I prefer to be called Jan … only my mum calls me Janet
Makes me feel like a naughty child and I am never naughty!

Just started writing poetry last year
Aims to try and make you smile
Now I have the writing bug and I never want to stop

All I want to do is learn about writing
Loving my new found creativity
Life experiences recently have made me stronger
I don’t try to pretend to be anything I’m not
Self-confidence is at an all time high
Only those very close to me know what makes me tick
Now is my time to shine

The meaning of ‘Janet’ in Hebrew is Gift from God
So who am I to argue with that endorsement!!!!

Questions of Balance: a Jeremiad

QUESTIONS OF BALANCE: A JEREMIAD

Why is it at 70 politicians are still underage
To assume political offices
And at 30 youths are overage to begin a professional career?

What divine strength hath a leader at 75
When a mandatory retirement awaits civil servants at 65?

Why should the government empowers the youths with $75 in 2 years
And expects them all to have own businesses
But civil servants who earn over $300 per month in 30 years
Are finding it difficult to own a garden or a store?

How is it our politicians could expend billions
To defect, campaign and give kickbacks
But would wait until the World Bank borrows them some millions
To provide a borewell drinking water?

How can they say the national treasury has collapsed to employment
Yet billions are looted and millions wasted on foreign fantasies?

Why should the achievement of our political endorsement
Be signed to MOUs as though we lack understanding?

Why should our lawmakers make laws that hound the masses
And not against their own chronic excesses and excuses?

Why should the wealthy politician vote a project for the poor
Assigned the execution of the project to himself and loot the funds?

Why do our lawmakers never make laws to free the masses
From poverty and political swindlers?

Why should the agency that fights corruption be corrupt?
Why should gluttons preside over the meager meals of the masses?
Why should the leader not serve today and the servant lead tomorrow?
Why should professional bandits be our bankers?
Why should 5% of public servants consume 60% of the nation’s wealth?

Why should a politician be a party leader, counsellor, chairman, governor, senator… still desperate to lead
And all behind his trails are poverty and anguish?

Why should a politician with obscene wealth hidden somewhere
Tell his people that their poverty and problem is Hausa, Igbo, Christian, Muslim, APC, PDP…?

And why is our nation over-laboured by multiplets of cultural, social
Political, religious questions awaiting caesarean responses?

The answer, my friend, is blowing in the wind
The answer is blowing in the wind!

The Blessings of a New Beginning

In opposition to social injustice
Colin Kapernick took a knee
To bring national attention to
Black American police brutality
But an unexpected result was
Eventually affected
Colin was black balled
From the NFL he was rejected
But what most people can't seem
To simply comprehend
Is that God will always cover and
Look out for His children

Uncertain of what his future
Would be
Unsure of how to earn a salary
But the blessings of a new beginning
For Colin did arise
He received an endorsement
From Nike and from Harvard
A prestigious prize

Don't allow society to ever box you in
And don't accept anyone telling you
You don't have what it takes to win
For when God designed you
It wasn't to be one dimensional
You're more than linear
You're multi- purposeful
For God's turning power
Can rotate 180° degrees
God's turning power
Has omnipotency

Endurance during transition
God wants us to stay true
And cleave to our convictions
No matter what we have to go through
And yes there will be some heartache,
Tragedy and pain
There will be metaphorical tornadoes
Hurricanes and torrential rain
But out of the carnage
A blessing will emerge
As God needs to get our attention
So He stages a purge
In order for a new beginning
To now take place
As a reminder of His
Infinite power, mercy and grace

Just don't take for granted
All that God has given to you
As answered prayers and actualized
Possessions aren't your due
So put your pride to the side
And don't ever forget
That you didn't give life to yourself
It was God's Holy Spirit
Yes there are somethings
Of which which you have no control
Just don't create situations
That can cause you to lose your soul
And most of all allow nothing
To separate you from God
In the midst of your chaos
Keep Him in your heart
As divine activities always
Manifest in the dark of night
Just hold on, keep praying
For the morning brings
A new beginning with its light

Yes the blessings of a new beginning
Will surely come
As only God can turn it around
When all is said and done

Premium Member RFK JR, A RE-POST

With sadness, that never ceased,
I watched your Father shot on live television.
I was living in Chicago and Elena, a baby
in my arms asleep.
Your Father, Robert had just won California
and “on to Chicago” was his mission.

Sirhan-Sirhan., anti-Isreal, pro-Palestinian ,
shot your father in the hotel’s kitchen, near dead.
I sat in Chicago, in tearful disbelief, and all I could
feel was profoundest grief!
Screaming crowds wept as deep crimson-
warm, blood seeped from your father’s head.

And here you are now with your lovely wife and
actress, Cheryl Hines, about to follow in your
Father’s footsteps!
Your voice may sound strange as you are
affected by spasmodic dysphonia.
I am just an ordibary American because I
do not think one party is a religion whose tenets
are absolute truth.

