hallucinatory

no thoughts tornadoed continents waiting
our ignited centres spaced dichotomy
unnamed species inhabited surrounds
we knew not of wisdom pounds
too much ayahuasca in the Amazon

Premium Member Warning All Dogs On St Patrick’s Day!

Should you spend St Patrick’s Day in merry old Derry
Beware of sheepdogs so smug and contrary
He swears he’s Irish, he’s not!
He’s just an old English sot
So toss the cur, drink up, and get your dog some therapy

Before Amazon

Think of your life
Before Amazon came.
At gift-giving time,
You had no one to blame

If the present you purchased
For a certain date
Wasn’t mailed out in time
And arrived much too late.

It was all on your shoulders -
The shopping, the wrapping;
Too bad if the calendar
Caught you out napping.

Now you click on the site
And you order away
With your gift, in a day or two,
Well on its way.

Impersonal? Yes,
But it gets to the door
Without much of the hassle
You dealt with before.

An occasional gift
Sent in old-fashioned style
Makes me marvel that someone
Went that extra mile.

Premium Member OUT FOR DELIVERY

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Porch becomes an altar of anticipation~
another box, another small salvation.
Who knew joy could arrive so flatly packaged,
wrapped in tape and mild neglect?
We whisper sweet nothings to the delivery app,
tracking miracles like digital wise men.
Out for delivery—the sacred hymn
of last-minute repentance.
Without Prime, we’d be marooned
in the land of sold out and backordered,
forced to gift IOUs and half-hearted hugs—
a truly unholy end to December.
Premium Member Visiting the Amazon
the lush thick Amazon jungle is teeming with life
jaguars are quickly becoming endangered
as is the pink river dolphin and the giant otter
sadly, hunters have taken most of them out
the rivers and streams of the Amazon host millions of species
many of them have not yet been identified by scientists
these animals may not exist any where else in the world.
The Amazon is a unique home for aquatic animals.
the forest canopy resonates with the cries of howler monkeys
answering bird calls come into play in the form of whistles and chirps
was that a zebra finch? It might be, or the whine of insects
The Amazon is an experience you will find nowhere else, ever.
Premium Member Why we Buy on Amazon
box store drills were eighty dollars and up
we stopped and priced them on our way to sup
Guess I will order one on Amazon, husband finally said
We got one for fifty, and she is pretty – pink and red.
TELL ME THE COLOUR OF WORDS
Tell me words are red
And I'll tell of the lives
We lose everyday in the middle east
Of the lives in danger in Northern Nigeria
The Sahel, Ukraine, Russian and Syria.
Tell me words are white
And I'll tell you how a world of peace is
I will tell you how you go to bed at ease
And how deeply you sleep
And wake up with peace.
Tell me words are blue
And I'll ask you to come to Freetown
To stare at the Atlantic ocean
And see the might of nature
So blue, so big, so blessed, suffering from excessive heat.
Tell me words are green
The Amazon, the northern Savannah
Trees of different kinds, flowers
Disappearing slowly from the face of earth
For we choose to eat than preserve.
Tell me the colour of words
And I'll paint you a picture
Of grief, of agony and of neglect
Don't expect an image that glows
Not a Mona Lisa but you'll see wonders
Have any of you seen the YouTube clip where you can darken labels on Amazon packages with a lighter
….
Not of importance
But Amazon now have a new department
dealing with customers who set fire to their own packages
Premium Member overgrown Amazon Ape
The overgrown Amazon ape
With his furry tree trunk wide nape
Flew over wearing a red satin cape
Birds cringed at his cumbersome shape
He carried a bag made of crepe
In plum, fuchsia and possibly grape
A fancy one-of-a-kind hairy ape
Premium Member Tundra of the Soul
I am the tundra barren cold and numb
A frozen wasteland where no light can reach
Between these poles, my insatiate self-succumbs.
In icy silence where no whimpers humb
My thoughts like glaciers grind, erode, and breach
I am the tundra, barren, cold, and numb.
The Amazon within once vital thrumb
Of life and hope now withers out of reach
Between these poles my insatiate self-succumbs.
Anxiety a howling blizzard's sumb
Entombs me deep a creature bleached of speech.
I am the tundra, barren, cold, and numb.
Depression creeps permafrost of my slumb
While echoes of lost joy my soul beseech
Between these poles, my insatiate self-succumbs.
Yet in this waste, where all seems overcome
A seed of strength cracks ice defies the leech
I am the tundra, barren, cold, and numb.
Between these poles, my insatiate self-succumbs.
An Amazon Box
We expected an Amazon box,
Which had toothpaste and sandals and socks,
Plus a few odds and ends
Which, when Amazon sends,
Rarely ends up with stumbling blocks.
Yet the package, this time, never came
And we’re not really sure who to blame,
For the app said, “You’ll find
That the doorman had signed,”
But he didn’t, despite what they claim.
Finding someone to help was a chore –
Service isn’t like it was before –
But at last we were told
There’s a one-day long hold
So the whereabouts they can explore.
We will wait before calling their bluff,
Though I doubt that they’ll locate our stuff.
Once I thought they were great
But I’ve noticed, of late,
Amazon isn’t quite up to snuff.
Freedom from bars
All I seem to spit
Is stars
Come on Denise
Can’t you see
Me on my knees
Begging for your love
Betraying my life
With god above
To be with you
+ nothing to do
Let’s watch a movie
And i'll fool with you
Under the covers
You’re a great lover
Better than others
Is it because of this
Love I feel
You kiss me and say, ”I know it’s real
I can feel your heart beating
Feel like it’s me you’re completing
I'll love you now and forever
That’s the only deal”
I thought to say something clever
But all I managed was ok
Never thought I’d see the day
So, in her arms I’ll forever stay
MJ DiBenedetto and CS Parker
Today is a gift
It could help me shift
From feeling sad wishing
Things could have been different, uplifting
The truth is thin for me
Maybe for you too
To uplift my spirits
And thank my higher power
For giving me each hour
To love my life and begin again
To make the best of what I’ve been given
Each day to relax, interact, connect,
To live, love and learn
All past mistakes to accept
And move on without regrets
Premium Member be her man poem 6 2023 cs parker on amazon
Just want someone
To hold at night
Someone I can love
With my whole life
She won’t appear
As a stranger to me
In her I can see
A natural beauty
Can’t let her go around
Too scared of the dark
I’ll do my part
And hold her hand and
Kiss her slow
+ be her man
