Tongue Tied in Cliches

Tongue Tied in Clichés: A Blessing in Disguise

A blessing in disguise,
a double-edged sword—
a far cry from peace,
yet all in all,
at the drop of a hat
we reach for a ballpark figure,
beat around the bush,
break new ground,
burn the midnight oil.

By the book we cut to the chase,
play devil’s advocate,
fill the void with food for thought,
start from scratch,
then get cold feet.

Give the green light,
go down in flames,
hit the nail on the head,
find ourselves in over our head,
jump on the bandwagon,
keep something at bay,
leave no stone unturned.

Out of our depth,
past the point of no return,
we read between the lines,
take it with a grain of salt,
see only the tip of the iceberg—
until at last we throw in the towel.

NOW THAT WE ARE AWAKE

NOW THAT WE ARE AWAKE

Now that we are awake –
We had all the long while
Been in deep dreamless slumber
And while we were still
Still slumbering in our
Unreal bed of red roses
They planned, practised and projected
What “tomorrow” would likely bring

Now that we have realized with pain
That the “tomorrow” we failed to plan for
Has changed herself to “today”
We watch with mouth agape
As their deep buried conduit pipes
In our land of milk and honey
Drain the natural resources
That had sustained our life hitherto

Shall we fold our arms, do nothing or
Jump on the mass exodus bandwagon
While they milk our land dry?
Can we by this endless wailing
And tearful row and retorts
Within and outside our shores
Free our land, our people
From their firm and hurting grip?
Can we by mere declaration of innocence
Wish away the doom that looms?
Now that we are awake
Let’s answer these questions sincerely
As we continue to search for freedom.

no stone unturned move heaven
and earth pull your weight

go to great lengths make
a supreme effort bust a
gut and go all out

give it everything
you’ve got burning desire
step up to the plate

fire in the belly
spur on drive someone get the
ball rolling take pains

take the bull by the
horns jump on the bandwagon
and pull your socks up

eager beaver stay
the course give it your all throw
yourself into it

keep your eye on the

pull out all the stops

roll up your sleeves bite
the bullet and pushing the

WRONGDOING

It amazes and
Wow’s me
That some people
In this world
Will see and
Quickly accept
Wrongdoing then
Hop right on the
Bandwagon
Like it was said
Birds of a feather
Flock together

Didn'T Always Need Gold

11/14/22

It needs to be correctly retold
The problems came three fold
In came an extreme cold
Across the land beginning to seize hold
Giving nearly ever leaf mold
Nearby a market where there was meat sold
Experienced first hand or seen through a peephole
That was thousands of years or just a week old
In order to get it done, didn't always need gold

Droning on
According to you it was wrong
But not to GOD
Nor any dog
Regardless moving along
Staying strong
Beyond dusk and dawn
This world's f***ed up, I'm gone

Why do they always bandwagon?
What happened?
Zero if any compassion
Nobody asked them
Yet so quick to voice their hate about my actions
If only you could imagine
Sad that they laugh and backstab quick
My impact is
Like that of the Kracken
Combined with a Dragon

It's often a crap-shoot
That's the truth
Having nothing or everything to do with Black boots
Grassroots
Or Jackfruit
Feeling sad with the blues
Why is it that far too often it's bad news

transgender posers
pansexual persuaders
is it a fashion?
is it a trend?
like tattoos and piercings?
Is everyone going to jump on board the bandwagon?
Does saying we are transgender or pansexual make us feel unique?
But if we all say it, how unique are we?
Is it a fashion?
Is it a trend?

Daniel Henderson My Newest Lion-Tamer

I
Today, three years too late - almost - I read a short, insightful article by Daniel Henderson ("Holy Spirit ... Come? Or Control?" 2019(c) Daniel Henderson). I am so thrilled. I have good help in explaining New Testament theology.

