A Backwards Poem-Needing Each Other

me
needing
you through
good and bad
times shared of
joy and love with
forgiveness linked
into redemption
saved through troubled times
with truth is grace
loving daily
portrayed and
pure is love
through me
needing
you

Forgive me, the "Backwards Poem" form is not an option on Poetry Soup so I listed it as a "verse". It is a form of poetry which can be read correctly downwards and upwards also.

I used a strict syllable count of: 1-2-2-3-3-4-4-5-5-4-4-3-3-2-2-1

Backwards

The teacher said, "Listen to this,"
"Said backward, your name has a twist!"
One kid caught her eye
She said, "Simon you try!"
In a moment he said, "No mis!"

The World Upside Down and Backwards

One of the funniest things in an amusement park are the mirrors
and the way your true image comes across
but unfortunately without the Blood of Jesus applied to your life
this is the way you and me look to God for without Him we are lost.

We in the natural with a humanistic twist
have tried to work out a clean and bloodless redemption plan
but the Lords way was perfect in the price of His Son
so how do we them match that do tell me if you can!

This old world’s views since the fall
are backwards and upside down if you please
its ways, take all of you can get while the Bible says
to get you must give and it says so not for us just to tease.

A life without Jesus is upside down and definitely
out of control
going nowhere in the fast lane as there is no way to escape
and one day all of us will have chosen where we will go.

As I mentioned before so say I again
we are backwards without Jesus as to how we are to view this life
for when He arrives on our dreadful lowly scene
if you will allow Him to, He will rid your life of peace stealing strife.

As a babe new born in our world
one of the first words a new baby will learn to speak is No!
they answer no to even good and wonderful things
that would have brought to their little face an awesome glow.

The central theme and message to this poem
was meant for this one fact
a life without Jesus, the Author of life is upside down and backwards yet
its needless to stay that way when He is wanting and welcoming to call you back!

Feet

weary

walking

in reverse

retracing

finding wisdom

by treading through

dried muddy footprints

blood stained memories

lessons relearned

forlorn tears cleanse

painful yet

needed now

We'Re Evolving Backwards

we sit more than we walk
we think less than we talk

abandoning our evolution
legs are something we're not using

office blocks use finger tips
we sit, we type use phones and lips

eyes are used as we blindly consume
unnatural light in every room

hunting's not something we do
creating is for just a few

bacteria that we can't see
has changed our whole reality

us human beings top the tree
the middle and the bottom we also be

with germs always our company
closing down each country

we've never been to the floor of the seas
and we don't know how to cure disease

when we're young we are dependent
growing old lose independence

with belief a narcissist holds
we choose to think we are evolved

Example for Backwards Poem Contest

you
breathing
inside
me eludes
greatness with
pure temptation
and love within
obstacles in faith
with hope of future
dependent for
living greatly
and freedom
to love with
prayers
gently
said

My hope was for this to flow as close to a free verse poem as possible when read down then back up again.

This is what it reads going down (words left to right)

"you breathing inside me eludes greatness with pure temptation and love within obstacles in faith with hope of future dependent for living greatly and freedom to love with prayers gently said."

This is how it reads starting at the end and going back up (words right to left)

"said gently prayers with love to freedom and gently living for dependent future of hope with faith in obstacles within love and temptation pure with greatness eludes me inside breathing you."

Premium Member God Spelled Backwards

It’s no coincidence that the word God
spelled backwards is a word that we all know
for something by which we are often awed -
a creature, which unfailingly, can show
amazing grace toward any one of us!
Our canine friend does not care how we dress
or if we’re rich or poor. He makes no fuss
when we do not endeavor to impress
the way we do among our human kind!
Love without judgment from this animal
is like that of our Christ, whose love is blind
to flaws and won’t desert us when we fall.
This facet of God’s love is what I see
when my sweet dog’s brown eyes watch over me.

Finally entering this poem i wrote for Deb's contest.
I don't recall the theme being exactly the way it is now described at
the contest page, but I will enter this one anyway, for what it's worth!

