Inside

I’ve spent many nights lying in the dark
This time is a period of self reflection
A journey that I’m all too terrified to embark
I’m naked on the examination table, performing my own dissection

My insides are poisoned with abhorrence and self doubt
I cannot see the good in myself
I know this can’t be how you hoped I’d turn out
My spot for accomplishments and good deeds is but an empty shelf

I can put my all into becoming someone better
I start to be happy and enjoy the finer things
Then I wake up in a sweat and look down to see the fetter
It seems as though I never severed the strings

This cycle of mine is a never ending tale
I open myself up and hope to be contented
Then I let the sorrow creep in and make my efforts derail
I have cursed myself to be forever tormented

Despite my reoccurring lachrymose state
I will always keep pushing forward
I will not allow this suffering to be my fate
I will fill my dreams with hope as I sleep peacefully in my bed

“No matter how low we fall, God holds our hand ~
All’s enabled, if this truth we understand”
                                             ~ quote by poet

Both Adam and Eve were tempted
To eat the forbidden fruit
Perhaps their fall could be preempted
If they weren't so resolute
To take the devil's route

Let us together attempt to reconstruct
This metaphorical tale
Why did Adam and Eve self-destruct
Drinking not from the holy grail
Thus their soul growth derail

Eating the apple brought about shame
Of their naked body
Aroused lower mind no doubt to blame
Making them a limited somebody
Entertaining thoughts shoddy

Made in God's image man was complete
Essence of divine light
From head to toe at all times bliss replete
Temptation became the blight
Denuding spherical sight

Male and female being our polarities within
Apple representing animal lust
Negating God's love and light the original sin
Succumbing to ego cravings unjust
Thus doomed to ensoul organic dust

The serpent is our ego; the devil in disguise
Cajoling man to act on his own
Indulging in desires, stifling soul's bliss rise
Head over heart, love dethrone
A dark destiny, we now bemoan

Fortunately, we can reverse the error made
Simply by giving love a nod
We then enter God's heavenly blissful glade
Tip toeing into heart unshod
By His boundless grace overawed

Premium Member And now it starts - in Trumps own words

And now it starts,
And yes, I'm back at last,
Four years of trials and tribulations,
Capped off by this raucous jubilation.

I fought and won,
Proved them all wrong,
The denigrators,
The fake media perpetrators.

Now watch them squirm
As I storm into my term,
So much to do,
A solemn promise made to you.

I ask why was I spared,
When into death's eyes I clearly stared,
But when that moment I re-live,
This is what I’m here to now achieve:

Stop the woke,
Don't call a girl, a bloke.
Make us safe,
In this our home, our sacred place.

Make us strong,
So that bad actors do no wrong,
Aim to win,
Proving we are made of steel not puny tin.

Stem the divide,
For racism I simply shan't abide.
Democrats so played this ruse,
Our democracy to harness and abuse.

Let law and order thrive,
Reclaim our streets - our cities to revive,
Where children learn that doing right,
Is what gave our nation majesty and might.

For merit alone to be the glue,
So that we build and not undo,
Step up and take the strain,
Choose sunshine over rain.

Vet the folks that we let in
Ones that work and help us win;
Stop the thugs that sow despair,
See how much they truly dare.

My time may however prove too short,
But no promise made will I abort,
I’ll fight for you with all my might
To make our future prosperous and bright.

So thank-you America and watch this tale,
As the train to Woke I thoroughly derail,
No time to waste, I’m working fast,
Ensuring all that’s bad we quickly blast!

Premium Member Falling

Falling into a fake world
does nothing for the imagination;
It just makes the fire inside burn,
doesn’t derail my destination;
Falling upside down
doesn’t scramble my head;
The thoughts that linger are always there
following where my heart has led;
A pair of eyes, a quiet word,
you give me chills when I see your lips move;
It’s like a soft whisper in my ear;
the electricity crackling
like a sunset with a wonderful night promising;
I’m completely dizzy, totally dazed;
Oh stupid head stop failing me!
catch my heart when I fall!
Reality is the seduction
as I drown, blissfully falling.

