COCAINE Is Her Name ( Addiction )
COCAINE is her name. They call her COKE for short.
She came into this Country, without a Passport.
Since then - she has made a lot of scum rich. Others
have been murdered and found in a ditch.
She is more valued than diamonds and worth more
than gold. Use her just once and you too - will be sold.
She will make a straight A student forget his books
and a Beauty Queen forget her looks.
She can make a known speaker become a bore. She
can take your Mother and turn her into a Whore. She
can make a Teacher forget how to teach. She will make
a Preacher - not want to preach.
She can take your rent money and you'll be evivted. She
will murder your babies or, they will be born addicted.
She will make you - rob, steal and kill. When you are under
her POWER - you have no will.
Remember my friend - her name is BIG C. If you try her just
once - You may never be free. She has already destroyed
ACTORS, POLITICIANS and many a HERO. She has decreased
bank accounts, from millions to zero. Shooting and killing is
a common affair. Once she's in charge - you are under her
SPELL.
Now that you know - what will you do? I tell you my friend
it's all up to you. The day you decide to sit on her saddle - the
dession is one that no one can STRADDLE. So pay close Attention
and listen well - because if you don't - you can wind up in HELL...

The candle seemed to call my name
I watched its brightly flickering flame
The light from it shone bright in the dark
I was hypnotised by its golden glow
The wax melted slowly so slowly
Like creamy liquid tears running down the sides
Drip
Drip
Drip
A silent puddle formed
Slowly oh so gradually over time the wick decreased
Almost like your life was ebbing away
Getting smaller and weaker every second
The candle flame started to dim
Flickering dancing flickering dancing
Fighting to stay alive with every ounce of its strength
Finally it flickers for the final time
It gave its final breath
Leaving a wisp of smoke
I imagined it was your spirit rising through the air
Ascending towards heaven

Written when my father had terminal cancer and I read it at his funeral service in Feb 2015
A
saying that's been around forever
Where it came from I haven't a clue
There's many phrases just like this one
So familiar to both me and you
PENNY
is a word not heard much these days
Its value is less than a cent
We used to get a big bag full of candy
At the store, it was a big event
FOR
many years its value has decreased
There's a rumour they'll not longer exist
Where's this technological age leading us
The good old days I dearly miss
YOUR
thoughts are probably, what an old geezer
He can't keep up with the times
But us old guys lived a much simpler life
For those good old days we still pine
THOUGHTS
of sodas, ice cream and lollipops
Linger in the depth of our being
Tears can be seen trickling down our cheeks
A sad but a joyous a feeling
We have great animals on this grand Earth
of varied size- they live on land or sea.
Domestic ones, we love for all their worth;
like, family we live in harmony.
But grandest in our mix of wild beasts here-
our elephant, the largest one on land.
Though giant-sized, of them I have no fear-
a gentle kind with traits I understand.
They do not kill for meat or dominance,
but feast on greens wherever they might roam.
Their matriarch displays her prominence-
she leads and guards her group, her lasting home.
Emotions they display at death or birth,
caressing with their trunks the fallen ones,
and cradling safe tween feet of massive girth
their offspring, never crushed by weighty tons.
Of course, when threatened be it man or beast,
they will defend and charge with all their might.
But when the threat is gone or is decreased-
they back away and calmly end a fight.
They are not only massive in their size,
but awesome in the cultured ways they act.
Intelligent with feelings realize
the need to keep their family intact.
Oh, giant beast of Earth, dear elephant,
your gentle nature thrills my human heart.
Majestic in your size, so eloquent,
I pray from here on Earth you'll never part.
He provides a way out for the broken,
and opens the eyes of hearts unspoken,
and leads us past what our earthly eyes see,
the power of His love that sets us free,
holding us in ways we can't understand,
in knowing not everything is meant for us to comprehend,
only in what he allows us to view,
always through His spirits timing and truth,
characteristics we've asked to understand,
giving us a mirrored reflection of the ones we all have,
issues of the heart we would rather not face,
but sometimes God will allow to come out to restart with grace,
to humble us in ways beyond the world views,
stripping our hearts of strife to turn our eyes back to you,
a muted voice that needed to speak,
the healing begins at the hearts release,
hushed away, the excessive silence,
the covered up perfection of the world that blinds us,
hiding away our voice that God gives our hearts to speak,
breaking chains of bondage...opression's silence decreased,
extrovert and introvert go head to head,
it balances out....the extremes of the strongholds are dead...
I think there is a new vibration, I can feel it right here on my stoop.
Can you smell it in the wind, I’m thinking it might be some poop.
It could be a sudden division, of a burrito that stuck in my bowels.
I’m feeling a little emotional, can someone please hand me some towels.
My eyes are beginning to water, if anyone should even care.
I’m starting to feel quite dizzy, I could use a little fresh air.
I shouldn’t have eaten those beans, they are known as a magical fruit.