II
Thank you Daniel come again
Yes. For me: Daniel has come again
To tame the lions of charismatic over-reach
Such because weak or new believers
Feel less, unless -
They join a bandwagon: "More, Spirit, more!"
Bandwagon Balderdash?
I said it, as a Poet, I wrote it
Last month already: "Jesus's best deposit" -
Holy spirit comes to indwell all as an escrow
Guarantee that Jesus claims us,
He will only leave if we leave LORD JESUS
No need to run all over, looking for more of the Most
Gentle, the Most
Holy Spirit
Of God
Also known as, GODS SPIRIT OF HOLINESS

III (Daniel HENDERSON explained):
" ...like other common elements of Christian vernacular, it [asking Spirit to come] is nit in the Bible. Nir is it a prayer consistent with the new covenant secured for us by the precious blood of Christ."

Premium Member Does Everybody Get a Prize

Will everybody get a prize? The kindergarteners ask me.
I am substitute teaching in art class.
There is an art contest, and I am explaining it to them.
"Not everybody," I say. Thinking "not most bodies."
This concept is foreign to them.
"No fair!" One of them yells.
They all jump on the "no fair" bandwagon.
I wish now I had never mentioned this contest at all.
The art teacher could have done it next week.
"Maybe the prize will be a Lego!" an optimistic student suggests.
There is loud cheering.
They are back to thinking that everybody gets the prize.

A Letter From Joesus: As Transcribed By No One Important

Dear followers, bandwagon and otherwise. The time is upon us that dissenters have started questioning my credibility. Being a freethinker and one who values evidence, logic, and reason, I assure you, my credibility is intact. Although, I sometimes do not prove my credibility through traditional means. Take, for example, MLA. The only format I’ve written in. But, alas, problems with style and format present themselves…
I do not constrictions of MLA, or any standardized system. those Grammar Nazis, and their Luftwaffe of subordinate clauses. I wanna do things how I wanna do them. I’m not taking credit for anything that isn’t mine. I give credit where credit is due; game recognize game. But don’t make me jump through hoops and all sorts of convoluted bull. My credibility should not be questioned, but rather, your archaic system should.

Unleash the Dragon

Never could I have fathomed
That you would unleash the dragon
Of lust power and fiery
No you didn’t even have to
Give me a piece of jewelry
For months now it’s been lateral
Of a relationship that
Has remained quite casual
We entered into a sexual agreement
Of satisfaction of our flesh
I would never tell
How you have been simply the best
Than the many lovers I’ve had
Being with you
Makes my physique quite glad
I’m developing an obsession
For devious gratification
But I maybe forsaking
A possible bright future
That would be very useful
For the two of us
Yet I can’t get over
Your incredible thrust
And I realize.....this is only
Risqué behavior
After this exploitation
We both need to confess
Our transgressions to the savior
You have unleashed the dragon
But I question if
I should remain on this bandwagon

What It Takes

They laughed hard
I carried on
They laughed again
I carried on
They laughed once more
I became good
They stopped laughing
I became better
They were silent
I became very good
they started praising
I was a success
they formed a bandwagon
So I got on a plane
and thanked them

Burning Structures

Achieve more than ever believed
newfound respect you’ll receive
the mock become your flock
admiration in their shock
ignored you when you contact
now instantly they'll get back

were always looking to show you up
used to say try to suck less
now they look to show you off
in awe of your success

If you hide in shadows
enjoying my dark days
laugh me a saddo
enjoying my heartache
jump a bandwagon
disloyal and farce mate
a lack of compassion
unconcern my starved state

partly enjoying my misery
small incident from our history
been waiting for what you see
blind notice pain reality

Say I need to be stronger
though I surge at my strongest
and still it goes on longer
don’t encourage me contest

suggestions my weakness
and how you could beat this
all the while I sleep much less
your ego weak too resist

Then you walk the bridge as it burn
build no replacement, walk no return
no longer is there a respect to earn
you show me a lesson, one I learn
