Naneelu poetry is what Dr. N.Gopi is credited with. Naani is a poem if what is written on the Shadow Poetry site is correct. However it contradicts itself, as does the Wikipedia entry on the topic. What is clear is that Naneelu is the poetry form, and Dr Gopi is credited with having an anthology published of the afore mention. Having done some in-depth research I find that, as there is with most poetry formats, confusion. Sadly like rumors, each time the tale is told it is in many ways altered. However the only concrete fact is that there is an anthology published under the title Naneelu and was introduced in the year 2002 by Dr N Gopi through his book Naeelu. I'd like to say "I rest my case", but there to many conflictions. Help!!!!!

When doing mine it was my understanding that this form was recent; invented by said Dr. But I will look over it again to make sure. Maybe I mis-read.

Hi S.O.T.P, I think your correct, check this link out https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Naneelu Note Naneelu, where did Naani come from? Oh and I am that the word count should be syllable count. The example poem doesn't conform either way as the following clearly shows: 14 words, 19 syllables, 78 characters. Probably worth finding a way of contacting the Doctor or maybe the uni?
