Best Cruising Poems
By duskfall, I cruise with the sky,
throwing life’s pebbles unto ripples
of yearning… and she lifts her veil against
the moist air fondling the blue of night
unto my pale meadow…she whispers
before an interlude, refreshing my senses;
a warm potion to my languid thoughts
and pierced refrains, delicately whisking
shadows and cluttered notes: her luster
bequeathing new facets of hue
and a gleam for sweet beginnings
reaching for my wet skin with a melody
like a passage from tear's soundtracks,
then to grasp my wish on her halo.
Laying on columns of grass, I rise
to feel the sky cruising with me in the meadow.

Lighted Chain Bridge glints, enlivens, sparkles
Holding in view magnificent Matthias Church
And hillsides of Budapest in distinctive posture
Enchanted by milieu of ambiance on visions
In cultural rejuvenation of palaces and castles
Illuminating echoes of eclectic architecture
Gracing river banks in spectacular grandeur
As you gaze beneath emerald green water
Mesmerized by panorama on Danube river;
Where brilliant images dip, shimmer, and glisten
Celebrating renaissance as musing stars beckon
Whispers of couples voicing romantic passions
Watching river-dance twirling in each bounce
Attuned to composition of gentle water sounds
Curling tiny waves where golden dust glimmers;
As we move bit closer, holding hands together
Reminiscing of love younger-- incessant charmer
Conversing with eyes, kissing happy smiles
While congruent evocations consent with pleasure
Bashful of peeking moon encroaching on lovers.

NOTE:
A spectacular view emerges at night in Budapest with glittering palaces, buildings, and city lights that dance on Danube waters. The lighted Chain Bridge, Matthias Church, and the hillsides are among the attractions that mesmerize visitors, especially at night.
60's CRUSING IN WESTERN KANSAS
Around the square, Camaros belching flame,
in hot pursuit of Mustangs on the prowl,
we'd change the rules but never change the game
and love was what brought on the midnight howl!
Two sisters in a Plymouth, Daddy's curse;
hair rolled up tight into a flowered bun,
with gold from Colorado for their thirst,
would look much better as the night drove on;
and at the magic moment, loosed the hair--
the swap was on--and to the back seat of
the rolling boudoir waiting for them there,
as echoed from the pipes, the sound of love!
Their skinny feet left marks of show and tell;
For weeks the boys would pray, she wouldn't swell.

My passion for the last 10 years,
is unlike none I've had before!
It brings me untold pleasure,
there's no pasttime, I love more!
Sailing the Caribbean, on a Cruise Ship,
with my family and some friends.
Visiting several island resorts,
it's a vacation I highly recommend!
These beautiful ships are gigantic,
with so many things to do.
Accomodations are fantastic,
and service is excellent too!
The meals are varied and scrumptous,
no matter what your taste.
I just let myself go and enjoy them,
though they seem to go to my "waist"!
As a group, you can rent a catamaran,
or swim with Dolphins, at some of the stops.
You can ride horses or lie on the beach.
Buy gifts or souvenirs, at the various shops.
Cruises to me, are exciting.
I mean from beginning to end.
So much so, when each cruise is over,
I can't wait to do it again!
CRUISING ALONG THE SEA WAVES © Tanka
White sheets billow forth
Winds drive the sale boaters out
Through deeper crowned waves
Sea-tides ‘might’ held fast by reigns
Not complying right or left!
BURN © Tanka
Touch fire it does hurt
A flame sends comfort borders
Big fires small fires flare
Oxygen’s freeing from time
Be made aware to confine!
TICK-CLOCK TIMING © Tanka
Sixty counts one minute
Sixty counts one hour stronger
Counting days and nights
Mind-boggling black holes suck all
Into an infinity!
Molly maiding and cruising outside,
Responsibilities still abide,
Write a poem here and there on the run,
Slip a post in for a little fun,
Productive day I can view with pride.
CRUISING ON CLOUD NINE
hills like green seas
skies lower clouds
like living rooms
furniture crowds
suffocating
simplicity
rooms accessories
with lifelike décor
pitiful candles
flying into nothing
small flames of delight
stay bright then flitter
dimmer into darkened
stop places of dread
no dreams…
is my life intriguing
perhaps appeasing
to your worsened
state of being
well…
I am on cloud 9
cruising…..
not caring
or
amusing
I hook myself
to only me
sticky candy
and
full treats

