walled isolation
     when a relationship hits hurdles
     gripped by the unfamiliar
a stillness that caves in on us

our small spoonfuls of conversation lack direction
      closed pod, defensive
my near muted pleas to break free of holding back
for nothing good brews in brooding

sucker punch of speculation
      health shifting
      the enemy, a diagnosis
      to map variables, unknowable

our dreams having no scale
de-stabilized by no surety of self
we hide behind silence like a well placed curtain
     balancing on slippery rock sickness
                              life altering

words perishable
    numbing
a fall-to-pieces stillness
like a windowless white room that traps the urge
                                                                           to breath

“A wise woman wishes to be no one’s enemy; a wise woman refuses to be anyone’s victim.” - Maya Angelou

The infamous feminist and activist Maya Angelou
She was a powerful force to recon with and to know
Her feminist and civil right beliefs were strongly expressed
As she bravely spoke her mind to try put injustices to rest

Premium Member - Defenseless -

Defenseless and drained of power
The reason is simple, you are a victim
an emotionless being without a heart

Hell is the snake in the room no one talks about
brainwashed lackey - screaming silence
- suppresses me with waves of steam

Missing a guardian angel
They find the hammer very quickly
aggressive enemy, a threat

The street has its own laws
the world is still full of shades and gray zones
Without shell protection, a defenseless turtle

The Turtle and the Scorpion

The scorpion and the turtle? Have you heard this story?
They are mortal enemies in natures scheme of things it can be gory’
Anyway this is a message about different creature’s nature.
So they’ll see this story and maybe mature.

This turtle is in the water as the scorpion looks and approaches.
The turtle thinking he’s safe you see scorpions can’t swim, so he’s comfortable.
“Hey mister turtle I need a ride across the river’ what do you say?”
Answering, “Are you kidding me? No how, no way.”

The scorpion reasoning with him says, “I can’t even swim and I don’t want to drown.”
As he’s talking the turtle thinks and stares with a frown.
Replying he says, “You’re my natural enemy you’ll surely poison immensely.”
The scorpion exclaimed, “To drown in the river? Are you kidding me?”

Well the turtle being good hearted started reasoning and thinking.
He could make this enemy a friend; he surely doesn’t want to die with both sinking.
Skeptically willing to take a chance with good judgment let’s the scorpion mount on his shell.
He thinks in faith and all will be well.

Half way across sure enough he feels the scorpion’s sting.
A pain shoots through the shell to his body and his ears ring.
“Now you’ve done it you rascal you we will now surely die’”
The turtle couldn’t believe it, feeling the poison, he shouted “Why?”

“To tell you the truth I couldn’t help it, it’s my true nature.” Said the scorpion.
The turtle realized it to late he’s to die, what a foolish decision.
The ones that some of us make in this world does matter with Our Father.
The turtle and the scorpions were enemies, so it is with man it is what matters.

The moral here is simple you decide important things in your life.
Either trust carnal man and his evil ways, or trust the Father or save yourself the strife.
Sometimes things that are looking ok might be the light of the evil one.
If you have faith follow the Lord’s lead you’ll always hear His voice, and listen closely and through the Holy Spirit you’ll find His loving Son.

Premium Member A Ballad of Reverse and Forward-W

There is always forward for outings,
Always a reverse if it is missed at all,
But forward in things conjugal ever.

I have been associated with a woman,
She has an in-built, reverse-forward button.
When in good humour the forward is on,
Make an adverse statement, reverse is on.

A lady Hamlet who faces a dilemma never,
To be or not to be is not a question for her.
But always forward in things conjugal ever.
Believe me, I tend to get what ultimately I desire.

If I wish to go for a movie in 1st show,
I need to suggest her for a second show,
Believe me,I get what I desire though.

