Best Dangling Poems
What's a necktie
dangling for?
Too stiff, too thin
to be scarf, a bib
or an apron,
Too smooth to be
a hankie,
too short to be
a suicide noose
to contemplate on!

Dangling from each
the poets
their thoughts
what no soul expects
In the poet's mind's treasure
love
lust
pain
all
measures of desire
it's burst
too uncontrollable
fire

Some kind of Boccaccio
they open The Book,
borrowing thoughts
and stories from muses,
for it is a tome
in its entirety,
each muse, a Page, unamused,
to be plucked from tomb,
those sepia petals thrown up in the air,
unravel, the yarns like confetti,
land at the feet
of others
weeds and rows of perennials,
who bend like willows
backwards, they watch
unhooded falcons soar up
against the sky,
all shades of colour
the ever-moving clouds
like music, divine,
pull them up as if on strings
threaded through needlepoint
of a sharper mind,
they are carried away, drugged,
making wishes, like dandelions
blowing each the other,
they become - more - storks,
each a story, undone,
sewn and seeded
for the larger Ovid
in exchange for kinder souls
they dangle, each and every one
their spines entitled,
The Decameron
opened up,
lives fluttering,
they are read
as the in-betweens
some Prencipe Galeotto
engaged with Dante’s trust
Candide Diderot. ‘24

Ah, when men are men not mere fools
Then to be men means more than just
Dangling biological tools
Wise young women must hunt for clues
To find those few whom they may trust
Wise men who do not punt with fools
Care and crave those family jewels,
But palm them off if pawn you must,
Haggling the cost more handy tools
Don’t treat asses like they’re good mules
Asses get thrashed while mules stay trussed
Young women must know men from fools
Hearts and hands may both be cruel
Hard or soft likewise they may crush
Be wise: bad workers blame their tools
Beasts may prey, so may Beauty fool,
Betray their love, give in to lust…
Men and women may both be fools
Poor hearts, poor handling, blaming tools.

Limerick crochet: Once a dangling Dude got himself tattooed
Once a dangling Dude got himself tattooed
All over to make himself look pretty good
Only piece tattoo free
Was the retracting pPp:
So he installed stainless steel under hood.
He met a woman with scarce a stain
On her svelte body smooth as satin
So they locked jaws and torso:
Steel piece severed in grotto
Surgeons found tattooed insides: shark’s teeth and fin !

I sit here thinking, no future can I truly see,
always you keep me at bay, so insecure and stubborn your ways,
my heart waits in dread, while you leave it dangling on a thread.

what's a necktie dangling for?
too stiff, too thin to be a scarf,
a bib, or an apron,
too smooth to be a hankie,
too short to be a suicide noose
to contemplate on;
psychologists say it's a boy
scouts knot-tying hang-up
and status symbol,
but to folks doing laundry,
it's just a collar-tightener,
pure and simple;
designers say it's a grooming
enhancer used to express
a fashion statement,
but to butchers, it's an appendix
for which they harbor no
kind sentiment;
though unschooled in sartorial
elegance, viewing the necktie
as just a dangling thing,
a butcher like me secretly longs for
a chance to wear one and look
like a boardroom king.

Tail-rhyme
hello to the unknown pretender
goodbye to the overexposed defender
all my love to the taker, but never the resender
all the darkness has sharp edges
all the cavities have roadblocks for decoration
all the lesions have mercilessly given pledges
all the blackheads have blockaded all attempted restoration
i offer you flowers, but you want golden stairsteps
i offer you interchanges, but you want platinum destinations
i offer you clarity, but you want festive, material chaos
i offer you me, but you want the thorn crown of melancholy
knowing this in the now like POW!,
i depart not in frustration, but in a
Deeper Depth of the Discovery of Self....
all i can now do is offer you the warm side of an Alladin's lamp
i hope that the wishes you make will only beautify the maintenance of your personal satisfaction
if I who is ME cannot fulfill your individual zest with additional glee,
then i can only kiss the Welcome Mat of Prayer and welcome back the Internally Divine Player....

I don't even know what happiness is,
anymore.
Today, you broke my heart.
Even if we talk things out tonight,
what about tomorrow?
You're so much like night and day,
who knows if we fix this....
How you're going to react, when
the sun comes up again.
You know how much I love you,
and am willing to fight for us.
I just wish you had the same
feelings as I do.
This is so difficult right now,
that I can't even think straight.
I have never been so hurt like
this.
I thought I was, but the way
I reacted today was off the wall.
And I had every right to behave
as I did.
You gave me barely any time, to
even sort out my thoughts when
I came back home.
You gave me a time limit, which
isn't easy on me, when it's being
done on your own.
So where does that leave us?
You ended things with me today,
yet you still want to help me.
I don't want to just be your friend.
I don't want to go one day without
telling you that I love you, want you,
need you.....
But right now, I feel like I'm dangling.

A medallion moon adorns ebony skies
as it limpid light hangs
like a gleaming gold doubloon
dangling dreamlike
under a chandelier of sparkling stars.

Alright, okay, enough is enough
It's supposed to be warm, what's with this stuff
Still wearing woolies
Protecting my goodies
Without 'em, icicles would be dangling from my butt

Limerick
Two calabashes of milk
loaded ready for pleasure
dangling as ripe paw paws
swollen as tortured frog
are within immediate reach
I ask for a pint to remove thirst
but she tells me in the face
“You have hard brown teeth
your stomach is for bones
this milk is for the toothless
and those with tube stomach
go ask my father and mother
get permission from God
as from me, no access
calabash is for the elect.”

Dangling in Space
Finally need to get a few things straight
The longer we put off and have to wait
Right now is best time to do something
Put off and more loss and pain will bring.
In the here and now we should believe
Which will be best time for us to receive
Maximum return on each investment
And problems in future start to prevent.
Why wait around until last minute my friend?
When rope we are about to reach its end
Then fact you will have to finally face
Did find yourself lost dangling in space.
Is this where you find yourself sometimes?

Couplet
Every time something breaks
like the pipe in the wall
we heard gushing
this morning
my wife wants to call
a repairman because
I can’t fix anything
except split infinitives
and dangling participles
and I usually agree
but this time
I mention the kayaks
in the attic and say
why don’t we hop
in the kayaks
open the front door
and sail down the street
wave to the neighbors
cutting their grass
planting their peonies
worrying about crime
and shout best of luck
we’re tired of the good life
we’re sailing away.
