Best Effected Poems

Amplified

Nothing is ever time wasted,
just the interlude to the rest of the album. Soon it becomes nostalgia. To think you almost pressed the skip button..
It's all about trying new things.
Slowing were briding the gap.
Looping untold tales of blues and jazz into our samples.
The things considered classical.
Instant vintage.
The things we keep hidden in headphones,
The venerability of hype.
It's always about the crowd.
Afraid to digest something different.
This was the first time I met her.
At first I laughed,
Reaction that I faced my own ignorance.
Listening again finding purpose.
Not knowing that we'd come to spend the rest of our lives together.
All three minutes and forty five seconds.
I was dishonest.
Not revealing anything real about myself until I heard it for the first time.
The first time she sung.
Music.
This wasn't an image to be upheld in front of others.
Or the gossip type spread circle to circle.
I was never exposed to this.
Skimming the top layer ready to press next.
Too far caught in the slander that first impressions can give.
History often repeats itself but this wasn't the case.
This was wholeheartedly the epitome of how she effected me.
The rhythm of how she moved.
How she spoke.
Like that I matured almost instantly.
She became my biggest influence.
A two way street that bridged the gap of my own ignorance.
After time I began to leave my headphones on the dresser.
We were amplified.
She'd follow me everywhere just as I'd follow her.
Soon it caught on to the masses.
Each and every thought became a publicist of what she'd recite over and over again.
A parental advisory issued with every cover.
Finding the one became a catalog.
Stumbling back to the first interlude all over again.
The copyright not for sell

Premium Member Time Spins People

So much growth just passes by
while our hours are on the fly.
Whether we grow and absorb
or miss each sight and single word,
our moment’s entire, total sum
is effected by each passing one.

Time spins people in and out.
Time may whisper, time may shout.
It is not clear on any day
which memory will firmly stay,
which will take us and shake us
into all that’s a plus in us.

What we do, changes us,
what we don’t, also does.
If no day seems brand new
perhaps your changes are too few.

Premium Member Don't Dare Ask

We had no hand in this rape of nature
Yet we will bear its full weight and measure
Can climate be sentenced to certain doom
Is there time to resolve its gruesome gloom

Don't dare ask us to deny climate change

We've dug a hole that we can't get out of
At the "climate mercy" from high above
Self-interest trumps the collective good
Tell the top players to do now what they should

Don't dare ask us to think or act short-term

Our little spades try digging us all out
As designer-suit dudes plow dirt round about
We dutifully sift through our own trash
So we make these moguls even more cash

Don't dare ask us to bow to huge profits

Those prominent peers, posers, pols and priests
They had their fair say and done their least
Fighting useless battles over oil sites
While we differ on clear-cut human rights

Don't dare ask us to reject world order

Elites hold the power and that is true
Puny results from what we folks can do
As much as we'd like to see it all stop
To fix this we must begin at the top

Don't dare ask us to back broken brokers

Seeing in stores all that shiny plastic
Vast plastic globs float in the Pacific
We drive plastic cars that are half the weight
With which green fuel is still under debate

Don't dare ask us to save our frail planet

Each ecosystem is interconnected
Rising like tides that are all effected
Now fires and storms rage behind a curtain
Weather is volatile and uncertain

Don't dare ask us to endanger species

Air, lands, waters hope for a better day
Some of earth's environs have lost their way
Without half our insects we must move on
The planet's trees are forever half gone

Don't dare ask us to fix this mega mess

Book: Radiant Verses: A Journey Through Inspiring Poetry

He, She-We

He lied about his industry
and cut me to the heart

She tried to be a mystery
please, I'm way too smart

He had a way with levity
I always had a smile

She made a mean rotisserie
And that I won't deny

He swore that she was history
Oh! was that quite the ploy

She bore the mark of misery
I lavished her with every toy

He loved me with an artistry
The pleasure was such joy

She held my dreams so vividly
I became a man from a boy

He stabbed me with such accuracy
I bled then, I bleed now

She effected so much trickery
I became the rabbit and the bow

I hate you James for the misery
When love was all but ours

I hate you Jane for the hypocrisy
For you foiled the shuttered glass

I love you James for eternity
You're mine, you're mine, you're mine!

I love you Jane till infinity
Forever, you are mine...