They come in so many different colors, but I guess they all still make you toot.
Hurry and get off of my stoop, or you’ll experience a change from within.
When the smell has marginally decreased, then you are welcome to come back in.
I’ve experienced an influx of gas, please forgive me and try not to hate.
Lord help me I love Taco Bell, but that burrito I never should have ate.
tadpoles growing in a pond
anxious for the great beyond
decreased numbers, fairly grim
takes too long to grow a limb
hiding from the larger fish
trying not to be a dish
feeding on the larval flies
protein bars in strange disguise
gain a voice before you croak
caught up in a ghastly joke
wishing you could wave a wand
hop out of this brackish pond
finally you climb a log
live your days out as a frog
in the water for a rinse
back on lookout for your prince
In midst of night,
When I was deep in slumber,
The memory rattled,
Eyes sunk with fear,
Saw the houses crumble,
The trees tremble,
The thunder storm made me nimble,
The ocean in fumble,
Tried to reach me and hug me in grumble.
I went slowly to the balcony,
Tried to reach out to see this mesmerized agony,
The agony was far from imagination,
It’s a terrifying situation,
God is slowly destroying its creation.
The waves shook the landscape,
The geography is jeopardized,
The houses drowned,
And with it are the people,
Cries of the birds,
Made the atmosphere filled with shrill,
The painful and subdued voice of the animals,
Made it sure of their fatal deaths.
The water is beneath,
Thunderstorm is above it,
No place for shelter,
The houses gradually decreased,
With water slowly increased,
I saw human beings floating in it,
I knew some of them, were also in it,
Saw the animals gradually going deep in it,
Trees are getting shaved,
Houses are getting razed,
The plateau near my house is gone beneath.
The things happened so quickly,
And it was so horrifying,
that I forgot my own situation,
Now I am in pain and sorrow,
for what I have seen slowly,
Happening beneath my eyes.
With this grief and agony in my heart,
I turned back to get inside the house,
But I was knee deep in water,
And the water is rising faster,
I am late in making my action,
Now my life and my existence is in jeopardy,
And with the flashes of the scenes running back and forth,
Made me cripple,
I wasn’t able to run,
I gradually gave up to the faith,
But when I saw the death creeping near to me,
A terrible fear ran through me,
My face became pale,
And the blood started drying up,
I started weeping and prayed to spare me,
But a dark shadow engulfed me,
And a terrible wave galloped me.
I was desperately moaning,
Then suddenly my eyes opened,
My bed was completely dripping from the sweat,
For few minutes I couldn’t make out what’s going on,
But then I realized that it was a dreadful dream.
I closed my eyes and prayed to God,
Thanked him that it was a dream.
The swings you go through with a child
Are not unlike a coaster wild.
The terror, stark, when they arrive:
“How do I keep this kid alive?”
“What idiot allowed discharge,
And placed with me a care so large?”
When you have lost all hope of sleep,
And dark depression settles deep,
Then you will wonder in despair,
“How long, O Lord, too much to bear!”
But then, when first she smiles at you,
And suddenly dawn’s light breaks through!
Until the day you feed her meats
And gagging, retching, white as sheets,
You’re sorely pressed by toxic waste,
And all that fondness fades, erased
By thoughts you banish from your mind,
“How could I ever been so blind
To think this nasty little brute
Was a delight, a darling, cute?”
But then she talks, she says your name;
You’re launching to the moon again!
This surely is the pinnacle,
Parental heights you’ve scaled in full.
But comes the dark night of the soul;
Your daughter’s now thirteen years old.
Who is this alien life form?
When will your days resemble norm?
The slightest thing; all hell breaks loose:
A train that’s led by its caboose!
Back on the tracks, to wreck again,
Of late, you pray, “Why, God?” and “When,
When will this horrid phase be through?”
Completely unbeknownst to you,
This phase, designed, the needed fuel
To send her, gladly, off to school.
And then you sit, an empty home,
Berate yourself in brooding gloam
As night falls on parental days
And you imagine all the ways
that trouble will befall your child,
How by the world she’ll be defiled
And grieve and want her in your arms
In safe protection from all harm.
And after school, she needs you less
Until it’s time to buy the dress.
For her, elation and much joy!
For you, “And just who is this boy?”
But as you learn, she’s picked a man,
All goes according to the plan,
And you have this to comfort you,
For it is clear he loves her too.
So for a time, you are at peace;
The cycling has much decreased.
And yet, when they have fully grown,
Then suddenly you want them home.
You yearn for time spent with their kids
At intervals the miles forbid.
And if you’re being honest, too,
You’re hoping they’ll take care of you.
But looking back, it’s all a win;
You’d gladly take this ride again.
