Carefree Days of Youth
At times my heart longs for
Those days of carefree youthful
Play when my most pressing thought
Was which game to play next
I would leave my house and
Be gone all day with my cousins
And friends all day we would play
Climb trees go fishing ride our bikes
come home grab a bite go back out
Till dark
Sometimes my heart longs
For those days when I did
Roam through the neighboring
Wooded acres I loved
My thoughts take me back there
From time to time as I sit
Looking out my window with a smile
And though I can no longer
Play carefree I can still frolic
Through those wonderful memories
