Stuck

Please note*** only sonnets or the form I call poulter's measure..Read all the way through to the end so you will know about these two forms..

Okay, here goes ....I hope that I am clear on what I want with this one..

Have you ever been locked in a closet or stuck in an elevator? Maybe locked out of your home? What did you feel? What did you think? Is there one item that you really wished that you had with you like a chocolate bar, a CD player, your poetry writing notebook, a padded cushion so you could sit down, etc.? Don't feel that you have to answer one these particular questions or all of them; just use these ideas  as inspiration to write a poem..

Whether you're drawing on personal experience or relying on your imagination, write a poem about the feelings of being in a confined space for a indefinite amount of time or trapped outside your home unable to get in for who knows how long..

Two choices: In a small space or Trapped outside your home...

Two choices: Sonnet or What I call poulter's measure..

The type of sonnet I want is like this:

Rhyme scheme: a, b, a, b,   c, d, c, d,  e, f, e, f    g, g

Syllable count: 10 syllables per line

Turn : A turn happens in a sonnet so around the middle of the second stanza you will make a turn in what you have said up to that point..

Remembe the last two lines are a short summary of the poem..

Enter Sonnet in as Sonnet

Or Poulter's Measure:

4 or 5 stanzas

rhyme scheme: Second line rhymes with fourth line of each stanza

Syllable count: 8,6,8,6

Remember the 6 count lines rhyme but the 8 count lines don't rhyme..

Enter Poulter's Measure as Rhyme