Backwards

Your words took the breath out of me
Made me realize
Gave me anxiety
Brought me back to reality
That I need to make changes
I feel like a stranger in strange places

I realize my misjudgement
How I treated you with words unfairly
Now I see things more clearly

I'm a poet
Some say a rapper with a pen
All I know
Is I won't make that mistake again

Sometimes I feel backwards
Like Kris Kross in the early nineties
So many things remind me
If who I was at one time
Chaotic mess
Chaotic mind
Now I'm searching for peace of mind
But every moment I find
I'm one step closer to greatness

Without this pen I feel naked
Stripped of everything I am
Maybe others can understand
What it's like to be different

I'm different and that's okay
Cause everyday
I'm changing constantly
When I look in the mirror I see
A driven mind

Backwards In Real Talk

One-Two
Life from a differerent view
Open ur eyes- to these lies,
From the world,
Thats underground curled,
Askin questions,
Wantin mentions,
To plant the bead,
Not to evils deed,
For a need,
As a small city girls lead,
Part I now believe,
With all my heart ,
In my dream,
We come together,
Banner/ stream
Cuz im growin,
Getin to knowin
All the worldly problems
Walkin round like sims,
Strings attached,
Moneys got all latched,
Relationships matched,
With all the wrong meanings,
Now we're all leanin,
In the wrong way,
Becoming astray,
From the real life,
No more stabbing the back with a knife,
Real talk,
Walk the walk,
That you say,
Don’t be hidden, be the suns ray,
Now build and don’t break it down,
Be the cities ground, building from bottom to top,
Cropping out the ones with the wisdom,
To seek the unknown,
No more meek times,
Were at a grimy time,
I try my best,
To make the words sink in at rest,
And the beat of the drum,
Get the people thinkin,
Lookin all around,
Out the window-to the sound,
As the rain falls,
Through the thick walls,
So plain, cars movin like a show,
In a right lane, blank, hurricane,
In a rush as a controlled pushed by a mane,
But one wrong move,
Its not longer a game,
For all the wrong ties,
Nows lookin through the lies,
Given new day,
Every morning,
And Ill b me,
As you be you, stop the judging, don’t u see?
Im not better repeat this now,
Choose the letter,
Cuz lifes here so leave,
The problems behind,
One moment to grieve,
Then back on the bind.
WAKE UP AND GRIND.

Premium Member My Friend - I Miss You Backwards Contest

I miss you so...
Wordless... I miss you
without you I'm uninspired
a mute, my voice is truly yours
Speechless, numb, and empty

whats sometimes hard to show
that which I cannot say
I hope you feel it, I pray you know
this bares no question
My friend without strings... I do miss you so

so confused about what to do
I'm unable to handle what's true
sometimes our reality is conflicted
I sit back and marvel in thoughts of you

Walking Backwards

I look backwards I look forward
I look all around
I look left and right
chaos is all to be found

someone at this second is murdered
someone at this second is raped
just watching the news
makes me want to pray

you cant park your car on the street anymore
you can't go out at night
you can't walk down the road anymore
alone in broad daylight

this world should be moving forwards
and not backwards anymore
people need to be more nice
and bring more love and less war

how hard is it to pay excuse me
rubbing shoulders'walking by?
being nice is so easy to do
people need to give it a try

the government saying
what we can or can not do
America used to be free
but that is no longer true

a child rapist is charged again
then he was set free
while ppl sit in jail for unpaid fines
that sounds backwards to me

punishing everyone with guns
because of one person's psychotic act
...it's not the gun it's the person
everyone with common sense knows that

registered sex offenders as our neighbors- man what a relief
the law says they've paid their dues
but that's just what they want to believe

people being shot all around
because the color of their face
I believe everyone should be loved
no matter what the race

people all over struggling
not enough money for bills to be paid
I think this country is going under
too many changes to be made

oil spills, chemical factories
and the ocean is filled with trash
at this rate 50 years from now
this world will be ash

it takes so much energy to hate
I wish everyone could see
life would go more smoothly
if you do unselfish deeds

when you see someone struggling
offer a hand to help
if the tables were turned
wouldn't you want that for yourself?

there are many things you can't change
but try hard at the things you can
you have a special place in this world
you are part of a bigger plan

part of the plan to take our lives back
part of the plan to do what's right
part of the plan to walk safely
down the street in the day or night

I was taught to hold on to love
and I should never hate
together everyone could turn this around
it is never too late

it's time to take one step forward
and no longer take any back
this country, this world, our children's' future is at stake
and that is a fact

Dog Backwards Equals God

Since I belong to God, I am treated by the world like I'm the backwards spelling of
His name. In other words, I'm treated like a dog. His grand treatment will enable to
stand in the face of persecutions for the good life Jesus is the only solution. The
world will treat you like a dog but God holds all of their collars. They can't do you
any harm all you have to do to God's name is holla'! 1-11-11

Backwards

Flaws. And the flush of speckled skin.
My throat closes off and I break.
Dead men keep breathing.
Mourners heal quickly.
Eyes open, reset, and we begin.