@@ This is not an an endorsement on his campaign@@

Steroid Use

People would do almost anything to make it to the top, even using steroids. This type of drug has been used by all would-be professional athletes and actual professional athletes since the 1980s, even behind the backs of their beloved fans. Professional athletes (Lance Armstrong, Barry Bonds, and the late Chris Benoit, e.g.) have been using a lot of steroids before they wrestled, played baseball, rode bikes, or whatever. Everybody knows that using too much steroids have real consequences, even the the courts are involved. Steroids will make one angry, the kidneys start to shrink, one person becomes aggressive, and so on. Using steroids will also cost one individual's life, a chance to play for one of their favorite teams (Dallas Cowboys, e.g.), family, fame, everything. Another term for a use of steroids by professional athletes is "doping." Sooner or later, their fans will find out about their steroid use. And when they do, the young ones who've looked up to their favorite athletes and trusted them with their lives will have been seriously betrayed. Using steroids is considered cheating, especially when Barry Bonds and Lance Armstrong have been using them behind the backs of their loved ones and their fans. Now I know why I never played sports and/or used any of those illegal drugs, let alone steroids. It seems that these athletes can't even earn their way to the top, that includes not using steroids. The only reason why these professional athletes have been using steroids is because their coaches and physicians told them to, and they really should've got caught making their star athletes use that illegal drug. Even Vincent K. McMahon, who was the chairman of World Wrestling Entertainment (formerly the world Wrestling Federation) had forced Hulk Hogan and other wrestlers to use steroids. All types of steroid use are starting to make everyone very, very sick. Did everyone know that if all professional athletes are caught with a lot of steroids and needles that they were going to get arrested. Steroids are to be banned from all of the sporting segments forever. And if all athletes continue to use steroids to cheat their way to the top, thereby getting more money and endorsement deals like that of McDonald's, Progressive, Geico, and other name-brand sponsors and whatnot, they've got another thing coming.

Kevin Garnett

KG, the "Big Ticket"
as you are fondly called
every game you bring it
playing so fierce and so bold..

From high school sensation
to NBA superstar
an MVP recognition
and a 10-time All-Star..

Filling up the stats
and lighting up the scoreboard
with each board, dime, swipe, swat,
and every hoop that you score..

The talent, the leadership,
the aura, the appeal,
the whole package, you have it
plus all those endorsement deals..

An outstanding contributor
on and off the court
a citizenship award winner
the community you support..

One of the greatest ever
but still without a ring
soon you'll get what you deserve
and be hailed champion, a king..

The Abomination

The Abomination

By Elton Camp

“Abomination! Abomination!” the preacher stormed
“A child of hell is all such a one will ever be!
It’s a choice one makes to serve the evil Satan.”
“Amens” rang out from the congregation

Young Jody dropped his head and diverted his eyes
Could it be that they somehow knew, he wondered
Was the sermon written and delivered just for him?
The horrible secret was too much for him to bear

It wasn’t something he had asked for or wanted
And why it had to be him he couldn’t understand
Life had been happy and he had fit right in
Raging hormones had awakened his deep shame

He began to feel desires he never knew existed
The boys’ bawdy talk held, for him, no allure
They must be concealed no matter what it took
Jody could never share his feelings with anyone

Inexplicably, the other youngsters seemed to know
“What makes you want to be a ***?” they demanded
Angry denials were the only course open to him
How much he detested their sneers and words!

Jody was in the seventh grade, but his life was over
Those who had once been friends shunned him now
He found his father’s pistol in the desk drawer
A searing pain and his disgrace existed no more

(This is not an endorsement of homosexuality, but a call for
understanding for those in a dilemma not of their making.)

How can a sportsman endorse poison
Not late for other dads to emulate him
The sporty father- set a new standard

As spectators let us not get carried by
Those 4Billion$ hit on the Coke shares
That may well be another game, arena

Applaud the sportsmanship on display
A father finally decided to Play the ball
No more a clothes hanger, finally a Dad

What is the content - sugar water untruth

The Ghost In the Courthouse Window

The Ghost in the Courthouse Window

By Elton Camp

Only the most gullible believe in a ghost
Alabama has one of which folks boast
Pickens County Courthouse burned to the ground
Soon, a convenient person to blame was found

The courthouse was built back right away
But the fire was arson, the townsfolk say
The Civil War had been over for many a year
But black persons still had very much to fear

Henry Wells lived in shack outside of town
Due to prejudice, he seldom came around
For having a dangerous temper he was noted
“He carries a razor blade,” was an idea promoted

Whether any of this talk was actually true or not,
Henry Wells soon found himself put on the spot
It was on a charge of arson the man was arrested
Although his innocence he strongly protested

“Turn him over to us,” a drunken, angry mob bid
But in the courthouse attic, the man was hid
“Stay there until the mob will finally disperse”
The sheriff ordered, as they meant the worst

They intended to lynch Henry and had a noose
“Give that man to us. For a trial there’s no use.”
Out of the attic window, Henry Wells peered
From the clouds, a bolt of lightning appeared

The guiltless man’s face was etched into a pane
Where, to this very day, it still does remain
Tourists come and look at it with great awe
Astonished at the ghostly face that they saw

(This is Alabama's most famous ghost story and is based on a real place and real events. The Pickens County Courthouse still stands and draws many visitors. This is NOT an endorsement in belief in "ghosts.")

