Best Chalet Poems

I Belong To the Lake

I wander far from the coal-tar smog
and buzzing sounds of the city
to a place where I can smell
fresh-cut hay in a tepid breeze.
I stroll through a woodland path
winding its way along evergreen trees.
Like a silver-lime leaf my heart
settles in Willington waters
I know I belong to the lake.
In distance white butterflies follow
the whistling tunes of an old railway train.
Infront of me set sail long canal boats
Behind me dogs bark,men walk
A grey-haired lady stirs crystals of sugar
in bone-china cups filled with english tetley tea.
The out-stretched arms of dandelions
welcome home foraging honey-bees
A Peak District Chalet in the little mountain village
awaits my return,my forgotten pen
 and new sunset dreams

Inspired by my last trip to England.

Premium Member The Old Rusty Gate

Withered memories invigorate, rekindling rhythm of heart,
Grabbing hold of me to retrieve elation of forgotten past
Throbbing in enchantment, treasured memoirs now impart,
Where decaying house stands, bearing grief seasons cast.

Up the hill I trek, gazing pastures glistening in dawning day
As glint of dawn slowly scintillates horizon shrouded gray
Amid mooing calls of cows, where mango trees gently sway,
Waltzing echoes of yore, clucking~ clattering hens convey.

How regally it welcomes me, my cherished childhood place
Beckoning as it peeks through the creaking old metal gate
That opens wide its fatigued frame, exuding welcome grace,
Lamenting of rusted hinges, squeaking of weathered fate.

Buoying on impulses serene, you enter boldly realm green
Fixated in pristine meadows~ burbling tenor of streams,
Holding my indulgent embrace, there you proudly preen,
For being blessed to own endearing piece of idyllic dreams;

Envisioning an intimate chalet, built on love felt and known,
Where cattle graze, birds built nests, animals freely roam,
Among paradise of orchards, vines, bedazzling as it’s grown,
While rusty old gate, loath to moan, beholds bliss of home.

Premium Member A Birthday Picnic

In a secluded tidy sandy bay
In the delightful month of May
My love and I spent a whole day.
I had to show without delay
And thus, my feelings would convey
That my love was not hearsay.

I gave her a lovely bouquet,
With a red rose, a fragrant spray,
Bubbly champagne for her birthday,
Delicacies I had to pay
And fruit we ate without delay.
Celebrate her fine soul so gay.
Pure happiness for us that day.
How we kissed and sang, mere child's play.
Ran across the sand, a mock fray.
Admired the flight of a lone jay,
We rested under the sun's ray,
Then plunged into the sea to stay
Until crimson evening we'll lay.
Time up but happy for the day,
Retired to our rented chalet.

Premium Member Dreams of What May Have Been

I’d love to sit on a big leather chair,
And smoke a fat Cuban cigar.
And own a Monet,
And a little chalet,
And drive a red hot Jaguar.

But, alas, here I sit on an old wooden bench,
Sucking a ciggy filled with tar.
And my art's on a doormat,
In a cheap council flat,
And I drive an old rusted car.

Premium Member Chalet On My Mind

A wooden porch looks old like Grammy’s chair
That rocks us of fables, miming her voice;
While a neighbor spoofs wolf legends, beware!
Under the moonlight dim, sweet hours rejoice.

How evening’s ray now settles on the ground
While urban traffic booms, only to impose
On our chalet shading youth’s prints around;
A moment when life blossomed like a rose.

