Aficionados Poems

Premium MemberStanding on my Hands

if i read you my poem
silently

will you hear all the
dumb dumb

in between the spaces
where the divine

touchés
amusing you, telling you

to share
what you saw in the dark

believe me
there is always more

and those aficionados
who believe

blindly
that their words belong to them

only
how blessed we are

to be almost
remote

and to spin our wheels
within

and without each other
and yet

we pay each other a debt
as we turn over

Spring seeds of poetry
hand to hand

i’ll digress
while standing on my hands

my fingerprints
in beach sand, in primordial goop,

on the moon and sun,
on everyone

if you read me your poem
silently

i’ll hear all the
dumb dumb

Premium MemberPerfect Rose

Nothing is lovelier than the perfect rose
Exploding with color from a single bud
A vivid red nothing surpasses, I suppose
Favorite of lovers and vain bluebloods,
Aficionados excitedly await the bloom
Master gardeners eagerly show them,
Camera at ready with a magnifying zoom
For an exquisite annual with prickly stem,
Well photographed before a coming rain
For such beauty may never again appear
It is snipped for a vase to extend its reign,
But, I suspect it will come back next year.

Aficionado

Aficionados here and there,
People craft, lead and build.

Those traders are teasers of the wind,
Sail and sail, draft and rate,
Be your own rafter till you lead the machines.

Magician of genius,
Roundtables of roundabouts,
Wheel and chain wheel every unshielded process,

Superhuman intellectuals fragmenting puzzles of equations,

Build this new cybernetics!
Nemesis are the rivals of each creationists.

Mechanics are our homepage.

Virginity Redo

When I was young I cleaned my socks
One got knocked off while making merry
One got lost at the Happy laundry or mat
Somewhere between the bleach and spin recycling
It went missing between innocence and drying

Stop is not a word most understood by laundry aficionados
Like good old souls that get tossed and turned to slow
Rolled up in a ball, socked away with all lost socks
Life is not worth living without clean socks
I'll settle for a pair of dirty
Feet need a match for immortality

I grow old and withered with one contraceptive on
A device, a worn out unholy sock full of holes
Not unlike a donut without a nose
As is my story once it is told

Making many children makes me bitter
Sometimes I get my socks knocked off
But they return to me no matter what
It does not matter much to me
What is one more mouth to feed
One more sock or soul to mend
Feet need security
Or they will be darned forever

Return to me my virginity, my sanity
Lost socks, lost innocence are all the same
Where do they go when they go missing?
Sock heaven or maternity leave?
Socks give me little pleasure
Laundromats give me less

Premium MemberSun Aficionados

Summer’s over
fall gone past
the sun’s officially retired
gloom and doom
greyfulness
dreary days
the world is in decay
slowing down
finding time
for introspection
almost anxious
for a sprinkling
of the white stuff
till what joy again
when the sun
decides to bless us
with its gilded glow

Hello, Aficionados: Color Me Forgiven

If you are reading my poem
For rhyme and meter, you
May turn the page for my age
Wants to tell you a tale of
Raising children, falling on toys,
Diseases and broken bones,
Nights of fear and
Days of joy.
Of loss of a husband and
Middle class money,
Too much for stretching,
Too little to spend;
Of in-laws in-loves and
Millions of out-laws.

I will tell you of surgeries,
Heart stuff and stents
Learning mechanics to fix
Old cars that wouldn’t start and bent;
Sewing machines and mending jeans;

Strong thread that ran through
The silken colors of love,
That came down freely from above.

But if you yearn for rhyme and meter,
Move on, change these lines and
Color me forgiven.

Premium MemberSubmerge

Dipping into Beowulf with Grendel,
  and Chaucer's Canterbury Tales;
  Wading into Paradise with Milton,
  then submerging with the Bard:
Sinking deep into Lear and Othello
Hamlet and Macbeth, trying not to
  drown. Rapidly surfacing to the
  Tempest! gulping some fresh air.

Now sailing toward the Five Romantics,
  In Xanadu did Kublai Khan...
  Water, water, everywhere!
and so many drops to drink...

Poetry aficionados reside on dry land,
Yet life, fully savored, lies deep in ocean sands.

Clacking Away

When home computers made their way
Into our homes, things changed
And desks in dens or bedrooms
Were cleared off and rearranged.

The typewriter was certainly
The first thing taken out,
Tossed or shelved inside a closet
By all those but the devout.

Yet those true aficionados
Through these years have clacked away,
Knowing all those Smith-Coronas
Would be cool again some day.

A resurgence is occurring
With a slowly building hype
That it’s awesome, boss and groovy
On a typewriter to type.

There’s a reason we should cherish
Retro items from the past
For their coolness factor often has
Most modern things outclassed.

A Gem That Tricks

A GEM THAT TRICKS

A Aficionados of gems find this gem emerald by day, ruby by night

G Gem so rare and ravishing turns trickster in the light
E Embellishment in gold to adorn your beloved’s ring or pendant
M Mother Nature’s chameleon in stone, shiny and resplendent !

T This shares its status as June birthstone with cultured pearl and moonstone
H Hosts a magic show this pleochroic gem through its dramatic colour tone
A Alexandrite is this precious gemstone genuinely gracious sans prudery
T This mined in the Urals, named after Czar, seen in prized estate jewellery

T The ladies with pride can flaunt one stone as two, in day and in night
R Radiating green or purplish red matching their dresses with delight

Tribute To Paul Walker

O dear lord! You are found guilty of unjust,
It is not only his kin, whose heart is heavy with pain , but his whole family of aficionados,
What made him famous, took his life,
What he loved , took his life.
O dear lord! You are found guilty of unjust.

You were the life and soul of the series,
You made the fans adore the movie,
Today, when you are not around,
The movie is not the same anymore,
Your bereavement is strongly felt,
Tears dropping from our eyes is a proof of what you meant to us,
I can not resurrect you but your indelible memories surely is imprinted on our mind.
It is never goodbye! Paul
It's never.

Loves Glorious Creed

Glorious creed love eternal be upon
your saccharine spirit...

Nothing ever shadowed your memoirs-
consumed me whole,
No ballad sweetest fictions worthy capturing-
blink of diamond eyes.
Hallowed spirit profound frame,
views portraits-
heavenly prospects.
Stories my million aficionados haven't
rusted your sacred fountain.

Nev'r ever the love I sanctify be
stopped by their envious kisses.
No other soul may embrace
masterpiece and precise
shadow fortress of soft inner space.
Goddess like beauty is mightier than
wonder statue of majestic Psyche and Athena.

You're unique, creator had ever made.
Thanks for wonders,
infinite joys and caresses.
You've been my devotion and
eternal gift from above-
precious than any ever made.

Just one thing,
give me a sign for hazard seeing the
wonders of your heavenly eyes.

On Canvas

Blank
                      plain white
                      the canvas lies
                      calls for spectrum of imagination
                      and the act of creation
                      the touch of a hand
                      while alone it waits
                      on the easel

until gentle strokes of a brush

                      create the painting, now framed
                      drawing a crowd of aficionados
                      to be seen, not touched
                      the artist’s creation
                      stirs others’ imagination
                      the canvas now true
                      colorful
                      fulfilled.
