Notes About The Poem

Sham the Leprechaun

Sham the Leprechaun
Sham the leprechaun went to a pub For some tasty St Patrick's Day grub Then danced jigs fantastic Quite enthusiastic Did the splits, stuck like it, there's the rub. The landlord said "Auld Sham's now a crock And the silly old beggar's in shock" Sadly, I'm not jokin' His legs won't be closin' He can't jig now, but boy, can Sham rock.
For Saint Patrick’s Day 2021 * * *
Add on
Sham the leprechaun was an acrobat He did backflips and the splits on a mat Those days are long gone Bones aches and so on While out with friends, he didn't think about that.

Hello Belle … sometimes I wonder what is put in green beer to ignite the Irish into a twelve month recovery program before doing it all again - thank you Belle - Lindsay

Hi Lindsay, I’ve no idea what goes into green beer but wouldn’t mind trying some of it :-) Thank you ~ Belle

Belle, I twisted my coccyx doing a banana split and the pain was awful for months. I'm just thinking Sham must be in a lot of pain. The "jig's up." Funny poem! If for the St. Patty's Day Limerick Contest, best wishes for a win. Hugs, Carolyn

Hi Carolyn, watched a demonstration of the banana split and am not surprised you got hurt. It’s the same for Sham too. Not going into the contest, only one Limerick allowed and these two belong together. Thank you, hugs ~ Belle

Ha Alexis, love the Limerick response. Can’t enter this in the contest as only one Limerick is allowed. I’m putting yours as an add on to mine... Belle :-)
