• Backed onto a wall
• Lips together
• Unattentive to the stormy weather
• Spending hours in the room
• Sweeping her away like a broom
• Muttering sweet nothings in-between breaths
• My heart doing backflips in my chest
• I used to worry if I cause her stress
• I can finally put that thought to rest
• She showers me with compliments
• That trump any doubt
• We're back at it again and things get dark
• "Oh hey, the lights went out!"

Mottled black and white rooster stood proud on his sled
Can he do handstands and back flips? Asked his cousin Ned.
He could but he won’t, his sister, a rule stickler said.
The rooster listened to all of these expectations with dread.

Drawn to a pair of silent shouting lips;
A taste of dandelions, she is Spring;
Electrified by two such stoic eyes,
her weather tends to do a few backflips;
Mood swings that feel like a honeybee sting,
Sun showers shine light in her foggy skies;
The path of the seasons comes full circle,
green hues of her eyes the freeze collapsing;
Ir’s all in her nature one would surmise;
Every color in bloom a wonderful
surprise.

As I sailed in a small ivory sailboat
on crystal blue waters.
The wind gently blew through my
mahogany hair.
Next, I saw dolphins doing backflips
out of the water causing a ripple
effect.
Then as I sailed some more I saw
a school of rainbow fish swimming
upstream.
Up above me, I saw a flock of birds
soaring high in the azure sky.
As the golden orb shined down on
me as I sailed adrift in the ocean
blue, on a Sunday afternoon.

I was only but a child
and to me, she was the littlest of bugs
within my tiny hands
I gave her the fragilest of hugs.
In my life I would experience
a similar range of emotions,
like gleaming at Niagara Falls
and watching my daughter do backflips in angelic motion.
But this day I do remember
as I examined my little friend
she had uneven black spots on a divided red shell
with one wing unfolded towards the left near end.
A miracle I imagined
that a lady bug would be in my hand
and that I may use my tiny fingers
to make her whole again.
My eyes wide open
and I just wanted to show my mom
to show her what nature brought me
that was absent of all sound.
To right the wing I puffed my lips
and blew it a little kiss
and to my amazement, she corrected herself
and flew away along with my childhood bliss.

the words
tumbled forth
like a waterfall
over a steep cliff
and when they
hit bottom
as words inevitably
will
they did handsprings
backflips
somersaults
and kept on
laughing

Sham the Leprechaun
Sham the leprechaun went to a pub
For some tasty St Patrick's Day grub
Then danced jigs fantastic
Quite enthusiastic
Did the splits, stuck like it, there's the rub.
The landlord said "Auld Sham's now a crock
And the silly old beggar's in shock"
Sadly, I'm not jokin'
His legs won't be closin'
He can't jig now, but boy, can Sham rock.
For Saint Patrick’s Day 2021
* * *
Add on
Sham the leprechaun was an acrobat
He did backflips and the splits on a mat
Those days are long gone
Bones aches and so on
While out with friends, he didn't think about that.

The moon glowed bright,
Under the sparkling sky.
Ocean made big waves.
Dolphins did backflips,
Fish swam in pools,
As the wind whistled.

Lately, in my dreams
I'm doing backflips
On trampolines
Vaulting higher than high
Bouncing off
The springy sky
Free from gravity
Of worry
As the ground
Falls off my feet
I careen
To the beat
Of tambourines
Tail lashing
Lavender flashing
Pom-pom sized
Orange eyes
I'm as free
As I want to be
Lately, in my dreams.

Acing awesome atomic axel jumps
Baffling backflips and butterfly jumps
Completing camel spins and cross strokes
Dance jumps, dance lifts and death spirals
Eclipsing extensions and edge jumping
Fearless heights for fan spirals and flying spins
Gracefully gliding across galactic ice
High-handed hydroblading holiday headliners
Icebreaking intensity involving idealistic idols
Jagged jump jabbing combos and sequences
Kicking back killer knockout maneuvers
Landing leg wraps and laudable lasso lifts
Music momentum for mirror skating moves
Negotiating nifty new nimble numbers
Orchestrating an opening outrageous act
Performing in front of passionate patrons
Quantum quality quadruple jumps
Rehearsed till radically racy and riveting
Striving for split jumps and split twists spread eagle
Traveling toe step and throw loop and triple flips
Winter gymnastics on ice eagerly awaited year to year

Battle Rap With Brenda Chiri
Brenda Chiri don't try me
It's not old and told,
same gun, bullets roll,
pull it hole
strolling rhymes,
quick time,
literally laying these words at pace
while you take out a pen and paper
jotting down like a waiter,
rhymes to cater
couldn't be straighter,
down the line
the same constant whine
from the kind drinking wine,
out the bottle not the glass,
you aint got the throttle or the class
to spas alongside my asss,
I'll set you a task
watch you finish last,
dragging your handbag to bits,
alongside your sandbag tets,
I can do the splits and backflips,
you have splits in your hips,
see me now, I plough like magic,
your comebacks are plastic
made with fake fabric,
with laxative patches
you're like Bush giving a speech,
five letter words beyond your vocal reach,
needing a teacher like a freak,
I fight on the beaches,
I'll fight you and all your beaches,
egging you on,
like Brenda you strong
but your words make me mong,
so until next time for now I say to you so long.

Petals in the wind
Gusting through the trees
Landing in the grasses
Mid the flowers and the bees
Petals in the wind
Dancing all around
Flitting through the belfry
Far above the distant ground
Petals in the wind
Petals in my hair
Somersaults and backflips
Filling up the scented air
Petals in the wind
Petals on the sand
Petals shifting, changing
Forming patterns that are grand

People doing backflips in a pool
Were told to stop.
They ignored the lifeguard and
They also dissed a cop.
Soon the pool was closed to all
And several were arrested.
“Hire more security!”
Was what most folks suggested.
That pool holds 1500
And was closed for many years.
Now that it’s reopened,
It’s reactivated fears.
The saddest part to me was that
Just one or two can spoil
The joy of hundreds in the water
When the temps can boil.
They say that one bad apple
Can destroy a great big pile.
Those apples should be sent
To some deserted desert isle!

Do mental somersaults and backflips to establish a message
Invisible thoughts of madness rebuilt no blemish the wreckage
And this impression of subconscious stability holds many debts
So aggressions like monstrous in a degree to pay respects
Removing pain built partitions without the builders permission
Recreating brains dimensions now more sculptured the decisions
Verbally breaking down the encryptions of the mind
Purposelly making sounds for descriptions to the blind
Trying to humbly bend over backwards let fly not innocence captured
Supplying calmly hand when their awkwards confidence easily fractured
Instantly universalise languages throughtout cities, villages and any mountain range
Mentally solidify the dangerous so they physically make the boldest change
If I could artistically revitalise this world of woe
The colors would stay but division would go
When my brush touches canvas there'd be words such as these
When these seeds dust the planet there'll be better trees