"An infatuation can grow into a steady affair through love and marriage, but if weakened through silence and indifference, love which is magical can prove critical too" ~ By Poet
An emotion born through chance
A spark lit through glance
Fanned through appearance
Grown through acquaintance
Confirmed through countenance
Blazed through romance
Interrupted through absence
Steadied through alliance
Tested through penance
Decreased through silence
Weakened through defiance
Exhausted through indifference
Worn out through intolerance
Snubbed out through violence
And ended up in divorce!
The birds of pray are on their way, in every beak the Word
(of ptomaine tomes by gnarly gnomes) whose meaning is obscured;
they roost aloof on every roof, obscene but always herd,
to tell the tale of Jonah’s whale and other rhymes absurd -
with shifty eyes, they’re giving whys for living life deferred.
While jackals lean, hyenas mean, and hungry crocodiles
feast in the lounge and never scrounge, lambs languish in the aisle.
The naive dare to say “Unfair, let’s try to reconcile.
We’ll all relax and weigh the facts, let justice spin the dial.”
With jaundiced monks and minds pre-shrunk, the jury is compiled.
The Rulers meet, First Ladies greet, the Kings appear in style.
Before the Court, their sins are short, they’re swept into a pile;
with diatribes and petty bribes, the jurors are beguiled.
The Herd entreats, the Shepherd bleats the verdict of the trial:
“You have no face. Stay in your place, stay in the Rank and File.
And wait instead, for when you’re dead, for riches afterwhile”;
Aristocrats add caveats while sailing down the Nile:
“If Minds are mugged or simply drugged with philtres in a vial,
then few indeed will fail to feed the Pharaoh’s Crocodile.”
The wordsmiths spin, the bankers grin and politicians smile,
the riff and raff, they never laugh, they mark a martyred mile.
The rituals are finished, all, here comes the Reverent Priest.
He leads the crowds beneath the clouds, and there the flock is fleeced
with crossing signs and bloody wines and consecrated yeast,
“The last are first, the rich are cursed.” (The leached remain the least.)
His step is gay without dismay before his evening feast;
he thanks the Lord for room and board and bows to Eden East;
he doesn’t sigh or wonder why the sins have not decreased.
The sinking sun is now undone, the sky is fading red.
A spider black hides in a crack and spins a silken thread
and babes will soon collapse and swoon, on curbs they call a bed;
with vacant eyes they'll fantasize and dream of gingerbread,
and so be freed, though still in need, from anguish of the dead.

The painted Words:
When a bamboo bends over backwards, keeping her peace,
it does not mean that her sense of balance’s decreased.
The wound that was inflicted though unintentional
would have healed had a passerby thought more considerately
than to snap it to rigid position after the storm has ceased.
What I wrote:
When one tries to understand just to keep the peace,
it does not mean that her sense or spirit’s decreased.
The hurt that was inflicted though unintentional
would have gone had another thought more considerately
than make a speech about it right after the trouble has ceased.

A deep breath in, a slow release,
Calming your mind, heart rate decreased.
Once tightened muscles, begin to let go,
Reminding yourself to take it slow.
Focusing on, your happy place,
Stress is gone, without a trace.
And as you dive into the real.
So differently you now feel.
This is dedicated to the other half
of that eternal ring,
The compliment to Adam known as
Eve,
A masterpiece painted for me;
If there should ever come a day where she
questions the authenticity of our test of time,
I’ll illustrate our history book to her;
Not wanting to jinx the future, but rather show
her, that just like the predetermined
moves in chess,
God played it, so that our hearts could
meet at checkmate;
For just the knowledge that Monday leads
into Tuesday,
Our first moment together doesn’t define a
coincidence,
But yet a scattered puzzle, that when
put together,
Made us fit perfectly;
I felt that invisible rope connecting us, and
as it decreased in size,
Our conversation began, and from there
the story told itself;
Stories like ours are the cornerstone
of answers people debate all their lives for;
Since the day I knew I had the ability to
care outside of myself,
I craved for it;
I envisioned us resembling two unfamiliar images
in another memorable portrait,
Then years later, having a proper introduction
in another memorable portrait,
Where we would discuss of our two circles meeting
previously,
And bring to life the world “fate”;
With 23 chapters already behind me,
I hope history writes another hundred years for
us, in plural skies.
Grandpa said you work hard all day
to do to yourself some good....
So, what you think as priory in your pay,
is a well deserved dish of good food!
For the less fortunate; one square meal.
And for the well off; another day's feast!
In diet classes, I say it’s not a big deal
to decline your favorites to have fat decreased!
At home, I sit with a well garnished pizza “extra cheese”.
a large chunk of ‘Black Forest cake’ to follow
and a glass of wine, selected and chilled, please.
I can't help, my stomach is an ever growing hollow!
So, do what I say but don't do what I do.
Rational on duty but mad for a ‘biryani”, spicy and hot!
Strong to my audience, but weak with a pint of home brew.
Excuse me, friends, I can’t resist much my cooking pot!
