Autumn’s story is full of rustic shades
that echo deep from every vale and hill
of splendor and of forest colonnades,
as one by one leaves float and spin and spill
in frosted shadows and in evening’s chill
Dogwoods change,in carmine escapades,
to celebrate old summer’s standing still
Scarlet leaves and shades of marmalades
Shiraz, Claret and Burgundy distill
bright tones of nature for the soul to swill.
Amber, apricot and goldenrod brigades
capturing our gaze and hearts to thrill
Piles of forest treasures spilling in cascades
with dappled browns’ and caramel’s goodwill,
All opulence of Autumn to fulfill

Hanibal the piranha
Along the Amazon he swam
Looking for juicy treats
Whether,
Animal, vegetable or man
As he swims through the waters
His teeth so razor sharp
Depending on what he eats
He inevitably goes parp
Then lots of little bubbles
To the surface they all rise
Where lots of little fishes
Hold their nose and close their eyes
This makes Hanibal the Piranha
Awfully, awfully angry
As they forget his razor sharp teeth
For in his belly he's feeling hungry
So he rushes through the waters
As little fishes dart and hide
Pacing about his territory
Who to eat, he can't decide
So all you little fishes
Who laugh when Hanibal parps
You'll have to watch your backs
Because Hanibals teeth are sharp
Courtesy the mighty Amazon successful deliverance reported...
Regarding unexpected Gadshill gift
(as if delivered from Magi)
tamper proof wrapped,
thus an obligation goads me
to communicate following
trademarked™ poetically apt
reasonable rhyme capped
with feeble airborne attempt,
no matter arms waved futilely,
madly, and ridiculously flapped
fortunately I eluded being kidnapped
by men in white coats
spellbound and rapt
before arriving at 20965 Young Avenue
Bend, Oregon 97703-8461
without energy being zapped.
The abovementioned transmission to whit
hesitantly, yet immediately, wisely scuttled
cuz analogous to Icarus, a free spirit
ignoring Daedalus warning soaring
too close to the sun
earning stronger epithet than "you nit"
true to adolescent hubris,
the son blithely ignoring
his father as a hypocrite,
but honest to goodness truthfulness
of above line entails
caution and discretion I readily admit.
Just now, I sample
Navitas Organics blueberry
hemp power snack(s)
wondering how many chewy squares
yours truly needs to consume
before me noggin
goes wickety wickety wack,
but... just maybe amply ingested
cubed plant based superfood
could allow, enable and
provide me means to take flight,
whereby off gray carpeted tarmac
goes Matthew Scott Harris.
So best be on the lookout okey doke
for one nondescript buzzfeeding bloke
long haired pencil necked geek fella,
who juiced awoke
and suddenly found himself at Trader Joe's
(with a twenty dollar gift card)
among garden variety generic folk
such as special people spanning Costco calendar,
who sport and trumpet surnames such as
Dunning, Harris, McGeehan no joke,
yet amidst madding crowd there could be
spy versus spy donning dagger and cloak.
anyway hoop fully thee above laughter did evoke,
perhaps e'en yar own literary juices
I didst unwittingly stoke.
That night you walked into the room; my heart skipped a beat;
I knew by the shadow of the full moon, kismet would have us meet.
You flirted with every guy in the place, leaving jaws dropped to the floor.
You could tell by the look upon my face, I was hoping for a little bit more.
I would walk bare foot upon coals of fire; I would swim down the Amazon;
I will let you fill me with desire, just please don’t lead me on.
You sang a set; took a break; sat at the table with me.
I knew my future was at stake, when you placed your hand upon my knee.
My heart’s been broken beyond repair; I have a history of bad choices.
Guardians whispered, “Be Aware”, but I ignored the Angel’s voices.
I would walk bare foot upon coals of fire; I would swim down the Amazon;
I will let you fill me with desire, just please don’t lead me on.
I stayed until your gig was done; offered to drive you to your home.
You said, “Come in, let’s have some fun, nights shouldn’t be spent alone”.
My feet got blisters; the current grew rough
I couldn’t resist her, couldn’t get enough.
At the break of dawn, we made love again, then you said I had to go.
This wasn’t a beginning just another dead end; a feeling I had come to know.
I walked bare foot upon coals of fire; I swam down the Amazon;
I let her fill me with desire, but she was just…
leading
me
on.
Hello Hello my fair weathered friend
Your CO2 has risen again
Like a wave of negative omissions
Keeping us gridlocked in confusing seasons
We need a great escape before it is too late
A plot to plan some positive action
Working with Natural Energies, ozone friendly technologies
Help reduce our Earth's Catastrophies
40 years left for our Amazon , completed de forestation
The motor of the jungle beats to a warring drum , transporting real dollars for a greedy sum
The only roots left will be a direct payment of iniquity .
Burning out the indigenous tribes, destroying more innocent lives
Hello Hello my fair weather friend
Your CO2 has risen again
Katsina, she gave us a warning, there is a storm of change and it is brewing
The North pole Iceburgs are crying , running out of time , a river in our Seas washing away sandcastles on our vulnerable shoreline
We need to get this right
Wake Up Now and see the light
We need to get this back to rights
Begin to love our planet insights
We need to get this right
Unite together our compassion for saving life .
Mother Nature, Athena and Mother Earth
Apply wisdom and beauty to life
they're icons whose bounty has infinite worth
offering sustenance throughout strife
Mother Mary grants us mercy and love
Our flag; long may she wave
Venus, the love god, shines above
Amazon women; so strong and brave
Accolades for such women never cease
Their value cannot be denied
Noble women of love, courage and peace
who we admire and in whom we confide
But women who aren't symbols, myths or gods
are never so grandly exalted
they may have value no one ever lauds
But for our original sin are faulted
This tribute is to women, here on earth
Thank you for your guidance and love
And for providing the gift of birth
Soon
going to be a
Boom
rushing toward the Tsum
Soon
Zoom
running out of the
Room
you hear the big
Boom
Zoom
sweet, sweet Marmalade
voiceless beauty God has made
Modern-day Solomon faithful bride
Always by his rib side
And as other men drool
Jealous of them two
Boom
Move
You
Soon
she has lips like lemons hair gold
ruby-red caramel brown is her skin texture
breast like coconut centres with almonds
An Amazon Beauty
She has so much Intuit
When she walks into the room
The
Room
goes
Zoom
Boom
Boom
Boom
Marmalade sweeter than chocolate cake
Marmalade use to turn the hearts of men
gives him a toothache turn their bodies to stone
Never leaving them alone
Now she's married to Solomon
Impending
Doom
Running out of
Room
Seeing this
Soon
Zoom

