" Bahama Nation"

A nation of peace,a nation of pride
A nation that's spread far and wide.
A nation of hope,a nation of joy,
Thats free for all, man, women ,girl and boy.

A nation to give,a nation to take
A nation filled with reggae, socca, calypso and rake and scrape.
A nation of colors; black,gold,aqua....sometimes called blue
can be seen everywhere above land and under sea too.

A nation of democracy and old english style, but things sure have changed if you
look up our file.
From outside rock stoves,to TV,radio, computers and wi-fi connectivity.........
I'd say that a long way from July 10 1973.

An nation filled with hospitality, love and history,
Arawaks,Caribs and American Indians are the basis of our nationality.
A nation where Tourism is number one, because of the Bounty of sand sea and sun.

Yes,a nation of Youth, sports ,culture, uniqueness and island fashion trends,
Like native Androsia our own local blend......and straw work and junkanoo, the list has no end.
This nation of beauty, splendor and self defense ;yes its celebarting its own INDEPENDENCE.

For Harry Horsman Lisa Ricci and I Am Anaya and You - Judging2

Dedication is to my Friends who avoid judging:

You are not the judge
But judge you must
For earthly matters and such
Leave hell to satan or demons
But Heaven in fragrances of your words:
Epitaph, apology, poetry, piety, congrats - -
Even angels fall, why not us (Adamic) mortals -
When pride and ego explode in ungodly challenge!

NoTE:
Between writing, editing, posting this simple offering ... the good & bad in Me & of South Africa today, asserted themselves: our electricity brownouts & blackouts affect internet, editing, posting, and consistent connection. My one service provider, MTN, has been back today for a few hours now (after more than a weak of zero internet connectivity). You pay a price: seeing many versions of this JUDGEMENT poem. Shalom

Premium Member The Friends I Value Most

The friends I value most are “built” like me.
By this, I mean they much enjoy friendship’s connectivity!
They also are transparent; their authentic selves shine through.
My best friends are thoughtful. To each other we stay true.
We commiserate with one another; we are always there
for each other in the good times and the bad (and my friends have flair!)
We understand each other well; disagreements are quite minor.
Cherished are my constant friends, for they could not be finer!

Of all my friends, there are but a few that qualify as best!
One such friend, a lovely poetic soul, at least fifteen years now I have known.
My senior and early mentor, she has stood time’s friendship test.
Lovely on the outside too, as an airline hostess, the friendly skies she’s flown!

June 17, 2018 for Carolyn Devonshire's Qualities You Admire in Friends Contest
The friend mentioned in last verse is Connie Marcum Wong!

Labyrinth of Sighs

Labyrinth of Sighs

Wondering through a labyrinth of sighs
More platitudes with attitudes that never question why
A litany of afterthoughts about where we go when we die
An emboldened range of rude retorts refuting the reasons why I cry

A canon blazing wartime over a century ago
The night sky spent stargazing, wondering what we really know
A multinational conglomerate just phasing out more duplicitous advertisements that “flow”
A hungry orphan on a street corner, with nowhere else to go

Self-aggrandising promotion everywhere I seem to look
The wealthy uprising causing commotions, celebrities writing books
A typhoon on the island coast, Turkey on the day the earth shook
A morbid day that hurts the most,
An undignified Capatalist crook

The arrogant certainty of western superiority
The way the monotony forms around typecast minorities
The precedence of material goods conspiring to take global priority
The contradictions of individualism that consume the vast majority

The medical anomalies and surgical advancements
The incredible atrocities of cosmetic enhancements
A formidable ferocity of genetics and semantics
An incredible philosophy of frenetic theological pedantics

A sincere gaze of solidarity into another persons eyes
A mere phase of different polarities that use scientific graphs to signify
A Purple Haze of creative improvisational genius that cannot be quantified
A confused daze of inconvenience as another witness is proven to have lied

