Best Be The Death Of Me Poems

Meth You Won'T Be My Death

As I sit here and silently wait, I can only think this isn't love, it must be hate.

I've been lost in your tantalizing charms,
and all I want to do is feel you in my arm.

When I close my eyes, nightmares only terrorize.
I wake in cold sweats, violent shakes, and with a heart that only knows how to break.

Best of friends we used to be, back when I was young, happy, and free.
Now it seems you only enjoy to hunt, taunt, and terrorize me.

I longed for you every moment,
I begged for you on bended knee.
I crave for you all the time.
God, please give me the strength to break free.

I'm sure there was a time before you and me.
Those days have been wiped from my memory.
I've heard people say there's no way to break free, that you'll eventually be the death of me.

I put my foot down here and now.
You will not hold my hand down into the ground.
You will not be the spade they use to dig my hole, or the dirt they cover me with when I'm done and cold.

I will live longer than just 33.
Meth, you will not be the death of me.

Wet Moon

Sagan grins from a Pale Blue Dot
As LCROSS finds water in Cabeus.
Is Su Shih's bright moon finally told --
Echoed by Dickinson's moon of gold?

Did Armstrong sit in contemplation
O'er cheesy man-in-the-moon inspiration
By Yeats, Coleridge, Thomas (Dylan) and Shelley;
Li Po, Longfellow, Whitman and Lindsay?

Under Moore's young moon of May we're planting
Bamboo groves in moonbeams slanting.
Moonrise to moonset, across dead rivers --
Elvis and Emily share moon-rock shivers.

To Sandburg's moon of harvest silver,
Wells used Cavorite (but just a sliver).
Now, listen as the Selonites motion --
Whispering of Earth and its teeming blue ocean.

While I, wild moon-child, begin to spool
By the light of Merritt's Lovecraftian Pool:
"Moon-water shall be the death of me
This year."

Struggling

12/12/19
"Struggling"

I've been struggling
Doing things that are puzzling
It's rather troubling
How much liquor I've been guzzling

Shiiiit
I admit

I'm not proud at all
I got a problem with alcohol
It'll be my downfall

If I don't fix it
Instead of always getting twisted
On my end, there's been a lot of resistance
It's been hard, and I know that I'll miss it
But I want to follow through on my wishes
And get after serious riches
All the while, taking care of business
With god as my witness
Up until the very last minutes
And at the finish
I don't need anybody's forgiveness
Just got to make the best of my existence

Another relapse, because I always got to get my fixes
On the walls upside down triple sixes
Pictures of provocative b**** es
Blowing kisses
And a tank with fishes
As well as a few glow in the dark crucifixes

Life's tough, yet sometimes it isn't
Good riddance
Once again I've done did it
I'm starting to get suspicious
Of much more than the superstitious
I've been ambitious
Yet still oh so vicious

Sorry, can't relate, I'm not very religious
And that's just one difference

Use to be a jock and a nerd
Nowadays I burn so much herb
I've been feeling disturbed
Because there's been so much I learned
Yet the problems always return
When you're at your lowest or feeling superb

On my back the weight of an anvil
Been trying to leave it at the landfill
But keep ending up at a standstill
Damn girl,
You really gave me feelings of ecstasy
Turns out it wasn't always meant to be
You'd best believe
Working my ass off, to barely earn ends meet
Only to struggle on through the next week
Makes me feel like a ****ing dead beat
Life continues testing me
Getting the best of me, but I can't let it be
I'm ready to achieve
An outcome that turns out successfully

Living rather recklessly
Been at odds and making some enemies
Doing things that'll shorten longevity
And life expectancy
Having strange tendencies
And certain dependencies
Which could very well be the death of me

Premium Member Jolted By Twilight

Once again the silvery moon has pilfered the golden sun
Total eclipse is upon me, time has elapsed suspending orange
Twilight’s begun on the orb’s descending softer glow

Veiled in twilight…
Placid and limitless, I’ve glimpsed into the frontier in tranquil rapture
Moon aligns sans sun’s bright face

Jolted by twilight…
I coast along a sea of stars juddered wildly
Waves spanning the sky avec abandon
Embraced by star-strewn externals
I leave behind a familiar harbor
Anchored are my temporal remnants down in the terrestrial realm
My spirit soaring, a mirthful lodger I be,
swimming in twilight’s radiance
Its celestial smile shall be the death of me...

embracing star-strewn
crowned external forevers~
we soar the tides dance

Premium Member I Could Have Lived Without You

I remember our first encounter
I didn't like you much,
But you made me feel so special
I soon longed for your touch.
I'd press my lips against you.
You could take my breath away.
And faster than I could imagine
I knew you were here to stay.

You were with me in the morning
and stayed with me all night,
The two of us were inseparable
you were never far from sight.
I just couldn't live without you
I had to have you day and night,
Your hold on me was much too strong
and I knew it wasn't right.

