Why Can'T I Be Young, Rich and Thin

That answer to that is painfully simple: I’m a disabled, thirty-something individual with compromised mobility…and I’m a lazy S.O.B...

But, oh, how I fantasize! And loath am I to torture myself by looking at all the exquisite, fabulous fashion creations by Versace, Comme Des Garcons, Missoni and Vivienne Westwood; elegant creations I will never be able to wear, let alone afford. Though I enjoy being a man and would have it no other way, I envy women and sometimes wish I was one, just so I could wear a Versace gown, even if it were just to take out the trash.

I worship fashion and models; they are my demigods. They embody all that is outwardly beautiful. I don’t mind the shallowness of it. I wish I was Coco Rocha, Naomi Campbell, Janice Dickinson, Linda Evangelista, Tyra Banks, Milla Jovovich, all rolled into one. I wish I could strut and stomp the catwalk; to pound the runway in some outrageous creation by Rei Kawakubo. To jet-set to Paris, Milan, Tokyo, London…! I would die and go to fashion heaven, and see Gianni, and I would be his Muse. Poor, Gianni; why did that bastard kill you? Genius was lost that day and fashion has since suffered in your absence.

I wish I was as skillful with sewing as I am with words; since I’ll never be a model, I’d at least like to design clothes that would echo my influences. A mesh of the sex of Versace, the elegance of Missoni, the insane artistic destruction and anti-fashion of Comme des Garcons and the hipness of Vivienne Westwood; yes, that would be my style, as my poetry echoes Poe, Shelley, Keats and Dickinson.

But, alas and alas again! For these are all but mere dreams and fantasies that shall never be fulfilled! But a gay boy can dream, can’t he?

The Cry of a Broken Hearted

Have you ever heard the cry of the broken hearted?
Whose heart bleeds as it pleads as a result to losing, the one girl, he needs
Humble your heart and mind and access with empathy; well enough to perceive it clearly
I must warn you, it’ll be the worst cry you’ll ever hear, because it’s awfully too near to fear
Like how raindrops can replace your tears’ flowing outwardly from the inside
Falling like thunder-hunted by a lightning spear, shredding your thoughts to wander
As to what reality will be like to a dreamer, who cannot sleep; as he weeps and leaps?
Chasing memories which doesn’t exist coz’ he cannot resist but he persist on insisting, anyway
Whereas his heart plays jaggedly with the cards of sorrow, one bluff-it’s goodbye tomorrow
He bellows… like a rollercoaster ride, knowing, it’ll come again and again, turning boys to men
Turning strong men weak and feeble men weaker-all because he tried again, to seek her
All because he thought he needs her-He truly believes and grieves like thieves
Stealing time that was never his to reminisce inside a kiss only to see it spun onto this
Where his world gets weary as his eyes get teary watching the past unfolds to less than a theory
I digress, hoping that it’ll all be over in one second or less, unless, all, is but a test
I digress from digressing further, because everything’s a blur-like a nightmare slurring
He confuses me, when he talks about me as “I to a he” to a muse as though he too has lost his shoes
My head’s spinning-trying to find the right words to a song; a right place to belong
I’ve gone and reached ahead while the unknown future still trapped in my bed; unwed from reality
Uncoupled from normality where the only exception to the rule was to cry and so I play the fool
He cries as I cry, sending our “goodbyes” to the sky, trusting that one day, I will get to fly
As for now, I’ll embrace the pain with a little bit of salt and let it settle inside my private vault
Where all my promises and wishes and dreams can come true, and while I’m there… I’ll think of you

Just the Way Love Goes

I guess this is just how the way love goes
Like looking for a raindrop, through every prickly rose
Re-defining, how each moment worth as we blindly try
To record the stillness of the moment, as time gently flies by

Like a needle in a hay stack, we fight on, against all odds
Because it is just how love creates; the story of two peas in a pod
Love songs and love notes, are the true idioms of the heart
A stairway full of dreams with a chest-full of art

Anyone can openly tell us; how this is just the way love goes
But no one can point the way; for God is the only one that knows
Love stories in the movie can only feed our mind to brewed
Whereas the love birds inside a novel can make or break the mood

Time only really matters if you don’t recognize the life you got
When your memories start to turn into worries; tie them into a knot
Instead be the shoulder you can count on and just let your soul; free
With one hand drenched at the sea, while the other, reaching towards me

Miracles

I believe in miracles
In the same way 7 billion people believes in miracle
Minus a few atheist and freethinker from here to there
Roughly speaking
But I don’t look for miracles like every single one of them do
Why would I have to?
When there are practically millions of them being born every second
And every day there is always something new
Like opening gifts on Christmas morning
Breathe and you already found one
Wake up! Poof! You just found another
Fall in love and that’s the best miracle of all
Fall in love again and the best just gets even better
Miracles are all around us
More so, flowing inside our own soul
In truth; we are all miracles for one another
Angels, disguise as friends
Friends more like brothers
Brothers with sisters at arms
Sons and daughters of the Holy Ghost

A Kindred Soul

I came alone baring only a smile
When I lifted up, the veil of immortality
While surrendering my wings as to reconcile
My rightful birth into humanity

I was sent alone with the pure intentions
To re-navigate the freewill of man
To re-write our rights without contention
And to point the way, to where it all began

I grew up alone to pave the road
Through rocks, through sticks and stone
From a mystical guidance to a mortal code
Where all future dreams, are loans

I now stand alone by the crest of a beautiful sunset
With still a life-span of promises to impart
When a kindred soul appeared from a silhouette
And steered the trails and trials of my human heart

We Are All the Same

We are the same you and I
Pages from the same book
Brothers and sisters in Deity’s eyes
Raindrops flowing in a brook

Only one God created all of us
And we only have one life to live
We’re all connected in a form of a plus
God literally died to forgive

Often we asked, if life is fair?
In love, God loved, not just one but everyone
Freewill made us responsible for the things we bear
As for the future, it has only just begun

We all have our shares of struggles and pains
Falling and failing are just part of the loop
We all bleed, we all cry, and death still remains
One more thing, oops! Yeah everyone poops!