Premium Member Sensitive Is My Shame

Since a little girl, I have been sensitive. Hiding behind mother was my place to be.
Mother used to say that I was born different. My eyes were pools of sadness, dark
brown and full of sorrow. As I grew words said effected me deeply. I did not brush
them off, that was not me. The words were like scars on my soul, they dwell there.
Terrible, awful death shadowed my days and how I handled it was to go deep within.
I dwelled there, happy with imagination. I made up stories and lived them. I would
read books in a secret corner of the attic. I liked to wander the woods near home.
I saw things there that touched me, little baby birds, young squirrels playing, nature
growing all around me. I told my sadness to my kitty, she was a good listener.

in woods wandering
I find my sweet peace and tranquility-
green lush vines creeping

Soon, I was a teenager. I was quiet and alone in my private world. Words lashed at
my soul like whips. Perhaps the words were not even that terrible, I twisted them
that way. I was extremely sensitive and it was a curse. Yet, in the end it turned out
to be my most precious quality, sensitive to all I see and feel in this world has made
me the poet that I am today. I can now write with soul all that I see wrong in the
world with emotion. But part of the little sensitive girl hides inside of me, often she
is hurt by a word said, even if innocently said. It is a curse and a blessing.

the birds are chirping
they are calling me to the green lushness-
words fall from my pen

One hundred years ago in 1921
The 15th of May a new charity begun
Amalgamating  charities of which there were  4
The Royal British Legion set up to aid those from the great war.

Earl Haig and Tom Lister were the founders.
Supporting those back from Flanders
1.75 million of those that returned
Had some form of disability from amputee or minds totally burned

Then there were those wives, widows daughter's and sons.
Who's Husbands, Fathers lives had succumbed
There lives taken by the enemy
The RBL emblem became the Flanders poppy

The poppy is the symbol of Rememberance
For the sacrifice of life, so peace had a chance
Every conflict since the great war
More recentely Afghanistan, Iraq, some more obscure

Korea, Malaya, Oman and The Falklands
Servicemen and women put lives in others hands
So comemerate their passing on Armistice day
11th November sit quietly and pray

Without these sacrifices in all these wars
The world would have broken that's for sure
So every year stand still and reflect
Those that died deserve your respect

Those that survived may be stood in your town
Looking sorrowful and feeling down
The best thing you can do is show your support
Words from Brigadier Marriot " Do as you ought"

Bow your head when you hear that bugle play
Stand still and watch those on parade this Rememberance Day
Someone in your family`s history
Will have been effected by a catastrophe

Join in be proud of your countries past
Hopefully all these sacrifices are finished at last
But if not, and more wars happen
Support those military men and women

The have no choice whether to stay or go
Orders are followed, allegiance they show
For Queen and country they will fight
For your freedom and human right.

Remember them is all I say.
For your Tommorow they gave their today

Three Stooges

THE THREE STOOGES

With their lunatic style of slapstick
These old favourites made their mark
Bangs on head, eye pokes and **** kicks
Were transformed to works of art

But it's not of this trio I speak
Three more egregious, my aim
On these your attention I seek
They're REGRET, SHAME and BLAME

Undesirables of the emotions
With pretence that your life they will serve
If for living this life you've devotion
Treat them with the mistrust they deserve

                         .....................

SHAME - the one least deserving disdain
The one who gets head bashed and eyes poked
Only loons never feel guilty pain
Without wishing their sins be revoked

With no shame at our dastardly deed
We would surely be heartless and brazen
Not to wish to repent, fault concede
But don't drown in self immolation

                           .....................

REGRET is a stooge insidious
A crime with no victim but self
Curbing soul in a manner perfidious
Life on hold, and you on the shelf

Have a few, perhaps 'too few to mention'
You mis-spoke? Well by all means retract words
But avoid a total suspension
And don't spend your life looking backwards

                           .....................

Then BLAME, there's the killer, life dumbing
Though it may give relief and brief feel-good
To beat up some rat who had it coming
But move on! Don't espouse victimhood

The problem with indulging in blame
It makes another the cause, you effected
Paint yourself in a victim's frame
Can you then be source for life corrected?

Sandstone erode into dust harks history's fade
Effected by events, weathered
Crept century torture administers eventual taint
Withered time drives incessant

Battered slate roof removed promotes damage
Cold rain and blazing sun hurt
Cyprus seeds challenge infertile dust, establish
Passage through gathered dirt

Co dependent pieces redefine a weary structure
Fed full on counterpart stength
Capability maps character, freshened functions
Exchange worshipped sentiment

Protected rod trunk tree intersects better entity
Deep dug roots, a chasm shielding
Tumult inevitably threatens to reinstate tentative
Pledge prevails, reliance appealing

Dedicated to tasks, support and every day bolster
Ruin renewed by flaura's courage
Offers availed are automated, mutual responders
Hold each firm in order to flourish

Time and Place

There was never a time
 or ever a place
When I wasn't effected
with just a smile on her face,
Or when I was warmed
 by her loving embrace.
With her I feel God
 and His eternal Grace
Like fruit from the vine-
 how sweet is the taste,
When finding the love of your life-
 then such is the case,
I finally got hold of a dream
the was worth all the chase..
And, the memories we've made
 you could never erase,
For each day we grow stronger
 no matter the space.