But I could never give you up
though time and time I tried,
I'd find myself drawn back to you
by a burning deep inside.
I should have stayed away from you
should have listened to my friends,
When they said that you would be ...
the death of me.

But no matter what they told me
their words fell on deaf ears,
I knew I couldn't give you up
not after all these years.
And yes you'll be the death of me
I'll soon take my last breath,
I'm dying with my lungs full of cancer
because of you .........

                   My cigarette.

Premium Member Just Keep Trying

Survival can be summed up in three words ~ Never give up! That's the heart of it really. Just keep trying - Bear Gryllis

I thought it would be the death of me
At least the person who lives within
Where silence awakens dreams of intimacy
And caresses the spirit with hopes and prayers
Awakening hues of colorful, captivating
Emotions that welcome the heart to be
Alive with embers of insight and inspiration
Miracles flowing from a well of imagination
Filling the soul with visions of wisdom and
Strength that motivates the will to keep moving
Forward, into the tomorrows where intense
Capacity for creativity and life’s reasons beckon
Healing, forgiveness, mystery in being alive
With joy and the resolve to survive the worst
Move forward and keep going, through the pain
Into the heart of deep affection whispering
Gentle thoughts of passionate ideas that give
The inner person more encouragement to
Endure the cruelties found in this world
And venture out toward the promise of
A new day, a new way, second chances to
Believe, to dream, to be… to just keep trying!

Momma always told me,
"Children should be seen but not heard."
'Til I streaked through her Garden Party
And muttered not a word.

Momma always told me,
"The best birth control is an aspirin held tight between your knees."
But my boyfriends ALL had headaches!
Glad I put their heads at ease!

Momma always told me,
"They won't buy the cow if they get the milk for free,"
So I never served my best beaus milk,
Just liquor, wine and me!

Poor momma had another saying,
"You'll be the death of me!"
Momma, you were always right!
There was arsenic in that tea.

A Beauty Like Yours

you make me thankful for every wrong turn iv ever made cause everyone of them led me into the arms of you,
your face is an imaged iv been searching for my entire life
and from the first sight of you i was unsure if my eyesight was true,
cause a beauty like yours is only but in dreams or so it seemed,
before I met you I thought the world was made up of coincidence and luck but i now know that is not true,
there must be a god because a beauty like yours has only one explanation,
no variation of simply a man and a women come together with sexual sensations
but god only god could have created you,
you are a flawless creature with features made from only the heavens above so amazing and beautiful that your beauty could be the death of me,
cause when i write these words i write them for you
i write because of you and i wright them to you,
and the ink of my pens are running out and led from my pencils are in the form of words about you,
words so sweet bees are attracted in every direction and even tho i am allergic i keep writing.
so now i know god must be real i pray but i do not pray for want or need or money that grows on trees,
no when im on my knees i pray for please,
please god forgive me for not having faith and god please forgive me for my sins i don't no were to begin but i do ever since i saw you,
i ask for forgiveness and remorse because when my time comes i want to walk through those pearly doors and see you,
and for eternity i want to be with you and for the rest of time find new ways to please you.

The frigid water meets my shriveled womb, oh life will be the death of me.
Numb with longing tip toes seek a watery tomb, oh life will be the death of me.

Upon my waving fingers fronds of seaweed slip and slither snaking down
salted fantasies occur of a younger bloom, oh life will be the death of me.

Tongued lips crack, tangled tresses bob upon the inward rushing tide
gulls screech taunting judgment of my gloom, oh life will be the death of me.

High the tide and stark the moonlight which pales this lonely one undone;
parted lips kiss dark foam, no body to exhume, oh life will be the death of me.

Minecraft Pvp

I respawn,
Just to see another dawn,

I train,
Not knowing if something I will gain,

I fight,
Only to be bested by others' might,

I die,
As I wave my finale bye-byes,

Some days,
I swear,
I'm walking right into the beast's lair,

PvP,
It will soon be the death of me

She Drives Me Up the Wall

SHE DRIVES ME UP THE WALL

She drives me up the wall like a slave-driver
O yes, she does ! but even though she may wield
the rod in her hand ever so threateningly at me
At the slightest suspicion of insubordination,
Leaving me cowering with fear, I love her just the same,
Perhaps much more than I ‘ve ever loved anybody else before!
I may ‘ve become certifiable as a result, who knows,
But whatever the case may be,
pray don’t judge me harshly until you ‘ve heard me out.

I love her for the same farcical reason that Socrates
Ostensibly loved that cantankerous woman Xantippe.
By temperament and upbringing, I find a woman who
Stands up to a man much more appealing than one
Who’s obsequious and complaisant!
What happened to me, therefore, was no accident but a
quantum leap; I had no control what so ever over the turn of events
That got us this far in our fledgling relationship.
Ever since I met her, my life, which had hitherto been
Fairly peaceful and uneventful, has, all of a sudden,
Taken a dramatic turn.

