July 7th Benevolence
Spies Flawed Sight in Tammuz,
Yiddens’ Tragic Hearing in Av,
Shemiras Einayim, impropriety removes,
3 Middos did Avraham have,
Good Eye, Humble Spirit & Generous Neshama,
Their counter moves:
Ayin Rah from a blind Lev,
Arrogant Spirit, Ala denial of Truth,
Greedy Neshama follow ingratitude does!
Yet thinking your answers give birth,
To the Emes, yields “Gaivahdik” shallows,
Better to grope! … say, “I don’t know!”,
20/20 can be an illusion,
Attending focus is by Anavah,
5 Tammuz 5771 was my stroke intrusion,
Closing my outer eyes is how,
My inner eye yields “Ruchnius” Fusion!
Echad = 13, Unison,
It’s the 13th Anniversary!
Heart speaks no race
Benevolence knows no bounds
Delight every face.

On troubled roads of life, when opposing sides collide,
Conflict of emotions clamors, agitating ego and pride,
While empathy warns: let forgiveness be your guide,
As benevolent angels, in missives of compassion chide.
Mired in wins and losses, when humanity strums offbeat,
Adversaries propagate hatred, and blatantly mistreat,
As meaningless conversations puff up, donning conceit,
While expressions of solemn amiability retreat in defeat.
A proffer of calm and goodwill, checks enemy’s reign
When sanctity prevails, calming a perturbed domain,
As atonement and humility heal, soothing angst of pain
And disturbed vibes seeking revenge, begin to wane.
As nobility of repentance tenders offers of mercy, grace,
Malevolent behaviors recede, ashamed in disgrace,
And enlightenment of intellect inspires vacuous space,
When hosting redemption, reformed enemies embrace.
In affluence of cognitive thoughts informed minds elate
Harboring tolerance and sympathy, discarding hate,
Being harmonious with peace, mundane life they liberate,
Achieving balance within, unfazed by travails of fate.

Working in fields and farms,
In offices and workspaces,
In light and dark,
In summer and winter,
In sickness and health,
In pain and suffering,
Under pressure and relief,
Under freedom and oppression,
With the aim of feeding the family,
With the aim of educating the generations to come,
With the aim of helping the needy,
With the aim of peace and prosperity,
For the aim of creating a better future,
Irrespective of caste and race,
Irrespective of the ignorance and negligence faced,
If we have the same goal,
Why fight in the name of god?,
In the name of culture,
In the name of belief,
In the name of patriotism,
In the name of the future,
If we have the same goal,
Then why the need to fight at all?,
Aren’t two better than one,
Aren’t four better than two,
Isn’t peace better than war,
Isn’t humanity better than barbarism,
Isn’t love better than hatred,
There is yet much to care about,
There is yet much to ponder about,
There is yet much to understand about,
There is yet much to discover about,
There is yet much to reveal about,
There is yet much to love about,
If you don’t believe if my friend, then the satan tricked you once again.
Whether I choose the status quo,
Whether I determine to let go,
Offer me compassion,
I accept with open arms,
Calm my silent desperation,
Comfort my tethered heart,
Steady my trembling hand -
It’s not an action I take lightly,
But with a heaviness of soul,
Not an encumbrance thrust upon me,
But a choice I beg to make,
I plead benevolence enfold me,
So that I don’t die alone.
A stranger came knocking at my front door
Early in the morning, quarter to five,
Asked if I believed in helping the poor
Told him at five I was barely alive,
But if he was needing help to survive
I could offer him tasty toast and jam,
Perhaps, I might even fry up some ham.
To my chagrin, he said he needed cash
I said, "At five out of hard cash I am,"
Then, he turned and hurried off in a dash.

Mighty is the mind that understands
Strong
in due time
Strong is the hand ,
Mighty that reprimands
Strong so that unbinds

Translation of an excerpt from the verse portion of Lotus Sutra, Chapter 25 (Avalokitesvara Chapter).
“…The body of benevolence, with thundering virtue,
Compassion as boundless as the clouds,
Raining down wisdom like ambrosia
To extinguish the embers of anguish.
If one is ensnared in prosecutions, trials and
Tribunals, or trapped in horrifying wars,
Invoke the strength of Avalokitesvara,
And peace and pardon shall sweep away adversity…”

On the street corner
In the center of chaos in the city
On a sordid sidewalk with others like her
She lay dormant with dirty worn hands
Holding the bottle of Wild Irish Rose held tightly
Broken in Shame
Her spirit numbed by so little affection
Her essence had paled with little grace
Her memories vanished with time
Her misery was all that was left
Her tearful eyes would beg from people passing by
"Please just help me live today" she wavered
She waned with little food and comfort for her plea
Her heart was still alive and revealed itself
Her benevolence shown through
For every coin she received
She gave one to someone else in need
"Alms of goodness" she would say........
Everyone called her "CHARITY"

1st Corinthians 13:13 Inspiration Poetry Contest

How gracious the brightest angels do gather
In golden, almighty light to redeem our way
Rejoicing in the pathway to eternity's stay
Their songs of forgiveness they sing for the father
To save merciful souls who lovingly pray
Beseeching forgiveness in our hollowed praise
In the eyes of our anointed God's doorway
For repentant are we to stand in his blessing
For the sins of man to surrender in benevolent ways
Bringing tidings of hope bestowed in our journey
Through the joy of knowing their sweet refrain
Our souls are lifted upward to become ordained
By our omnipotent Savior and loving host
Blessed be God, The Father, Son and Holy Ghost

The gleaming gold ripples
The lapping waves
Dancing n rolling its way on the slate grey sea
propelling and gliding towards the bay
Mumering some deep mysterious secret
The sunlight soaking sun ???? simmering the waves
The flaming golden orange ball ??
Gradually sinking
Almost touching the waves imperceptibly
Receding gradually on the vast ocean
Foaming drops of water
The thriving wind
The ethereal weather
The sparkling waves
The indulgent ambience and fragrant ?????????????? flowers
All. Work. To. Console my burdened heart ??? n soul
Nothing cld beat the resplendence of the tranquil evening
Incredibly astounding soothing the heart n soul together
Paying homage to the artistic luminecence of the creator
Acknowledging praying to the Almighty's benevolent chore.
MY GRANDPARENTS
I'm lucky
That with God's grace,
I enjoy the privilege
To have with me
My loving grandparents.
At forty three
Sixteen my son
When I suffer from deep nostalgia,
Long long back
I could memorise
A pair of benevolent faces
With smiling panacea.
With their affectionate hands
They fed, groomed
And brought me up,
Spent nights sleepless
Caring watchful and
Comforting me in their lap.
Ate exactly spent frugally
And minimum they wore,
But bought me tasty food
Nice clothes with happiness from the core.
Intensity of wrinkles
Growing deep with time
On their faces fine,
Can speak volumes about
Sacrificing their youth
For betterment of mine.
Owing a great deal
With honour I bow,
My dear grandparents
Very old you're though.