I Love My Mom

Ever since I first opened my eyes
My heart enabled me to see
How everything my mom has done and did,
she did them all for me
I was at the very center of her universe
and she was the "Sun" to me
And I revolved around her every word
holding the very hands that nurtured me
I know, she loved me like no other mom, can
for the simplest of reason, I am her son
As for me, I also love her like no other will;
as vast as the ocean, forever-loving the sun
She is in Heaven now, my mom is
but she is also at home inside my soul
We have a bond that will never fade, you see
We have a doorway and God is the key

So It Begins

Last night, I had an awesome dream
In it, I was asking God, "How am I, so far?"
And while I tossed and turn, I felt His presence rest
In a breeze, He said "My son, it is time to raise the bar"

So last night, in that same dream, I had an epiphany
In it, I was almost certain, I was flying in the sky
And there I saw many versions of my life passing before me
Trapped inside every tears, as each one; falls from my eyes

At first, I could not set apart anything from everything
And I can hardly even recognize my own name
But like a rock of ice, at the very tip of an iceberg, riding an avalanche
I openly led my hands free, knowing; how things will never be the same

I am now at the dawning of what today could become
Awaken unto a new possibility that I never really did see coming
As if eternity and now; entangled themselves within a single moment
It transported me at a crossroad where Jesus is, ...In the beginning

A Chance To Say

I am looking for someone who can hear me when I can’t say a word
I am looking for someone who can understand my flaws when my words are lost
I am looking for someone who is willing to guide me when my lost words are gone forever
I am looking for someone who can inspire me where tomorrow, becomes a new day
I am looking for someone who will be with me to teach me the newer way of speaking
I am looking for someone who would stand by and listen when I speak my first new words
I am looking for someone who can embrace the purity of my first new words to heart
I am looking for someone who would make that same heart her permanent residence
Because all I ever wanted to begin with was just the chance to say, “I love you”

Do Not Seek Too Far

We seek out the moon for guidance
In love and war; as our ideal alliance
We seek out the stars for inspirations
The best and worst; through all occasions
We seek out the clouds for creativity
From air to sea, it is all about, relativity
We seek out the sun for warmth and grace
To enhance, peace and glory to the human race
We seek out the heavens for solutions
For the sake of justice and retributions
We seek out love in far off places
But love breathes in our hearts and lives in our faces

You Usually Get What You Reach For

If you are reaching too high
you shouldn't have to ask "why?"

If you are reaching too low
There are things, you may never know

If you are reaching too quickly
I am afraid, you might end up being sorry

If you are reaching too slow
Somehow, I think you might never grow

If you are reaching too fast
Whatever it may be, it will never last

If you are reaching for it, tomorrow
Today, all you’ll have are sorrows

If you are reaching for it too late
Well I guess, it’s just never your fate

But if you are reaching, just in the right time
Then surely, you’ll always be mine

It Is Only Natural

You and I are natural born poets
Established from the Words of God
A void-full of nothingness
Then love took away the darkness

You and I are a-natural work of art
Chiseled from, mercy-full-of-grace
From dust to the dawn of the Holy Spirit
Inherited to dream life up, to the limit

You and I are natural shoe-makers
Captains and masters and chiefs
We make rules where rules are made
And make homages to what Jesus’s-life, paid

You and I are natural home-makers
Leaving no stones or pebbles, unturned
But who’s the most natural in God’s point of view
Naturally, it’ll be a tie, between me and you

A Poet To An Artist

A poet can see the words, hanging in his mind
He applies them like a kid, picking grapes from a vine
An artist will then make use of them to construct a bigger leap
He will flock every words like a shepherd to his sheep’s

A poet will find a way to bring life, into the story
Just like King David, with his faith, re-defining his glory
An artist will paint his masterpiece, reasonably truthful to his words
In the same way a conductor from a train would say, “All aboard”

A poet will dig even deeper, to provide you with a little bit more wit
He would give you everything he has, up to whatever life permit
An artist will re-invent new colors, you may yet never have even seen
As if taking you to all of the same places, you thought, you’ve never been

A poet can take you closer to that inner voice in you
All he needs is one moment, to make all your dreams come true
An artist will go as far as to guide you, to that sacred journey inside
Like how Jesus saved us from sin, the moment He was crucified

Goodbye

As the day fades to darkness
my happiness slowly fades to sadness
because tomorrow will be a brand new day
but it’s without you there in any way

Oh! How my chest feels so heavy; as my head feels so alone
To live one single day without you; scares me to the bone
How I wish to hold you forever and to let time to just stand still
I’ve never met this kind pain nor even thought, it could be this real

Because I believed in love all-heartedly
But here I am, stuck, in an utter misery
not knowing if I’d ever be fine again or if I could ever be “Me”
I just believe that “faith” could somehow set me free

So “Goodbye” I am preparing myself to say
Before this lonely night becomes a day
But allow me to capture this moment if I may
For tonight I will dream of you and there I will make you stay