If I am cross with someone & criticize,
She tends to follow *Ravan’s dictum-
Make enemy’s enemy a friend

Almost Ready

I feel the tears come as I half close my eyes

A familiar old song plays in the background as my personal
torment grinds down the old bones of wounds not yet healed

I carry the burden of my actions with
few or little outlets

My brain is turned to broil, hotter than
hell and ready to burn

Rest is all I truly crave, I beg anyone of you,
when will it be my turn

Dark forces are at work tonight, the
embers burn down low

Time is my enemy, a constant confrontation, it
moves so bloody slow

As I watch the moon rise over the mountains tonight,
my angry festering thoughts move to you

My confidant, my only true friend, my partner in crime

I am hurting deeply and I can’t get what I need,
to stick to you like glue

My outside shell is strong as ever, determined to stand
strong, resistant to attack, ready to conceal

My inner portion, soft and vulnerable is torn apart,
bleeding and wounded now, ready to reveal

Shalom To My Enemy

I sneak around my enemy’s encampment
Like a fox surveying a coop
Upon my heart lies a heavy weight called revenge
Pressing ever the more upon my chest
Festered with boils of vindication
To burst forth and spew retaliation owed
My mind in embedded in that darkened hole
Which only unreasonable righteous light may shine
For my lacerated heart is scared for life
No suture may ever begin healing mine
Unto my enemy I ensue my right
The ten-fold pain must begin
Hatred mingled with bitter persimmons
I have forgotten the taste of sweet peace
Having hidden away any thoughts for forgiveness
My soul knows of no rest these horrid days
Enslave to my best desires for the darkness I wish to inflict
I have swept dirt under the rug far too long
Passive aggressive, I stand no more
I spring upon my enemy as toad to a fly
My moment of vengeance, the moment of truth
But I hesitate in mid-flight
I can not do this
This is not the right
For my road to Heaven must pass through my enemy
And I whom profess the Christ must become the peacemaker called child of God
Thus peace is not everything sweet and tender
Nor does pain cease to be remembered
For the loving of people is not viewed as a peaceable kingdom
Like a hunter and the hunted stayed apart
But to love my enemy and wish him well
The true peacemaker works towards all things good
To make the enemy a benefactor
Is the view Christ had from Calvary’s cross
Shalom, my enemy

From Riches To Rags

From Riches to Rags

Most human beings are living like ghosts,
Not really knowing what the future holds.
Whilst we wash in the slime,
In our own cardboard homes.

There is a building, that is your home.
Once picture perfect; now in ruins after a cyclone.
Now like those you once looked down upon,
From your self appointed pedestal;
You too have become what you used to call a bum.

But now you must call them what they are;
A friend, an enemy, a homeless dying drunk,
Sleeping in a burnt out car.
In need of shelter; just as you are.
But the tramp that gave you shelter;
Shows charity starts at home.

For when the streets become your home
And you have lived that way for many years;
You will look at people in their suits
And recall once hearing all the cheers.
Success was such an easy thing to attain;
But compassion for your fellow man, has become your new aim.

For when you have lost all your worldly possessions
And you have realized your working life, is simply a profession.
Then maybe you will see clearly, find some sort of consolation;
Once you have regrouped and once more risen.

You have to begin your life, all over again.
But the partner standing by you, is in the same situation.
Then three years down the line,
As you sit there upon your throne;
You remember the bad old days have now come and gone.

But you are no longer a snob;
Now you no longer live for your job.
Now you no longer choose to live alone;
You can now open up to a fellow human being and live life as one.

Rome-Antics

When in Paris do as Romans do where pardon me I lost my Latin there
What is love truly like not to quench the stereo type
in clicks and cliche's let us count the ways from one liner's to hopefully the refiner
My face my mother has good taste grace please do not waste
Faint hearted love does not hurt only a shallow flirt
Fair love not everything goes in rules of the court
Next to you sugar taste like salt I wronged you it's my fault
In small houses best not to hurt the one
but forgive least that be turned to stone
Love thy neighbor a gift from above do not throw stones or live in
glass houses when push comes to shove
A many splendored thing not a splintered thing with kid's glove
One size fits all comfortably when God is your Love
For the Love of God is the truth better than the kisses of an enemy a rebuke
To love immeasurably the only measure to set us free is His pleasure
Love has everything to do with Love and contrary
to the other opposites do not attract well rarely
So when your bow you are a singing love is not blind just forgiving
So quit playing cards save your money and love your wife
looking for one choose words carefully ask a right
one will return as with promises, doves and ravens
one is wise but the other a safe haven
If you will and if it pleases how do I spell love JE SUS

