Contest Description
What to Submit?
I' ve been thinking what to do for my contest this month and I got inspired by a recent post Line Gauthier made - a short poem about her life. My challenge is a bit different: You have the choice of three titles. You must use one of these titles and make sure your poem speaks to that title: The Story of My Life/ The Joys of My Life/ The Love(s) of My Life. You may choose among these five forms: Tanka (modern or traditional)/ Limerick/ Free Verse/ Quintain (English) OR Quintain Sicilian (which needs to use iambic pentameter).
Judging is based on several factors: adherence to the form chosen/ good language skills/ use of poetic devices such as metaphor, imagery, alliteration, etc. / punctuation used correctly (but not used in tanka form.) Also, if you use good line breaks, I prefer unpunctuated poetry to a poem that is poorly punctuated. My last requirement is that the poem really appeals to me, and hopefully by now, many of you know the type of poetry I like: clever or beautiful or unique. I probably will give N/A if the poem is difficult to understand. or mundane.
Please make this poem be about YOU.
