Occasionally as I am searching for places to submit I come across places I think MANY of you might get work accepted. I hope you don't mind me sharing with you. I will be submitting here too but I'd love to get more than one of us PS'ers in the same venue!

#45 – Fall 2014 – Poets of Faith

Poetry: This issue will be dedicated to Poets of Faith. The poems may be any style or length, but must be written by someone for whom religious faith is a central aspect of
their writing and their lives, with a special emphasis on members of the clergy. Please explain how this applies to you. The poems should also relate to faith in some way, even if only subtly. This is a self-selecting theme; we won’t be vetting anyone’s religious credentials, but each contributor will be labeled as a Poet of Faith and will have to explain that faith in the contributor notes.

Essays: We’d like to publish a few personal narrative essays about the relationship between religious faith and poetry. Our preference is always an engaging, non-academic essay, which focuses on some aspect of the theme. Please query with any questions. Essays can be any length, and it’s fine to send both poems and an essay at the same time.

Artwork: We still need cover and internal art for this issue. Photography, paintings, or collages relating to the theme will all be considered. Submissions are accepted as lo-res email attachments (jpegs preferred), or by mail on a CD. Production will require
hi-res images (300dpi @ 9.25? x 6.125?).

I think that these blogs are great, hon! If even one poet becomes inspired to send out their work or to try something different, even JUST ONE, than I think that your efforts and enthusiasm have found true merit. Knowledge is always a good thing. Hubby got me a book of markets for fiction for Christmas... lord, so many LESS compared to twenty years ago. The pratt wrote on the inside cover, "Now give me twenty" Poetry delights but fiction can pay a bit more. I'm off to bed. Slept lots today, thanks to a new herbal remedy I bought this morning. It's a tincture mix that includes everything from Golden Seal (nature's antibiotic) to Cayenne pepper! $30!! OW!! but it is already working!!!

Hello Deborah...Thanks for sharing this blog..I remember when you mentioned thr Germ.magazine..I gave it a try and my haiku was published ..thanks to you.I might retry and look into this as well.I am going to try and publish in a magazine called haikus(Its named haikus for a reason..re the publisher's child)..cause of cours haiku remains haiku sing or plural.There is even haiku journal..But i think you or someone else mentioned that before.Please do let us know if you come across other magazines open for publishing and thankyou dear : )

You don't have to be a member of the clergy, but they do want to hear from them, you just need to EXPLAIN how writing is an aspect of your FAITH in your daily LIFE Ruben O. many here almost solely write verse about God & Jesus, their writing is like their prayers
