Out in the cold
Excluded by a former friend
Out in the cold
Betrayed for silver coins when sold
A deed I could not apprehend
And now perplexed alone I stand
Out in the cold

The Middle Time is now upon me,
The tune to which I dance grows somewhat thin;
A ghost remembrance of that cacophonous din
To which my steps were measured in my youth.
I know there lies now less before
Than all those days that lay within
The sepulcher of careless memory passed,
I apprehend the sometime bitter truth
That evil days approach my door
When much of what I've come to love will bid its leave
As I be forced to gaze aghast
At sights my eyes would fain not see,
When I to faithful hope must cleave.

Yet, what better time than this, the high point of the feast?
That Jester, Youth, has left the table
Leaving us the better able
To speak of things which more befit the greyed brow,
Matters weighty and sublime
Which better suit our natures now, though perhaps in tone more sable
Than such issues as delight the Fool,
Content the simpleminded sow -
Let us worthily pass the time
To Banquet's End, in company merry and refined,
Reviewing all we gained in Life's long school -
Establish what we value most and least,
Then say we fed our souls while yet we dined.

O grieve not that thy step be not so quick nor light
As t'was it's wont to be in bygone days,
Nor pine for carefree, childish ways -
They had their time, and sweet they were,
But now thou hast a surer, measured step
Nobler thoughts - the ones which stay,
Youth for all its joyful folly
Is not a state forever to prefer
To mind and manner better kept
From fancies and seductions strange;
Who but a Fool would be forever jolly
To deny his Midlife's further sight,
It's deeper view, it's wider range?

Motherland, My Love Is Fine And Grand

A pity I couldn't comprehend
What is happening to my homeland?!
Utter disarray harming my stand
Lives in the clutches of evil hands
The paths we are to walk have no ends
Face demons or bury heart in sand
Bend to the will, the risk in the wind!
To whom would I spill my reprimand?
Motherland, my love is fine and grand
My words of ivory wrap your land
On your sole soil, souls grow and expand
A pity I couldn't comprehend
What is happening to my homeland?!
In cage, dreaming of a promised land
On my life, you have the upper hand
My words if you feel and understand
My pain if you heal and put an end
Rise to a dare and hold a whip hand
The beast took hold of my fairyland
Reins of reign seized by anarchy bands
The world of lies, my ink couldn’t stand
The rain of words beyond my pen's hand
Homeland, if only you apprehend
To your turmoil I can't be offhand
Forgive my passion to a twin land
World of Ivory, my wonderland!

Premium Member A Furious Brain Storm

So easily my brain ceases to be
Lacked in comfort how hectic it could be
Brain cells wrapped around membranes like tree stems

Within the frameworks of the Universe
Brain cells have more mass than stars that compass
So easily my brain ceases to be

Dendrites form the shadows of tree branches
Visually compelling to the eye-minded
Brain cells wrapped around membranes like tree stems

Does this brainstorm begin and have an end?
Twirling and swirling can’t we comprehend?
So easily my brain ceases to be

Medicines that we can’t apprehend
Enabling the brainstorm that never ends
Brain cells wrapped around membranes like tree stems

Mystery enshrouds our Brain’s functions
Those pills blunt and fill those with apathy
So easily my brain ceases to be
Brain cells wrapped around membranes like tree stems

A Brand New Year

My Heavenly Father it's a brand new year and I'm still here by your Heavenly Grace and that's perfectly clear. But there's fear, I'm stuck in first gear so in 2017 with so much unseen, on you I'll have to lean in order to stay clean. So I'm asking for your blessings, for strength to preserve and a change of atmosphere.

Yes Lord I want to spread my wings, grab the golden rings, there's songs to sing, here comes spring. Thus I want to stay on board, keep traveling upward, if to you I keep coming toward there's a great and beautiful reward.

But I'm all mixed up and it's a bitter cup for this stage in my life is new, which keeps me wondering what to say, what to do? I want my mind to stop churning, to become discerning, to obtain understanding while learning. So in Lord Jesus name I do pray, but HEY, I'm already headed the right way.

Although I'm in a world that's totally material where what you have makes you imperial while boarding on insanity because it's all vanity, like trying to apprehend the wind. Without you Lord the world's success is hollow many loose their way trying to follow and finding it's a very bitter pill to swollow.