Divine Love

With his Divine love God made us
True and eternal Divine love is
Heavenly love unites all the people
It brings all us together
It helps us love the environment
That is the power of Heavenly love

Empowering command has Divine love
Through gathering the people
To carefully listen to one another
Regardless who, what and where they are
To willingly decide as a team
And happily discuss joys and woes

Healing power Divine love bears
That never hurts the soul
For it forgives our trespassers
Sees an enemy a potential comrade
Makes us hate the offence
But still love the predator

True and everlasting is Divine love
For evil related wrongs
It bans but values all of us similarly
It triggers us to protect the ecosystem
For God created all of us
With Divine love

Poem by Mugisho N. Theophile

Educate Me

Educate me people
Can you hear me from the steopel?
How can you learn from the streets?
I know hip-hop can teach you different beats
Music can teach you a lot I'm sure
Reggae, hip-hop, r&b, and etc. are so pure
How can you learn from a friend?
Someone who always sin
Do drugs and steal cars
And is put behind bars
How can a camp teach you better?
Learn how to love and write your enemy a nice letter
Do push-ups and climb a wall
Climb to high and you might just fall
Educate me people
I said do you here me from the steopel?
There's more to be learned than taught
Do you know about Dr. King and Malcolm X and how they both fought
Come on people put the little kids in school
Doing the right thing might be cool
Learning can actually rule
I know don't no body want to be a fool
Looking at the wall can't teach you nothing
At least turn on t.v or do something
Television probably can do some good
Learn something new, I think you should
Give me your knowledge
So I can learn and go to college
'Cause if no one wants to listen
Then I'll pay attention

To Whatever End

In the world of fallen angels
The other kind of daredevils
Seeking the world’s attention
Competing for world domination

This is the moment to believe
In something more, to be brave
When life is a misty blair
Uncertainty stifles the air
Under such immense pressure,
To defend what we treasure

Try hard not to sweat
Swallow hard to wet the dry throat,
This is a ticking time bomb
Sensitivities brushed with a fine comb
My thinking starts to clear
Amidts memories that brings a tear

Sitting on a potential disaster
A sociopathic monster
I must get away from here
I look for the nearest door

I walk with fear in my heart
A 'can’t help myself feeling’ I’m bait
I know it’ll only drive us apart
I see my anthropology in his hate
I yell out, “Foreigner”
But he’s no stranger
Although he acts alien
I choose to call us brethren

I believe in the science
More than the obvious sings
Of peace coming forth
To desolve this mammoth
Back to the undesirable past
And move forward together fast

That I must do my part
To help set right the fight
I’ll take the first step
To bring this to a stop
And reach out my hand
To make an enemy a friend

The Great Escape

THE GREAT ESCAPE

Responded to a scream from the kitchen in our house,
Got there to find daughter imprisoned by a mouse:
On a chair she was hand-to-mouth scared of the rodent.
Creature was just as scared but rather impudent.

Brush-chased him  round the kitchen  twice;
Figured, “ Gotcha, you representative of mice.”
Then in a corner where he went,
Finally brush-trapped my tiny opponent.

Heard him squeak beneath the brush’s bristles :
In his small voice mixed with whistles.
A note of defiance as he climbed through the brush
Then suddenly out and made a rush

For the curtains hanging on the door.
He disappeared quickly off the floor
Into the folds and was seen no more:
Nothing left for us to search for.

Have to admire these miniature guys -
Facing an enemy a thousand times their size
Brush-armed and protecting a daughter -
Midget escaped, laughing at danger and slaughter.

A Strange Reflection

I dreamed last night I woke this morning.
The time had passed without a warning.
A life reborn without a past.
A new beginning that just can't last.

There seems there's just no rhyme or reason.
To this image that has acted with such treason.
An enemy, a foe, a friend that I don't know.
An apocalyptic sense of things, that leaves a dull, dim glow.

I,ll take a chance and place my bet.
That a face like this, you've not seen yet.
So off I go to face the day.
With this brand new life to find my way.
