Contest Description
What to Submit?
For this particular contest, I would like contestants to choose one of five idioms I've chosen using the word “life.”
You may choose any poetry form with ten lines or fewer. If you use a really short Asian form, I do not want to see multiple verses of them or a double tanka or limerick (I prefer these types of poems to stand alone as one verse). You may, however, use two short stanzas of most rhyming forms. You may use free verse also. My points system remains the same. I judge by use of good English, creativity, imagery and/or wit, correct use of form chosen, and my own taste in poetry (I like poetry with clarity). I take off points for incorrect use of punctuation, grammar and spellings, and of course, the use of AI. New poems only. Please use only one of the seven expressions listed below. Let them inspire you to come up with a cute poem. (I don’t mind a dark poem either). You need not necessarily use the actual meaning of the expression. You could come up with your own interpretation if so desired.
The expressions below MUST be used as your title or incorporated fully into your title along with a few other words if you choose to do so. Best of luck!
1. For the Life of Me
2. Not on Your Life
3. Get a Life
4. Hanging on for Dear Life
5. As Big as Life
6. In Another Life
7. Set for Life