Still, we kill ourselves for Earthly treasures, trying to aquire them by any means, any measure cause the flesh is all about pleasure. After living the way of the world and constantly stumbling, hard lessons I've learned which have been humbling and I thank you Lord for under the circumstances you gave me a second chance.

I'm tired of going wrong, it's time to live right so in Lord Jesus name I pray for insight, to make my life complete, standing on solid concrete and to be discrete. For you are my Heavenly Father and the best of friends who is with me until the very end.

So I thank you again for being so kind, coming right on time and giving me my rapid fire rhymes, for making things clear and giving me another Blessed Year. In Lord Jesus name which I do acclaim, you deserve all the fame and may you forever rein... AMEN

Premium Member An Endless Dream Dance - Collab With Jo

You dance love, and you dance joy and you dance dreams."- Gene Kelly
I am lost in an endless dream
My love and I are together
Dancing hand in hand, we're a team
Like the zephyr and a feather
Swirling and swaying to the beat
We are caught up in love's sweet trance
To the music, tapping our feet
Adrift in our fantasy dance.

Embraced in splendour of the night
We vowed that we’d twirl evermore
Waltzing the dream till morning light
Upon earth’s grandiose dance floor
Moments too precious to forget
Memories stored safely in heart
To replay in our mind cassette
Forever my cherished sweetheart.

I do not want this dream to end
To wake up and find I’m alone
But dawn breaks in to apprehend
Into the real world, I’m thrown
I await night’s darkness to sleep
To dream of my love and our dance
I am lost in fantasy deep
Hope this will last longer perchance.

Bleak since you left my heart and dreams
In your arms it felt so real
Tears cascade down my face in streams
The heartache I cannot conceal
Come back to me prince entrancing
We’ll waltz to happiness again
Dreams are for love and romancing
To a melodious refrain.

Alone

Wisdom murmurs amid paucity of things—
seekers contemplative in cross-legged trance.
Pondering vaguities pensive meditation brings—
to apprehend with nonchalance of glance.

While to acolytes, such subtleties impinge—
denied are those of stifled grasp.
For in their minds a fetid dinge,
mundane failure to enclasp.

Stunted ones thus held in thrall,
ever signal their incurious pose.
While unmuted is a mounting wrawl,
from those abhorrent in appose.

The blind above in fog would lead,
who daily task us for our gaze.
They tire us with unending screed,
and we ignore while they abrase.

Rather would I summon stillness—
watch quiet water smooth a stone.
Free myself of this world’s illness—
love gently life I choose alone.

Premium Member Summer Breeze

(To the melody of Simon and Garfunkel's "Sounds of Silence"):

Summer breeze, I apprehend
You've come to stir my heart again

The way you toss her hair
The way her green eyes flare

The way you send -- the waves to the sandy shore
   Our hearts adore

Summer breeze: You move me

And when the day is done
   You frame the setting sun

You set the stars in place
   You waft through outer space

The way you send -- the waves to the sandy shore
   Our hearts adore

Summer breeze: You move me

And at the end of time
   When poems no more rhyme

You'll soar your tenor high
   And ask your Maker why

Why He took the Sun -- Moon and Stars from the heavens' sky
   Why'd they die

And still the summer breeze, which moved me

Bobby

Is it possible that I may strive to think
Of what has never been
Or that such would raise me from where I sink
And wipe my sorrow clean
Day and time pass but memory remains
The archive of our knowledge and our pains
Against this bruised part of me your face press
Little nephew, and my love finds no rest

Your mother says, as if the dead still grow
Out of the dust of time,
You would be thirty five, could you but know
This side of life sublime
But I shall never see you stand again
Beside the gate, calling my son to ride
With you, or play like swallows in the rain
His brother came though to be by your side

But none can tell what compose that world yet
Nor how my flesh keeps faith
With me, if may leave its house at my death
Leave close its broken gate
And free from time and space reclaim being
In some place where spirit returns longing
For earth within the bars of time, for old
Memories that round eternity roll

Yet without the pulse of time's cycling pall
The ebb and flow that age
The lost past living only through recall
The shadow on the stage
In which we believe, but ne'er apprehend
The fading light and the shift of scene again
The laws we write as candles in the night
A wind broken dream intimating sight

Bobby, Bobby, I have no final why
Or reason for my tears
The deeper things that make the oceans sigh
Through veils of misty years
As if some deeper wisdom unengaged
Ponders something in our frail sorrow caged
And yet can find no wing except this grief
To weep our life and renders some relief.