So I guess here is the place
 & now is the time,
To quit all my insanity
& for once make up my mind ,
To grab hold this chance
 or get left behind.
See, this girl; she's one in a million,
 & she calls herself mine
Now my worlds looking up
 & I'm ready to climb,
But one slip of the foot
& I'm back in a bind-
Loosin' this treasure
it took a lifetime to find!
Now, you can't place her value,
cuz she's one of a kind
Just the thought of her love,
& my eyes start to shine...
But, on the day when I must step from this place,
cuz the Lord says it's time
To that small patch of dirt,
where they'll lay me in pine.
I'll have only one wish,
 then be suited just fine
Lord please grant the years of our love,
 to live in rewind!

Premium Member The Coronavirus Covid-19 Part Two

The Snohomish County Health District is using the Angel of the Winds Casino's Everett arena. In order to treat victims of COVID-19. Whereas in Seattle 300 Army medical core medical professions are being utilized to treat patients not being effected by the Coronavirus. In Kent and Issaquah motels are being used to intern people affected by it. They are being monitored by the police. Yet in Kent, a homeless man broke lose and robbed a local convenience store.

The Army medical core is using the Seattle's CenturyLink Event Center and field. Treating non victims of COVID-19. Field hospitals are being established nationally and world wide. Treating this contemporary angel of death.

In Yakima twelve to thirteen inmates broke lose because their facility was being impacted by COVID-19. In several of the most impacted states, such as New York. The National Guard has been called out to render assistance. As of yesterday, thirty three of the fifty states have been effected by it.

There have been non essential business in Washington State. Ignoring Governor Jay Inslee's order to close down. First they will be warned, and finally they could lose their business licenses. For continued noncompliance.

President Donald Trump and Congress approved a stimulus package for our nation. Checks should be arriving direct deposit by the IRS in about two to three weeks. His stay at home order has been extended to April 30th.

Online schools are becoming the new normal for students. Even students without home computers can use their teacher's lesson plans. And in some areas home computers are being delivered to k-12 students.

We should watch, wait and pray for the COVID-19 to pass over us. By vanishing into thin air.

Premium Member The View

I wondered why I could not write
why the pen seemed dry
why words seem to circle
like an eagle looking for prey
the more I searched
words eluded me
yet like the eagle looking
for the right kind of prey
I kept searching for right words
they appeared everywhere
but nothing filled the appetite
I decided to get a birds eye view
of what was holding me back
I think I needed to rest
instead of spreading my wings
a nest to sit and meditate
the virus and lock downs were
a perfect time to write yet
these changes happening in life
effected me in more ways than one
so pen in hand
I soar back to poetry land.

Premium Member Bill Clinton

 Ex-President Bill Clinton
Didn't make the same mistake as Nixon
He chose a female intern date
Which ended up to be a zippergate

Personally I like Bill And think that he is an intelligent man
who made a terrible mistake that effected and probably affected many lives

Premium Member Sneezing

This is some ramblings of a poet which probably make no sense
After gallbladder surgery don't sneeze
It doesn't matter if they only poke four holes in your side
And one incision in the belly button
The pain is so bad that you will try to stop the sneeze, have a minor accident
Cry and pass out all in the same breathe
Then discovering that you are being effected by six sneezes simultaneously
The prayers begin and the hopes that other Christian friends
are remembering you at the same time

Thank God that he hears and answers prayers for I made it through to the other side
of the surgery and the sneezes and the one week after surgery..

The pain has been really bad as has been the nausea and shivering, yes, shivering
occurs from having gallbladder surgery..There is a medicine that they give to help
counteract the effect..It helps but still there is some shivering..

Thanks to each one who has prayed, sent a note, read my poems even when they were not very good..God bless each one..

Memories of Mother

Mothers Day always trips sadness
in me since her death years ago;
impelling a circuitous
journey of memories that flow
within a stream of consciousness
always the same, unabated.
It’s ***** how an act of congress
can regress a mind effected
in such a way as to cause tears.
I guess stranger things have happened
and will happen over the years.
Though measured in nanoseconds
these yearly memories of her
are all that remains of mother.
