Best Arrogant Poems
True arrogant bait
Someone I'd never date
He lured me to his game
My sanity…his claim
Passion hijacking my thoughts
Drafting erratic plots
No one I could tell
A selfish little spell
Risks so uncalculated
Common sense castrated
He plead for it not to end
I could no longer pretend
Cashing in lust for security
Stacking chips of maturity
Then I heard the news
True darkness he did choose
Cruel relief it did provide
For my secret also died

"No, I won't read you, no matter what!"
"Even if you get a POTD, I will keep my heart and pen shut."
Such a terribly, nasty state of affairs.
When they associate only with top poet lairs!
I had enough POTDs to already know who would prefer death! (by name).
Than giving me a soul squeeze, golly, they may run out of breath?
I take it all in,with a big grain of salt.
Better that, than getting totally drunk on malt.
To those who are here, to a relative newbie.
I prefer love to disingenuous snooties!

@And hugs to all, who do read me. M.L Kiser had it
right.
"Are you here to collect comments, or are you here write poetry?"
The answer is clear, my dear.
Thumbs up, M.L... Thank you for saving my poetic life!M!

Orange steps into view
Demanding her due,
Green plots
Blue demurs
Pink laughs
Grandma rolls her eyes
She has met other oranges
Purple sits tight, not relinquishing the throne.
Grandma mouths ‘sit put’ to Purple
Orange throws the biggest nastiest fit ever seen in the forest.
She wants Purple to give her the respect she thinks she has earned.
She uses mean words, and gives us her worst example of terrible.
Blue masquerades as a bunny; a quick flash and she is gone.
Pink and Green look to Grandma who turns and walks off.
Both Purple and the throne have disappeared, tucked away safely elsewhere.
Orange throws herself down on the grass, yelling and kicking.
Screaming until she is hoarse, until she loses her words.
Spoiled, the elves think. Irreverent, the faeries agree.
She should have been respectful to Grandma, whispers Green.
Pink laughs
There was a tall brute who played hockey
Whose actions were deemed as quite cocky
His opponents saw red
So they stomped on his head
Now the twerp earns his keep as a jockey!
O death that flaunts finality
No one dare erase God's name data base
It's true your voice is known in space
But from age to age, the Source hands you cue
And old souls in young bodies does grace old school
You've been cheated, whipped, passed by
No lie.
You who crawl, sneak up, zap
You're jealous and that's that
Mortals will recall all worth recalling
Year in year out, memories rule
As in class of old school
People, places, and things will ring bells
Before and after your appearing
Their flag pole will never stay void of flag
Traces of love is not yours to chase.
You won't always have your way
Life was reformed long before your horn
Who told you, you own the throne?
No one has crowned you The Source
A tree dies, and is reborn before your eyes
A human life, any form assigned, returns
And so you're stripped of the final word.
You have sealed shut countless voices
And cause silence to have its say
But ancient voices you knew, are yet displayed
What's of the dark does come to light
The invisible world is not your domain
The Source has ordained you're just a part of it...
IT, being Creator of all
Even in Eden, provision was made for those who fall.

The most handsome of boyfriends I had
broke my heart; what an arrogant cad!
But I don't think I missed
out on much. How he kissed
makes me think - sex with him must be bad!

Arrogant Creatures All Lost In Vanity
Many have tried but all have failed
yet even these losers are often hailed
Mortal man trying a utopia to make
only succeeds in getting lives to take
All the deaths caused by these men
tens of millions murdered in the end
Hitler, Stalin and Mao all did fail
surely those evil three rot in Hell
Creatures all lost in arrogant vanity
destroying worlds with their insanity
There can be no true paradise here
man operates on greed, lust and fear
Man's imperfections invades all he builds
rots bountiful harvests in fertile fields

when certain voices speak
something inside me pricks up unseen ears
inviting the best of schizophrenia: mind, ego, body, the Deep
we are a lot of trouble - our degrees, you, and me
and the scientific way with the unknowable
knowing nothing of that which dwells within WE
yet when powerful suns glow and speak
the uneducated part of me listens like a child again
to voices back from India, familiarly sweet
lulling this plastic shell with data and pixel to sleep
so my own light - Deep, Deepak - is like Father Fire again
while through windows stained, sons peek
LISTEN! Listen intently ... imperceptibly gentle voices
Singing of a once glorious Ganges, mighty Mississippi, magnificent Missouri
How to sing when overcome by men and women's vices
when Grandfather Spirit is hung from a totem pole for psuedo-science
but the Data was always here, is here, will always be
light and sound allow my atom to cross the silence

Long long ago there lived a king
Who hath truly loved all poetry
Who never was tired of listening
To all forms of beautiful poetry
Well read senior poet of the court
Also never stopped minting
And reading amidst claps in the court
Verses full of prise for the king
Not so named and all those young
Hardly got some chance to sing
Their some good works before the king
As the senior was disallowing
Even the king got truly bored
But was unsure how to express
Aging great can not be fired
Time he hoped would clear the mess
One day one young poet got a chance
In the coveted senior's absence
To read some poems on Siva's dance
And the king's joy was immense
Every letter of his work earned a lakh
Said the king there is no going back
Talented fresh please come forward
Read good poems and you earn reward
Lo, those words opened flood gate
But only a few could clinch reward
Protecting now the wealth of the state
Poet senior stood as a good guard

Arrogance is such a miserable egotistical trait,
Cultivated and nurtured to become their fate,
To me these people seem like over ripe tomatoes
packed in an old crate,
Which should be offered to passersby to throw
At them and smudge their face,
But either this or karma will envelop them in future days.
A compliment for or to them runs like water off
A ducks back,
Give me down to earth, real people, and let arrogance
Go Quack, quack quack.
by Wayne Wysocki
There once was an arrogant frog
Who thought he was king of the bog
But he wasn't so regal
When the bark of a beagle
Scared him right off of his log.
When are we going to learn
We need to shut our trap
What is it with you
Your snide tone
Your petty remarks
Everything we say is ignored
Censured or corrected
Cause everything we say is wrong
And you think you're entitled
What the hell
We wish we could spit it out
And tell you off
Just cut you off
As if we need you
Yet...
We continue to put up with you