Returning to the central point of a theoretical discourse
Concerning a fundamental joint possible hypothetical recourse
A burdened soldier after war suffering the agony of remorse
An ancient boulder from the shores of civilisations geographic historical course

A curious mathematician, an inspiring original think
The spurious contradictions of a political candidate on the brink
A furious proposition concerning a scandalously placed eye wink
Human connectivity and the endless search for the missing link

Premium Member Love Richard Restak

Connectedness,Connectedness,Connectedness is the best.Richard explains the reality of Connectedness! Richard is the best when it comes to explaining "Connectivity,Connections in "The Human Brain"through the entire "Human Body"as we learn about the study of "Brainology"! Richard is a Brainologist, and he can analyze any "Psychologist! Richard explains ,psychogenesis, neurogenesis, psychodynamics, psychometrics, psycholinguistics to show his tender care for our 'psychological welfare! Richard Restak does really care! Are you aware? The "Caregiver;Richard Restak made me aware that of his needed care!!! Richard connects "The Brain to the person, and "The person to the brain to keep us from going insane!!! Richard Restak is his name, and being sane helps "America" to "Remain"a "Democracy",and let freedom continue, because Richard might say a word to cause a "Dictator" to be taken off of "The Power" menu!Richard has studied the effects of what the brain thinks on what the body does:Richard studies what is ,and what was!Richard has come to some conclusions about what will be if we do not take care of our "Brains, and our "Bodies"! Do you feel me? I think I will learn more and "Listen" to Richard, because he really has helped me! This poem is true: Richard Restak is a "Blessing" that "The Lord God Almighty has "Connected" to man and woman kind and all of "Humanity!!!

Future Leaders

Boy: When I grow,
I want to be a Leader
Bring positive change,
And cancel the mindset of corruption;
Education shall be my priority,
As the illiteracy rate shall drop.

Girl: When I grow,
Roads connectivity shall be my focus
From interior to city shall be paved,
As citizens shall enjoy the facility of electricity.
The poverty rate shall drop,
People shall live in sincere harmony;
Injustice is not acceptable,
Anyone found guilty with unique evidence,
Shall be imprisoned for ten years.

Boy: When I shall grow,
I want to be a Leader
The motive of "I, me and myself,"
Shall come to an end.
Citizens shall enjoy every milk and honey
We will not even need gunmen on streets,
Switzerland shall be our example,
As Israel shall be our role model in "giving".

Girl: When I grow,
I want to be a Leader
The "Open Door Policy" shall be reborn;
All leaders children shall attend Public school,
As taxes on citizens will decrease.
Poor shall have absolute right!

I Shall Not Cry of Sorrow

I shall not cry on the shoulder that supports me,
I shall not weep for this sweet passing,
through the celebrations and pitfalls,
             the heartaches and achievements,
    joys and sorrows,
you gave me inner peace and spurred my creativeness.
Everything one touches becomes connected,
with every outreached hand of kindness
     we,
        as a society,
              grow,
                   and become one.
From connectivity we live on
in the teachings we pass to those still here
and the expressive creations we leave behind.

So I will not weep on this shoulder I lean on,
I will not cry over your passing
                 because you live on
in every one of my pen strokes,
each note I offer to the crowd,
every ounce of healing I give to someone.
Your energy surrounds
        and consoles us,
   even as we gather together
to say this bitter goodbye,
as you join the souls of our ancestors
whom hold us up at our worst
and light the way in our darkest hour.
            Our lighthouse,
in the maelstrom of life.

I can't cry on this shoulder you give me,
I won't weep from your passing,
for you could take what was discarded,
         almost reinvent it
with a flourish of your whimsy.
Though you had gotten lost in your travel
it doesn't affect what you gave me,
       for because of you,
    my touch
        alters the future,
                   every nuance,
                      Every Verse,
                           EVERY MELODY I CREATE,
can destroy or build up what is our now,
and I want it to heal it.

