Summer Breeze

(To the melody of Simon and Garfunkel's "Sounds of Silence"):

Summer breeze, I apprehend
You've come to stir my heart again

The way you toss her hair
The way her green eyes flare

The way you send -- the waves to the sandy shore
   Our hearts adore

Summer breeze: You move me

And when the day is done
   You frame the setting sun

You set the stars in place
   You waft through outer space

The way you send -- the waves to the sandy shore
   Our hearts adore

Summer breeze: You move me

And at the end of time
   When poems no more rhyme

You'll soar your tenor high
   And ask your Maker why

Why He took the Sun -- Moon and Stars from the heavens' sky
   Why'd they die

And still the summer breeze, which moved me

Thank you, thank you, my friend! I was a bit stunned that this one secured the #4 rank. But your labeling it a gem shows me that it may well read or sing better than I thought. Best wishes, gw

Gershon, what you expressed was the exact feeling I had walking home from the metro last evening. Every once in a while a summer breeze hits you and for those moments all in the world is fine. Peaceful write! Nice!

Such a great idea to set it to "The Sound of Silence" one of my favorites, especially like 'when the day is done you frame the setting sun' much luck in the contest!

Thank you, as always, Michelle. I hope it was a good idea; I'm actually not sure that it is, as the 'lyric' from clearly does not have to be set to a song ... At any rate, I appreciate your enthusiasm for doing so. It matches mine! Best wishes, Gershon