I Crave For Your Indulgence

O! Merciful one, I have an appeal to make
I am sure it is easy for you to accommodate
I do not want all those things people require
I only crave for your indulgence in my life.

I have no yearning for pomp and splendor
All the tribulations I am prepared to endure
Kindly place your hand on my head forever
And prevent all the uncertainties that hover.

In life I have faced plenty of ups and downs
The brunt of them is very difficult to stand
And your grace has helped me to withstand
Hence crave for your indulgence in my life.

I wish and pray on no account abandon me
With affection and tenderness look at me
Please be my guide, mentor and caretaker
And be the guiding light in my life’s’ tour.

I pine for nothing but your endorsement
For me to remember thy name constant
Never ever to forget you at any moment
Hence crave for your indulgence in my life.

OK folks, there is something I need to share with all of you about yours truly, understand I have no problem with not sharing this in the past with anybody,
because I felt then and still do that I wasn't hiding anything from anybody.
ANONS hack into my Facebook page constantly.
This is their post, not mine, TheKidster, Billy.
Yes, I did write that write and this photo was created by me.
Along with writing I consider myself kinda, photo artsy crafty.
I shared this photo with ANONYMOUS with the hope that it might be,
a positive endorsement for all of these
very great people I would die for unhesitatingly,
at least the ones I've been fortunate to "meet."
I have never met any of them, be they he or she,
they or sometimes individually,
drop by now and then by hacking into my account just to say Hi to me.
These people do have the ability
to hack into all my friends lives and wipe you out completely,
but that isn't them, that's the way Big Brother wants them to be seen,
so I shared this with ANONYMOUS, not so anonymously,
To Show My Support For All Of Them,
for all their brave and great work we all so desperately need.
What is written on the bottom of the photo wasn't written by me.
ANONYMOUS wrote that and that is their way of saying to me,
"We appreciate your support, You Now Have An Ally, We Support You Too,
And No Government Agency Better Ever Screw With You,
Because Along With Our Government, We Will Be Watching You Too,
We Will Destroy The Lives Of Any And Every Individual Government Agent,
Who Dares To Screw With You.
This news is the most unusual, joyous feeling.
How can I ever possibly thank these great people I will never meet.
As you have now declared to me, I again declare to all of you:
ANONYMOUS, I Support Every Single Great One Of You,
oh, and I almost forgot, I Sincerely Thank All Of You Too.

Thank You ANONYMOUS

SERENDIPITY

Serendipity, a promise of destiny,
In the middle of the night, you dream,
You cry every time, for the revelation to find,
God’s promise, Word spoken, dreams dreaned.

Is this finally my day, tears will be wiped away,
like the day of love finally appearing,
Lonely hearts reunite, against all odds despite,
Tests and trials like the burns of a searing.

It began with a spoil, words sown in the soil,
spoken within little ears, outpoured,
Overtime years throughout,
questioning character and doubt,
tongues burning our forest in the name of the Lord,

Outside looking in, where did it all begin,
upon a man, his son and his wife.
Casted aside, and in for the ride,
Still would never trade or despise,
one day, of his life in Christ.

Unspoken grudges and blame, though loving the same,
family scattered, by events unreal.
Crucified behind closed doors,
praying and pacing the floors,
for the warmth and love one can no longer feel.

Then finally serendipity, days of destiny,
The evil days, to never return.
Pictures of family now stored,
though lovingly adored,
reflecting love with a memorable burn.

Remember, gifts of love, weighed in the balance above,
God knows the entire truth of your story.
God hears every Word, Holy Spirit little bird,
Conversations recorded in glory,

Serendipity, pray His will be your destiny,
Touch not His anointed,
whom God hath approved,
God doesn’t need your endorsement,
so reserve the resentment,
Tread softly, so thy head be not removed.

Healing

Poets often loose their groove
When entities dearest to them cease to be
when their natural instinct
to think wayward
fades away
and the remedy for artistic loss is unheard off
Life loses its jazz thereof

I was at cross roads some times back
on a pilgrimage on horse back
as told of by Robert frost

We play with words and bake love
but are we to also have the cake
we affix novels on single scripts
but are our conquest worth a headline
We decode the language of love
to those alien to mammalian emotions
find meaning to each ripple
of the saline seas of a humane pupil

I had my third eye plugged out
My endowment, my gift, my artistic touch, my woman
the whole subscription, cut off

She wasn't your average Cinderella
no, she was rocked in blue jeans
nothing close to a face portrait
she barely graced any make up
her face undefiled
Her scent sweat and pure passion
Lips of a new born, only hardened
Buy the equatorial rays of the suns glare
She was an endorsement of true beauty
at the threat of double standards
this century swor to alianate

Took just a stare
Fate on two feet
To heal a brocken pen