   "Perfect Partner"

as vibrant aroma of ecstasy explodes
pure pleasure of passion ignites and implodes
a gentle charisma embellishes a true charmer
you shall always reign as my White Knight in shining armour.

once you kidnapped my heart and released my soul
gathering each broken half and created a whole
tasting love at first sight you fashioned our love nest
and everyday I thank God for this treasure; I'm blessed.

with a flowery bouquet' you brighten my space
as we share precious moments playing kissey face
in sickness and health you caressed hurt and pain
in times of turmoil your strength held me sane.

a beautiful essence encircles our tender emotions
as water cascades into beauty of oceans
a loving companion, a lover, a friend,
a heavenly husband whose love never ends.

you finish my sentence as we share sweet dreams
embracing our children as golden sunbeams
caring and thoughtful are always your attire
forever you constantly satisfy my heart's desire.

a romantic Romeo has captured his fair Juliet
chemistry is as potent as the day we first met
you intoxicate my senses as a fragrant wine's bouquet'
you are my endless love within our cherished chalet'.

Premium Member Cowboyin'

Cowboyin' seems so romantical as seen in th' pitcher shows.
Ain't a lick uv truth in that as ever' workin' cowpoke knows.
Movie stars is paid big bucks with a fancy saddle fer thar horse,
An' always ride off into th' sunset with a purty gal, uv course!

Real cowpokes don't wear designer jeans er fancy rhinestone suits.
You can tell a real buckaroo by th' looks uv his scruffy boots!
He's rousted out uv his bunk at th' break uv day;
(Seems it wuz jes' an hour er so ago, since he'd hit th' hay!)

He ain't got no time to strum a git'tar an' croon to a purty gal.
You'll usually find him ropin' an' a-sweatin' in a hot corral.
More'n likely them big stars lunch on caviar at th' country club,
While a cowpuncher eats beans an' bacon fer his daily grub!

In them western movies, handsome dudes ride tall in th' saddle.
A cowpoke has bowlegs frum years ridin' his cayuse astraddle.
Stunt men are handy to take th' falls fer fragile movie stars,
But a cowboy has to rough it an' can prove it by his scars!

When day is done th' movie cowboy goes home to his plush chalet.
A workin' cowboy goes to his humble bunkhouse at th' end uv day.
Cowpokes wonder why they cowboy - it shore ain't fer th' pay,
But they'll keep on a-ropin' and a-ridin' til they're old an' gray!

I'll take you on a journey
There's places we can see
I picked a few I think you'll like
I hope that you'll agree

Let's watch a blazing sunset
From somewhere on a shore
Just you and I together
I couldn't ask for more

Let's eat Godiva chocolate
From a Belgian chocolatier
I mean flying there to Brussels
Not going somewhere here

Let's sip some French press coffee
At a Paris street café
Where afternoons just mosey on
And an hour lasts a day

Let's swim on the Amalfi coast
That part of Italy
Supposedly is beautiful
Take it in with me

Let's spend some time in Switzerland
I'll rent a small chalet
With a picture window looking out
On Alps not far away

Let's tour United Kingdom
Welsh castles everywhere
We'll walk the English countryside
And breathe the Scottish air

We'll get our steps in easily
Walking hand in hand
I'll get to be alone with you
Wouldn't that be grand?

Pack a bag, we'll be away
It might be for awhile
I'll take care of everything
Just let me see your smile

"snowflakes were falling winter frosty wonderland and we said I do"

We fell in love and were to be married in February,
So we planned a winter theme wedding for that sweet day;
Oh, it was so beautiful with snow gently falling down on us,
Every time I see a delicate, snowflake I recall our wedding.

The ceremony was performed outside in nature,
Under a clear tent with amazing decorations placed;
We embraced the scenery and each other and said I do,
Bells rang out and we drank champagne to cheers.

The reception room was full of frosted branches,
And icy blue lighting created a dreamy, gorgeous quality;
We truly embraced the season with garlands of green,
Icicle like crystals, pine cones, and candles on the tables.

We looked into each others eyes, this love was ever,
No two, it seemed could love each other more:
And is anything more romantic than a blanket of snow,
Our wedding pictures a memory, oh my flowers were lovely.

My dress was so pretty, I will keep it forever,
At the reception we served frosty cocktails to suit the season;
And to eat we had all types of comfort food to try,
Music was a band and when we had our dance, I was a princess.

