On troubled roads of life, when opposing sides collide, Conflict of emotions clamors, agitating ego and pride, While empathy warns: let forgiveness be your guide, As benevolent angels, in missives of compassion chide. Mired in wins and losses, when humanity strums offbeat, Adversaries propagate hatred, and blatantly mistreat, As meaningless conversations puff up, donning conceit, While expressions of solemn amiability retreat in defeat. A proffer of calm and goodwill, checks enemy’s reign When sanctity prevails, calming a perturbed domain, As atonement and humility heal, soothing angst of pain And disturbed vibes seeking revenge, begin to wane. As nobility of repentance tenders offers of mercy, grace, Malevolent behaviors recede, ashamed in disgrace, And enlightenment of intellect inspires vacuous space, When hosting redemption, reformed enemies embrace. In affluence of cognitive thoughts informed minds elate Harboring tolerance and sympathy, discarding hate, Being harmonious with peace, mundane life they liberate, Achieving balance within, unfazed by travails of fate.

Yes, forgiveness is best for the person who has been offended, but it is not an easy road, but harboring unforgiveness only hurts the person who has been offended. It eats away until there is nothing left. The person who did the offense probably doesn't even know that they hurt someone or definitely doesn't care who they hurt. Thanks for sharing this one with us and for dropping by my page. Sara K

Those momentary riddles "troubled roads," wallow in the minds as time tarries on gripping the soul during the interim until lastly, the core becomes a decisive kicker of life's return with a simple beat of the heart "enlightenment of intellect inspires vacuous space" returns the whole of the better qualities that had gone amiss "Achieving balance within" beautiful Fave, Vijay. Exquisitely crafted and eloquently articulated, my friend. Certain individuals allow the folly of others to wield an excessive influence upon their existence. Time, ephemeral as it may be, implores countless souls to subdue their hubris and embrace benevolence. Your ruminations resonate with profound veracity, Vijay. May an abundance of splendid blessings befall you in this new year.

This is such a thought-provoking write, hued with miridical tapesries of wisdom that reflects through every line that you've so skillfully woven. How ego should be erased and empathy should be adopted as the final realm of kindness, as only then, humanity will be able to rise above from its 'offbeat' symphonies..Your rhymes are truly your spectacular strength along with your poetically rich hold on wordplay.."Harboring tolerance and sympathy, discarding hate" Following this, we can achieve peace

Pride is the main reason many hold a grudge. So sad, indeed. Humility truly is a virtue. Life is short and with that being said, many need to swallow their pride and be kind. Your thoughts hold so much truth, Vijay. Many wonderful blessings to you, in the new year. Hugs, Brandy

Beautifully written and well said my friend. Some people let the ignorance of others have too much effect on their own lives. You have to realize that people can be their own worst enemy. Well Done here Vijay. God Bless and Happy New Year. JB

Ah dear vijay, its always a brilliant write from you, and your way with rhymes truly is impeccable. I love the depth of this and how you’ve reminded your readers on why we need to forgive and let ego and pride slide to let light in. So much poetic wisdom flowing throughout your poem, in such eloquence . I especially loved the lines “ Being harmonious with peace, mundane life they liberate,“ so profound and so true, and theres a catchy cadence as always in your lines, loved reading this. BOL. FAVE

Being harmonious as opposed to a perturbed domain, calmness over hate, troubled waters as oppsed - very few will finally choose the aggresive way, far more pleasurable to be approaching such a situation or people from harboring tolerance, - 'Achieving balance within, unfazed by travails of fate'. Love this write a fav. dear friend. Hugs and blessings, Jennifer.

It's the best way because forgiving someone removes the burden of hate and wanting revenge. Nobody wants bad feelings to exist between them. Best of luck in the contest Vijay and a very happy new year to you. Tom

Once again you rhyme so well my friend, so many wonderful lines in your poem, but this stanza really appealed to me..A proffer of calm and goodwill, checks enemy’s reign When sanctity prevails, calming a perturbed domain, As atonement and humility heal, soothing angst of pain And disturbed vibes seeking revenge, begin to wane... I started writing for this, and a poem bled out so quick and after a really long time, I said wow.. normally i criticise my own poems! Best of luck in the contest