So I shall not weep on the shoulder that holds me,
I shall not cry because you have left us,
for our time here is ours
and what we do with it,
how we touch the Earth is all that matters.
Passing is just the next step in life
that rebuilds the closeness of humanity.

UNCONDITIONAL LOVE
By Curtis Johnson

Over the years, through the valleys, over the hills and mountains, I have come to believe. In good times and bad, in stormy experiences that made me sad, or in seasons of joy that made me glad; In the dark nights of pain, or in the brightest days when I thought that I never deserved such  blessed gains. In times when I was spanked by the moon, frowned  upon by the stars, or awakened and kissed by the rising sun; When life was tough, and every path it seems was rough; when some dreams did not come true, but crashed at my feet; Through poverty and disrespect; through pits of despair, and periods when it seems that heaven itself had gone silent;

There are the moments and fazes in life when we thought we had all the answers; but yet we fail to even ask the right questions. So in the midst of this life of beauty and beast, and this battle of bitter and sweet, what is it that I have come to believe?

One of the things that I have come to believe is that neither happiness nor success in life is ever achieved alone, nor yet in isolation. I have come to believe that God purposed that an understanding of duality is greater than the concept of singularity. We require connectivity in both the natural and spiritual worlds, which portray to us that everyone needs someone else.

As a child I not only had someone else, but I had someone in my life through whose eyes I could do no wrong. If God smiles on such a one with such a person, and our eyes are open to behold such love, one will never forget it. God forbid that such a person should ever be your pastor or your teacher, nor yet your father or your mother. If there is any notion, please perish the thought that that person would ever be your sister or your brother.

In my case, grandma was always there for me, believing in me, encouraging me, and making me feel truly special. I beheld and received such love, and I can only hope and pray that I shall be found worthy of such love. May I also give love unconditionally. cj010308

Divinity

Finally..Mr.Whitman, I understand as my journey is symbolic to yours;
but, through my poverty-strickened doors.
Fighting your human instincts...
while learning your internal glow within. Frightening, enlightening, inviting his omnipresence in
and as your reward he transforms you into him.
Breathing your FIRST breath again.
Loving life from the core of the earth to the pull of the moon. Stuck in the middle yet
understanding all of the connectivity; because I'm living in a state of Divinity.

not of death but of life ~ quote by poet

                                       An allegorical dream vision
                                            through nerve fibers
                                          as thin gold undulating
                                Remembered through a tender prayer,
                                                 not mournful
                                       Opal's tears have been dried
                                               in the soul of time

                                               Tomb inscription
                                                written in Latin:
                                               Fertility, renewal,
                                                 truth, dreams
                                               and connectivity
                                                 to the divine

                                               Her ardent heart,
                                                blooms in June
                                          An atmosphere of peace
                                           Red roses for the tomb

Dazzled

Dazzled by the church this christmas time again,
So many services on TV, reverends saying when,
So many cards imaging the baby, angels, sheep,
Who were supposedly under god’s control, creep.

Pastors reading the bible to me, the sacred nativity,
Invites to carol services in the mail for connectivity,
Memories of protracted christmas eve meetings,
Where the gospel was also preached for musings.

But Father Christmas looms with love and cheer,
For everyone, every race, any nation of any gear;
And your diversity, if you’re a child, is respected,
By that adviser of gift choice, your one’s selected.

If I were a writer,
I'd write about harmony,
about connectivity,
about togetherness,
about love and tenderness,
about people, places, and nations,
about how we all can live in peace.

If I were a writer,
I'd write about liberty and unity,
about brotherhood,
about fellowship.

If I were a writer,
I'd write about commonality,
about the power of community,
about peace and tranquility.

Yes, I'd write about these things and more
until mankind has had its fill of conflict and war,
until the desires for peace outshine the darkness of warfare.

Not claiming to be a writer, but from the depths of my heart, I write.
And may I and you do our best to work, to write, to shine the light
in dark places until The Christ rises in every heart and reigns eternally.
