Wake up in the afternoon, I go to sleep at two,
I'm spending all my time just wasting time, nothing else to do,
Too doo, too doo.

I'm looking for a part time job, but (ha) not very hard,
'Cause I've got better things to do than do better things
Without you.

'Cause you're my sunshine, shining all the time,
Brighten up my day, chase my cares away,
I'll spend my lifetime soaking up your rays,
Living in a sunny Summer daze.

Eat, drink, sleep the day away, okay, all day, all right, good night
Tomorrow morning you'll be yawning, but I won't,
'cause I don't...

Wake up 'til the afternoon, I go to sleep at two,
I'm spending all my time just wasting time, nothing else to do

'Cause you're my sunshine, shining all the time,
Brighten up my day, chase my cares away,
I'll spend my lifetime soaking up your rays,
Living in a sunny Summer daze.

Carefree and footloose at the top of the world,
Now I'm at the bottom as Autumn takes my sun away,

Away off in the future lies my Summer, so it seems,
I'll just sing my song of Summer daze only in my dreams...

'Cause you're my sunshine, shining all the time,
Brighten up my day, chase my cares away,
I'll spend my lifetime soaking up your rays,
Living in a sunny Summer daze.

Premium Member Carefree Days of Childhood

Today we are having fun at the sea
Mummy and daddy, Tommy and me.
White topped waves tickle our toes
Salty sea water splashes our clothes.
Mummy and daddy are relaxing on the beach
Tommy and I play happily, not far out of reach.
The weather is cold and clouds block the sun,
still nothing will stop us all having some fun.
Daddy has a net and we searched in a rock pool
We found a crab and sea shells, the water was cool.
Mummy has packed a picnic for us to eat,
how I am enjoying our beach day treat.
I hope the clouds disappear and the sun peeps through
then we can enjoy the beach beneath skies so blue.
We can’t rely on the weather even thought it’s June
it was fun being together and we can come back soon.

Sometimes I wish I didn't care
Wish I could just walk away
Without feeling like
A traitor
Without feeling like
A quitter

They don’t even know
My clandestine battles
They don’t even know
The smile on my face
Is my weapon
Against the world
And it's opinion

To be lost
Must be awesome at times
And to be discovered
The reward

I sometimes wish I was lost

Then I know
No one expects me to be a pillar
No one expects me to be the rock

I sometimes feel I need to be

In between all this I miss being
The carefree me

sordid floors
dark paths
lily scented nights
crispy country air
crackling fireplaces
shadows under the moon
sounds of the night
silence in the dark
mingling
tangoing
in perfect pitch
the harmonious beat
of intoxicating drums
the twirling dance
of dizzying
village
love

Premium Member Bougainvillea

Lovely blossoms of bougainvillea
Under a moonlight serenade
Ostensibly I contemplate the root
Of the affinity drawing me to you

Abiding fighter and bounteous lover
Rendering your essence freely
For the love of the gift
Candid without a care

Asking for less than nothing really
A few drops of water enough for sustenance
You have no scent nothing to call your own
Or to flaunt your offering

Subtle faint understated and low-key
Waiting to be discovered
To be loved and treasured
Simply for what you are and...

Not for guiles ruses or ploys
Swaying silently you wait as I
In the moonlit summer breeze

Not marked on any mapped out town
found where the country is green and brown,
not on the gray, concrete corner of Main
can you find your way to Daisy Lane

No need to search for any road signs
just follow to a place where the sun shines,
and somehow always could, even in the rain
over the beautiful spot named, Daisy Lane

And waving from their wooded abode
lined up to greet you along the dirt road,
wildly bunched in their finest white array
all looking like fresh snow in May

They welcome you to sway on the breeze
to hum with birds and bumble with bees,
untie your shoes, let your feet go bare
don't be surprised if you leave them there

For you will find it hard to say goodbye
when the sun decides to leave the sky,
but return anytime you seek refrain
and take a stroll down Daisy Lane.

Premium Member Reflecting on Carefree days

Looking deep into your invitingly,
warm, brown eyes, I suddenly felt
intoxicated, as if I were drunk,
Drunk, dizzy, and unbalanced,
Unbalanced, I stumbled right into an
old tree,
Tree, it wasn’t any old tree; it was
the tall palm tree, our secret meeting
place.

Place, a heart-shaped rose garden,
where endless hours of daydreaming
and making plans,
Plans of things and places we
would visit and explore,
Explore and wander through some
of those great cities around the
world,
World! That wonderful world was our
dream. How nice if I could return to
those old, carefree, lazy days.

Days where we could just lay in the
warm tropical sun, listening to our
favourite love songs, enjoying the
cool sea breeze, oblivious to time,
drifting us right into
sunset,
Sunset worked its magic on our
souls, inciting feelings of romance,
Romance, throughout our romantic
phase, you were thoughtful and
generous, and always did everything
with great love.
Love, our love was blooming
beautifully like a Rose garden in
Springtime,
Springtime sadly doesn’t last forever,

Forever wasn’t meant for you and me,
Me and you, it was our destiny to
meet and then part,
But alone and abandoned, I could
never be, for in my heart,
Those unforgettable memories of
the “us” dwell in a perpetual embrace,
undisturbed in eternal bliss.

he floated in mid air
feet never touching ground
refusing responsibility
for his destiny

a drifter
open to anything
a puppet

never occurring to him
he could
at any moment
grab the reins

When reminiscing, I can clearly see
two laughing teenage girls who cruised carefree.
Life showed her gentle, smiling side as we
shared dreams and secrets to the nth degree
and danced away most days quite happily.

Today, I will
Be carefree
Will go to the park
Nurture with Mother Nature
And hug a tree
The shade of the tree
Will comfort me
I will laugh, sing
And dance
As if nobody
Is watching me
I will meditate
Be childlike
And express
My gratitude
Towards Mother Nature
That is what
I am going to do
To set my soul free

Premium Member Rain Dance

Do you see the rain dance
no drop at a still stance,
pitter pattering all around
bouncing back to the ground

Steady there while you sit
as atop your head they hit,
each one is an invitation
and a newfound inspiration

No more need to stay inside
or under an umbrella hide,
simply set your soles free
leave all your troubles be

You can see the rain dance
live a little, take a chance,
lasts only a minute or two
later on skies will be blue

The skin will feel every drip
fresh enough to take a sip,
falling so freely in the air
let them tangle in your hair

Two together become one
washed over by innocent fun,
to thoroughly enjoy the soak
before the clouds above broke

If rain could it might smile
because for a short while,
here under the circumstance
you decided to join their dance.

At Random

At times,
When my mind looks for a reason,
To stop reasoning and be free,
From the clutches of
Mindful and meticulous decision making
Of everyday life,
It feels great and relaxing,
To be carefree and
To randomly pick and muse
On these two words:
'At Random'.

Date: 10/02/2020
The five words I picked: 'from', 'and', 'reason', 'to', 'great'

Carefree Days of Youth

At times my heart longs for
Those days of carefree youthful
Play when my most pressing thought
Was which game to play next

I would leave my house and
Be gone all day with my cousins
And friends all day we would play

Climb trees go fishing ride our bikes
come home grab a bite go back out
Till dark

Sometimes my heart longs
For those days when I did
Roam through the neighboring
Wooded acres I loved

My thoughts take me back there
From time to time as I sit
Looking out my window with a smile
And though I can no longer
Play carefree I can still frolic
Through those wonderful memories