Premium Member There You Are Again

There you are again, showing up unexpectedly, in what I see.
Taking my mind on a trip like a screaming train.
As the whistle of truth echoing, is still left unheard.
Rumblings on the tracks, shaking cars, about to derail.
But, it keeps on going and the changing scenes replay.
Like pages of a book, flipping by, in the same old story.
Shown on signs trapped in a long tunnel of darkness,
With only a glimmer of light still flickering ahead.
Will light be reached this time, to remain the end of the story?
But, with you standing there laughing, mocking, one step ahead?
Flashes of mixed images young and old are seen in corners.
Time that turned your innocence into something unrecognizable.
A powerless train ride, with old tears dripping on cement walls.
All the while, you rise to the top of a hierarchy of power.
As if your childhood was erased and now facts non-existent.
Interestingly, you are the most factual person of them all.
But, you have cherry picked the new facts to fit your motives.
I have seen others take your ride to a tragic, abrupt train wreck
           -	Others that I could not save -

On par to manage joyful course
Approach to live without remorse
While dictums of insanity
Are grinding spars impaling me

Perchance to light upon derail
The most melodic harmony
The rest express to no avail
Irrelevant profanity

Experience of life prevails
Experience no sailing smooth
Pause to enjoy a hilltop fair
The valley comes, despair resumes

The Dilettante Diaries: "Finding Lost Keys on the Steppes of White Ivory"

Where do you place your hands
When the sands of time
Slip through the 4th
and like reading braille
you silently derail
to touch burning
black keys
on white ivory
you go about
removing cold hands
from the warm pockets
of trapped complacency
looking for
double sixes
roll the dice
tumble the love cup
upside down
soft-sucked
sugar cube
black tea leaves
soak up your
bespoke wet dream
slam danced
you're romanced
up against graffiti
walls, you
take a chance on
shadow dancing
with another hand
tired of shuffling decks
cutting cards with
Half-hitched knots
and sinking boats
that pass for
tiger sharks
playing for
white ivory
on the cool
Siberian Steppes of
silent aching skin
shimmering
secrets sans
translucency
and buzzing bees
burning
stings
the wanting
humming silently
secrets and
all those
lost black burning keys
within …

I Needed

I NEEDED

“Boldness – If I choose to loiter in this day I will lose it, and tomorrow will be the same, and I will end up lamenting the lost days” -By Wayne Wyder.

I needed a person who would cook my [spoiled] goose when my train was about to derail and he would fix the shocks.
I needed a fellow who bothered to know that before the Italians could cover my feet I had cracked heels. I needed a fellow who will know the origin of all the scars on my body, I needed one who knew why I engaged the services of a bespoke tailor – that the main reason was because my body was shapeless at some point.
I needed a fellow who knew that “my brother is a reflection of me. I can’t fly if he is falling”. I needed the one who understood that when I was with him we were neither strangers nor club attendees, nor colleagues. I am saying I needed the one who knew that he is not my leader but my vein.
I needed the one who was willing to walk alongside me all the time.
I needed a fellow who lived beyond his feelings but knew that as a brother we would always carry each other’s microscopes in order to zoom our blood. I needed a fellow that knew that his emotions/feelings could not build both of us but could provide either of us with a tent.
I needed a fellow who had his pad when the other fellow was jettisoned by his own plane because he had allowed today to pose as yesterday forgetting that today cannot be tomorrow.
Yes, I mean I needed the one who also had a pad when the misnomer was introduced into the other fellow’s plane and fermented the other fellow’s gum trees thinking they were impressed trees. I mean the one who knew that we are both together in this and he allowed me to have his ear when we walked, I mean the one who knew to listen to reason.

Premium Member MY SUPERPOWERS

My powers have few limits.
My powers are no gimmick.
Three blinks, blinked fast,
Grants my powers most vast.
If my wish is to fly,
I can Peter Pan the sky.

Time is mine to travel,
Freeze, bend or unravel.
While invisible as breeze,
I watched Adam and Eve
Grapple over that apple
To end up forever baffled.

