“He rescues those whose spirits are crushed.” Psalm 34.14 NLT **************************************************************** Hanging on for Dear Life A stalwart spruce tree battered by wild gales And assaulted by vile envious men, Donning themselves the shameless garb of friends, Now still stands as a sad sorrowful tale. Battered, but not shattered, the lonely tree Clutches on to its roots to stand around, Hanging on for dear life to the firm ground And making to the Lord a humble plea.

My greetings to you dear poetess. I wished to send you a soup mail, but I am not able to do so. In the poetry contest "A 5-Liner on your Life Poetry Contest" sponsored by you, grateful if you could clarify whether one of the titles "Stoy of your Life" should be "Story of your Life". Thanks and regards.

Thank a lot poetess for appreciating my poem and for its placement in the poetry contest sponsored by you. In fact, the poem is an allegory briefly outlining my own plight, battered both by vile men and fate, but still trying to face life like the battered tree that unfortunately a gale can blow down. Due to the length limit I could not expand the poem.