I miss you, little nephew, and remain still
A fan, though no more you
Play the ball and let men shout at their will
Or sing melodies blue
About the earth, and man's injustice to man
Nor can I listen the telling of each plan
You had, and against this void now I scream
This senseless violation of our dream!

Premium Member Paralytic

What is the greater miracle:
to rise and walk,
or be forgiven of our sin?
To think the first
is to be paralyzed
by pride embedded deep within.
For are we not
on balance good,
deserving of an honored place?
With crippled minds,
and eyes too blind,
we fail to apprehend our desperate need for grace.
But lesser points to greater,
the broken is restored,
and when we grasp this sweet shalom,
we, like the paralytic, rise,
pick up our bed,
and head in joy towards home.

Premium Member Today Is the First Day of Happiness

Apprehend a blessed moment
of wonderful haughty agreeableness

Embroider it into a legacy hour
Exhilarated and motivated yet?

Not a gargantuous task
bohunks and lunkheads can do it

Jocular? Not me.
Grandiloquent perhaps.

Lavish yourself with volumes of joy
Be flexible, accept inspiration

Today is the first day of happiness
encouraging many succeeding such days

Glean hope and faith so you can
share it and embellish it

Deranged? Not any more than I was
yesterday or the day before

Black is like poetry… it is made up of much more than words – quote by poet

Black is the backdrop
For shimmering starlight
Fireflies winking in the night
Moon glow sparkling high in the sky
Drifting on invisible cords
Held up by angel’s strong arms
Awaiting the moment they should fall

Black is the handsome border
For beautiful feathers on birds
For vibrant wings of butterflies
For the color in our poetic verse

Black is the color worn in grief
Reminding that death
Comes like a dreaded thief
To take away from our lives
The joy, hope and delight
Leaving only the pain and sorrow
To face the misery of the morrow

Black lives inside the shadow
Shading thoughts from the light
Which warms and brightens
Soothes the gloomy darkness
With a penetrating easy comfort
Sent down from the heavens
To fill our spirits with serenity

Black lingers on the soul
Of those who give in to loathing
Commit crimes against love
With fears and tears and years
Of shady sins that apprehend
The hearts joy and grace

Black is the color of loss
The hue meant to disgust
But even with its bad name
It can fascinate and compel us
To write poetry of its fame

Black, I say, never fade to gray
But always stay away when I pray

Premium Member Fond Farewell, a Tribute To Our Fallen Heroes

When our flag is torn and burned I yearn
For an America I once knew.
When our patriots fall I hear the call
Of cold blood red, white and blue.

And hearing the talk from those that mock
The beauty of our beliefs,
I’m reminded that freedom’s price
Isn’t always pure, sweet peace.

As the eagle dares in places where
Some will never see;
Higher ground where love is found
America aims to be.

God bless all those who gave their all
That others might remain,
In liberty’s light through day and night
They did not go down in vain.

Sail on, sail on,
Sail onward homeward bound…
Making this world a better place,
True freedom you have found.

Though human thoughts and words cannot
Apprehend all your good treasures,
Laying down your life for friends
Goes beyond all human measure.

Sail on, sail on,
Sail onward homeward bound…
God bless you all who gave your all
That we living might sleep sound.

All you noble warriors
And lovers of democratic dreams:
Salutations, admiration,
Laurels of inestimable esteem.

From now on through eternity
To thrones of noble realms;
We give thanks for all your selflessness
And bid you fond farewell.

Premium Member Lexical Dexterity

Superfluous dialect doth vomit in regurgitated deglutition,
Whence the pleonasm prohibits a prose's poesy inhibition.

If thee refer to the thesauri, and lexically thy dexterity shall enhance,
Mayhap then thy ken shall apprehend these subsequent words, perchance.

The four-dimensional tesseract of chaotic cognition coalesced in arcane diction,
Shall encase in cubic arithmancy the separation betwixt what's fact and fiction.

The parallax therefore between perplexing symbols and their meaning,
Shall diminish and then demolish that which thy self-esteem's demeaning.

Macrosmatic whiffs of psychosomatic-originating havoc of confidence,
Shall be replaced by an invictus vision of pseudorandom common sense.

I digress, for this stygian gallimaufry of words within wicked propriety,
Requires a piddlydink of esoteric taste for english beyond our society.