Written words by James Edward Lee
With the will of a princess warrior
her bum was like an old cheese.
She had biceps made for duty,
although not enough to please.
A beauty with an appetite.
An Amazon storming Queen.
Her thighs small mighty pillars
with shins held fast between.
This spirit motile girl.
A woman wise in youth.
Her rapture tamed in tolerance.
Maturing as is couth.
With dreams of sharing knowledge
and hopes of bringing peace.
This one to call a child;
too innocent to cease.
In many ways a soldier.
Though none would she prefer.
A toddler in her dreaming,
where aging soul would stir.
Soon coming in her glory.
When all will see her thrive.
This child of God made worthy
that God should see her drive.
** What’s Torn **
What’s been torn off or away may be
a recurring theme — of dreams or memory —
that nags, popping up unexpectedly
to recall or, for dear losses, again grieve…
The things thieved
from life — as divinely conceied,
like the Amazon forest’s trees —
don’t leave, but remain in a spectral reality…
What’s been torn away
may similarly refuse to leave —
like my calve, cut from my body, will scream,
sending phantom pain in suffered agonies…
What was seized from me on that mournful day,
— sculpted by dancing ballet for a decade,
stayed as I went from anestesized to awake
into a daytime nightmare without any escape…
When life sends us to dire places,
where hopelessness would subjugate us,
God will guard our souls and grace us
with a strength: resounding to the soul…
Left ragged, like having my health fail
in reaching goals, I will feel my heart wail
near breaking, but I refuse to let my faith pale
…believing the prayers of heaven will entail
blessings to help all God’s children prevail.

**an addition to “On Phantom Pain” poem still in progress at this time
Eugene awoke and looked upon
His Mirror in the morning Dawn
He saw himself and stopped to yawn
Then saw instead his friend Antoine.
Well Antoine said ‘come in, come on
I’ll whisk you with this Magic Wand
Then we can journey to the Pond
And sail astride the Silver Swan’.
And once inside the Looking Glass
Amazing conquests came to pass
Before the midday hourglass
Released its sands upon the grass.
Well, first they sought and found the pond
And hypnotized the Silver Swan
To sail them to the edge beyond
To Charles, the Froggy Vagabond.
Well Charles was said to be ‘a King’
Whose Crown was hanging from a String
While hopping with a golden Ring
Just waiting for a Kiss in Spring.
Now Antoine said he’d kiss ‘the King’,
(Or better said ‘the Froggy Thing’)
But Eu refused to do such thing
Unless the Frog removed the Ring.
The Ring transfixed poor Froggy’s Nose
Instead of round his tiny Toes
To keep away the Midnight Crows
As far as anybody knows.
When Froggy’s Nose was finally free
There was a sudden kissing spree
With Ant and Eu (and Swan made three)
To fix the Froggy’s Destiny.
The Rest is rather imprecise.
As to the trio’s Sacrifice
The facts alone should now suffice -
The Pond and Froggy turned to ice.
And Swan became a Toucan Bird,
The strangest thing I ever heard,
Instead of chirp she only purred
And even then she sometimes slurred.
Though Charles the Frog was mighty cold,
Upon the Pond he stiffly strolled
Behind the The Ring that slowly rolled
In search of one more nose to hold.
Well, Eu watched Antoine set the Pace
When beating Toucan in the Race
To seek and find a warmer Space
In front of Mother’s Fireplace.
So Antoine waved his charmed Baton
And whisked Eu back to Mum’s Salon -
But looking back, Eu’s friend was yon
Behind the silvered Amazon.