I can heal a hurt body,
Smooth what was rocky,
Stop looming travesty,
Derail would be calamity,
But for no one’s sake
Am I able to duplicate.

All evil that I can’t undo
Is because I am not two.
Much that’s brutal and cruel
Still dominates and rules,
Leaving me to feel inept
Despite my powers so adept.

More Than a Mother

who is a mother?

a million dollar question

that flows through ones heart

and asks questions

not every one who gives birth

qualifies to be a mother

some are not motherly enough

to even rear their kids

some sell their kids

some abandon them...

is that a mothers role?

a rhetorical question

the mother i have

has a role far greater than her title

the privilege i have to share her life

is beyond my comprehension

she is more than a mother

not because she birthed me

because she knows her role

superbly than a cookie recipe

those poor old days

when we manage to even eat rice

and life was difficult

when we needed chicken...

for christmas and new year

and a whole chicken will be cut into half

so we will have a sense of livelihood

i have more than a mother

a mother who groomed us

all in the way of christ

thank God for the bible club of those days

and how she often tells us...

"say the truth and let the devil be ashamed"

when you lie, there are two ballots boxes

lieing makes you vote for the devil

i have more than a mother

a mother who elevates my self esteem

when people step on me

she makes me realize my worth

"i am fearfully and wonderfully made" she says

day by day, she pours into my ear

to keep myself pure

i have more than a mother

thank God for you

being a guardian, mentor and role model

over my existence...

even when we want to derail

she sets us on the right path

reminding us of the gravity of laziness

and how it doesnt pay

i have more than a mother

and i thank God for giving us you

to procreate us...

over five decades ago you were born

and today we celebrate not just your birthday

but the opportunity it has afforded me

to have more than a mother

The Computer's Lament

Please don't blame me
when your trains derail,
when power plants fail.
And it's not really my fault
when you don't get the mail
or not warned about the hail!

I do what you tell me to do.
Anyway, I haven't a clue
what will make you happy
or why you cry & get sappy!
And please don't say 'Lazy
You make me!' Or even crazy
when your life gets so hazy.

Truth is, I can't think for myself
(although you suspect I must),
so if your dreams turn to dust,
you should only blame yourself!

Lines derail trains made from stern stock
shunting worsted words in wagons to and fro
cabins depleted by looters piled on dock
signals distressed faces not any more

forefathers shape not their twisted progeny
when foremothers shunt them out of agony

the fear that might in the grain burst bunds
    resides unformed in unwilling face
the dark inscrutable face of race
blood thinning through bastardized sons

forefathers shape not their twisted progeny
when foremothers shunt them out of agony

to guard the rhyme within the quatrain
no end of artifice will make for sacrifice
content lets form intertwine lines in vain
clickety-clack of the train lulls us nice

foremothers never think of their progeny
when forefathers shunt them out of agony

The Long Goodnight

if only there was a way

to wash your memory
beat it against stones
               (perform my own lobotomy...

                    ...interrupt the fibers of response)

remove the cynical tarnish tongue
that waits (breathing- taunting)
a cannula, manipulating the phone
that speaks your lies

long is this equation
tied together,
like railroad tracks
running together concurrently;

                          pushing, pushing, pushing…

      …forward without reprieve,

valleys that wind down
stopping through thoughts--
displaying anguish from a looking glass.
I have lived in the freshness
of spilled water
tracing from the grey skies…

              …can one derail this train

fling it from the trussle,
as if skipping you
like a rock
from a grenade bandaged hand
you once called truth.

instead this two sided coin
has been flipped,
smashing the wounds
forcing splinters under nails

                 if you
                 smiled;

the force would shatter
that damn brazen smirk,

there is far more safety
in the grips
of the hooded executioner
who shares your conscious blank stare.

driving a stake
through your chastised breast,

only to find a sepulcher
where the heart
was never placed.

(clinging to existence
                 a parasite)

           feeding, feeding, feeding

without penalty;

		--you cannot feel
		--you cannot bleed
		--you cannot rob me