And like a minx, she has so turned my head around
I can’t tell for certain whether I am coming or I am going!
Suffice to say I’ve been acting up silly and rather foolishly
For a grown up person (I don’t know whether or not I still
Have any semblance of an ego left, what with this
Attractive je ne sais quoi I find so irresistible about her!)
Oh no, don’t tell me I’ve been doing this all for the
Wrong reasons ! or that I am laying it on thick.
It’s only me who knows exactly what I am feeling.
Besides, I am not talking morals here, I am talking
About what it feels like to love somebody to a fault.
If she did walk out on me now I can guarantee you
That would certainly be the death of me!
I am sure that’s not what you would all like
To see happen to me just yet unless of course
You’ve been spoiling for my death while pretending to be my friends.
When all else is said and done, I’d rather be
Henpecked than let go of this maverick specimen of womankind
Who has lodged herself in my life uninvited,
Making it her home, and has since then never failed
To drive me up the wall like a slave-driver with her rod.
Not only is she good sport, but like a morning
Star she’s such fun to be with, I promise you!

Sweet town, you'll be the death of me,
I leave again without my heart
Entrusting it into your care.
All the sounds and all the places
Seasoned with familiar faces
Are only ghosts for the main part.

From sunset glow to swirling mist
When all life's sounds grow faint and cease,
Haunting voices through the years
Renew the thoughts within my soul
Of long-lost friends swallowed whole
By time. May each one rest in peace.

Come Take a Trip With Me

Come take a trip with me it more of a journey
Ride life's hi-way with me the thrills and chills of all the pills
Climb inside my mind after brain surgery when I could hear but not speak;
It was what I would have imagine doing acid or LSD would be
not being able to speak or walk falling when you tried by yourself but as I got better
I could stand on my own after a week I could walk but talk it took longer and I was
a BIG TALKER & WRITER but not so much anymore so when I do it is not for the prize
I do it for me to prove to myself I still can

Come take a trip with me down my life's hi-way
My road has not been long but fill with lots of big pot holes
First before I was a double digit midget I fell and cut my writing arm
thus forcing me to learn how to write again first pot hole
I was putting up groceries with my brothers and I was hit with a 5lb can of coffee
in the face cutting my nose 5 stitches second pot hole
Riding my horse in a race and was bit by the other horse and again stitches third pot hole
kidnapped in my teens but got away four pot hole
I thought when I got married I broke the curse wrong I flipped a pickup when I was
pregnant 3 times me and the baby took our first steps together fifth pot hole
Then he want somebody to play with it took 5 years to get a sister six pot hole
His senior year I battled brain cancer I had brain surgery and the took out as much of the tumor as they could now my husband and children are stuck raising me
I now have cancer low sugar seizures and high blood pressure but it wont be any of theses that get me oh no my kids will be the DEATH of me
For with love come the greatest pot hole in life at the bottom is the most emotional
ride joy anger hate compassion kindness consideration discipline and wrapped up and sewn together with love so I know
Even the smallest ants cast a long shadows
I have been gone from the soup for months ands Linda came to look me up and invited me to her blog it was because I had a grand mall and it sucked!

A Soldier's Heart

Oh sail this ship on holy water
Let storms be gone today
For the voice of life seeks a tender heart
Away from these fields of despair
A soldier needs God to recognise me

This letter of life, this beacon of hope
Pray land on mother’s doorstep
And give my family the hug
That I cannot bring
For this brings peace to me

The hands of the children
Reach out to fathers gone
I pray that they will remember me
For time has made a stranger
In my babies memory
I fear on my return
They will not know me

And wife you will not see
The handsome man of marriage
For war has made me old
This withered face will tell no stories
So pray do not ask me

My youth has been lost
In generals words and one more push
And my mind has accepted this slaughter
The man that closed the door of home
Cannot return
Life will never be the same for me

My words belong to the soldier
Not to my lovers tears
For we compete with the dead
 Epitaphs are our confetti
Littering every street
These once happy bodies
 Lay in no man’s land
And they’re pain
Are companions to me?

Their faces call out
“Come join the ranks”
And we who know our fate
Scribble with trembling hand
Will this bombardment never cease?
For fear is all over me

 Concealed behind my pencilled words
Except from all who share death with me
Lies a truth lost in the darkest night
The darkness that possesses this life
For war is a father to me.

I am the guardian
Of this decomposing life
Only my corpse can give you the truth
So this letter will stay with me

I will send to you, my beloved wife
Thoughts that will protect your life
I cannot write fancy words
I am fine and I miss you
Hope you and the kids are well
It’s not so bad here
And with gods will
This war will return the man
That is me.

 Love Jack.
P S your love will always be with me
Should I die please remember me.
Let me sleep in English soil
For England is my home
Though England will be the death of me