Our wedding night was spent in a winter chalet,
With a fireplace crackling we held each other with love;
The honeymoon, however, was a tropical escape in warmth,
We truly were a couple in love, and created memories forever.

Premium Member Time To Book a Holiday

It's time to book a holiday
Where we'll go I cannot say
A beach resort, or bush retreat
Maybe a chalet cosy, sweet

Maybe somewhere across the seas
In Bali they tell me "life's a breeze"
Somewhere I haven't been before
Same, same, it can be a bore

Now I know, I have a plan
Perhaps I'll take a pin in hand
Stick it somewhere on a map
This could do the trick may haps

But I want to go somewhere
Just anywhere I just don't care

Hi
Dinah-mite!
What a doll you are!
Dressed in your purple outfit
With your long blonde hair, you are pretty!
You play in your beach house, or your ski chalet
You can ride your bike, or drive your car
With many outfits to wear
You are such a doll!
Dinah-mite
Hi!
My
Dinah-mite
Are you out to play?
What are you doing today?
I can pose you any way I want.
You’ve given Barbie a run for her money!
However, I say it’s a pity
That you’re not made anymore
A thing of the past
Dinah-mite
Bye!

You’re no longer here
Since nineteen seventy-five
So long, Dinah-mite!

This is a double-odd rictameter with a senryu trailer.

I crave for them through sprays of light
To see the vignettes in my mind
Their warm love hugs me day or night

Inside a chalet large and bright
I relive heart’s joys so entwined
I crave for them through sprays of light

My grandma's laughter soft and sprite
My grandpa's face, firm yet kind
Their warm love hugs me day or night

Those bedtime stories fill my sight
Hide-and- seek thrills, now hard to find
I crave for them through sprays of light

We pluck sweet fruits with all our might
Till weak trees fade with old age grind
Their warm love hugs me day or night

These souvenirs of life’s blessed flight
Finds me clinging to years all signed
I crave for them through sprays of light
Their warm love hugs me day or night.

Numbers In My Life

The number seven carries me away
Where imagination and numerology have a stay.
Dreams live celebrating each new day
Free from realities and evil’s prey.

Seven years of praying brought marriage my way.
But that was only one life’s foreplay.
Seven years later, a dreadful fray.
Divorcement angered ended love’s array.

Forgive seven times seven at hurts’ buffet.
Swallowing pain in self’s causeway.
Asking God for a happier ray –
Still hiding hope in a lonely chalet.

The number seven also served Yahweh.
Six days to create, then, came rest day.
The Book of Revelations is smitten by “the seven” foray.
Saints who know their sevens might reach Heaven someday.

Does the number seven govern my life? Nay!
I calculated my destiny number this way:
Using the name I was given on my birth-day,
I assigned numbers to letters as charts outlay.

{[(4+1+5+5) and (1+5+5) and (3+9+1+5+6+6+9+4)]
= {(15) and (11) and (43)}
= [(1+5=6) and (1+1=2) and (4+3=7)]
= [6+2+7=15] = [1+5] = 6} LOL! Number six! Hurray!!!

Destiny number six says I will be happy and gay
While living life with a humanitarian inlay.
Artistic endeavors through my life sashay.
Creating beauty, by providence, my life’s mainstay.

But over to destiny number seven I stray.
Sharing findings and seeking knowledge, I daresay.
Two attributes that stayed with me along life’s runway.
Numbers six and seven blesses me…at least half way!

Austrian Mountains

God's mighty fortress reigns,
Mountains jagged and tall,
Snow on the peaks of the mountains,
The fields of green with the edelweiss and wild flowers
The waterfall tumbles down the mountainside,
Fresh and healing, beautiful to look at,
The performer sings a song of God,
Which caresses the mountains and valleys,
You are enamored by his performance,
He is very handsome to look at,
A prince of the mountains,
The beautiful and spacious chalet nearby,
The princess dressed in a lovely dirndl,
They bring much happiness to mankind,
They are blessed by god, thankful appreciation,