I climbed aboard my Chevy with my Baby by my side,
I started up the engine and I took her for a ride,
We cruised the streets of Van Nuys; I was showing off real proud,
My Chevy and my Baby, both were pleasing to the crowd.
We stopped to get a burger and a root beer and some fries,
She told me that she loved me, as she looked into my eyes,
I felt so very happy as she told me how she felt,
Another Baby 'captured' and a notch upon my belt.
The ladies were the reason that I cruised the boulevard,
I wanted to be 'famous', and it wasn't very hard,
My Chevy and a 'Honey' were the things that made me free,
Was all I ever wanted, and was all that I would be.
Now, each and every moment was a pleasure and a thrill,
But little did I know that it would soon be all uphill,
For each and every 'Honey' understood what I was like,
And soon, before I knew it, I was riding on a bike.
The ladies got together and decided it was time,
To teach this boy a lesson, (how I hate this lousy rhyme!),
They found a way to separate me from my Chevrolet,
They stole my car and blew it up, (so this is how I pay!).
And now I am so humble as I ride upon my bike,
I've always hated losers, now I know what it is like,
No longer cruising Van Nuys, I am off to Disneyland,
I'll have a talk with Mickey Mouse, and we will take a 'stand'.
Cruising the hardened streets,
Inhaling the bouquet
Of lively, wicked San Francisco,
Where chicks in heels
Somehow reveal,
An eloquent, famished soul,
Tending to knights,
On shiny pretty nights,
Cloaked in their fabulous
Gaberdine impressions,
Longing to seek acceptance
From ravenous forces,
Among the supple horde,
With few examples,
Ones rich in forsaken noble urges,
Change the world,
By simple stroking,
New rules invoking
A daring type of protocol,
Measured in leaps and mounds,
Severed from frenzied, mangled morals,
The kind you like to chew,
And spit out,
In order to salvage,
Your sense of decency,
You claim resiliency,
And return this fresh-flavored tab
To its rightful owner,
Juice seeping,
Remotely flowing into gaps
Which never intend to heal,
Let alone stop,
For closure means
The end of languid trepidation,
Edges clear themselves
Of thorny, pointless brush,
Seeking conflagration,
From any ignition
Willing to play the part,
And we sit, knowing,
That classy, shiny edifices
Like to devour
Our sense of wanting more,
Not for ourselves,
But for everyone,
And everything
That truly matters.

Soothing light from sun...
Cruising along the coast wind
where green fields flourish.

I want to travel the roads
when the leaves start changing
and the colors are amazing.
The air is cooler
as the fall season rolls in.
Nature does slow down
just to honor the changes.
Summer clothes get put away.
New toys come out to play.
Oh what a wonderful day
cruising with the top down.
The sun warms the cool ground
and layers get unbound.
Yes, there is beauty all around.
Cruising To Insanity
I did it! I finally got a newer car and I am very proud
Calling my friends and family now, to tell them so out loud
Its green, has a sunroof, just perfect, just for me
PT Cruiser is my car that has made me so very happy!
A little bit bumpy, but I’m told because it’s a box car
Don’t know if I could take, all that jumping if I drive far
What? A flat? I must have ran over glass or a nail
Will get it fixed because I don’t want to catch the train rail
Again? It’s flat? Well how can that be?
Don’t know why, maybe the tires are faulty
No, something’s wrong, this happens every week
Tires are good but there seems to be a slow leak
Maybe someone’s letting out the air in my tires
I wish they would stop because my temperature’s on fire!
Four times this month, I have to find the blue book
So I go to the computer just to take a look
Most complaints written, were about the tires losing air
Not my new baby that I was bragging about here & there!
Wow! There you go! This car had me saying profanity
But now I know it’s the tires, which had me cruising to insanity!
Our life book is loaded up with lots of love.
A sentence here, a paragraph there; even a chapter pair;
Hearing wedding bells, sharing honeymoon embraces, alone times and skis;
Other romantic tales of ships with sails cruising exotic seas.
Children churning ice cream with us the old-fashioned way.
Grandchildren rushing to our knees; hugging us at the door.
The sadness of seeing the passing of warm parental love
And all the bittersweet memories that a lifetime may endure.
Our love will flow on through wrinkled skin and jowly chins.
Love is beyond feeling, it is a way of life.

Without a care in the world no regrets
Optimistic, excited, an holiday one craves
Roaming from one Country to the next
Living a life of luxury on the ocean waves
Drinking champagne, fine dining, unperplexed,
Cabins with gorgeous views aquatic sculptures
Relaxing during the day and partying by nights
Under star lit skies, experiencing different cultures
Investigating new frontiers, sampling new delights
Satisfying my curiosity, unknown adventures,
Earth will be my oyster, southern and northern lights.

CRUISING WITH TRANE...
(Apropos John Coltrane)
Sometimes
in a blue note mood
i take the A-Trane
into a soprano night
And listen
to moonlight thrills
of beautiful sable birds
Monking around
with satin dolls
in search
of a love supreme:
Spiritual cruising with Trane
is still one of my favorite things.
