Make the Wait Poetic
I went out for a walk in the evening
Kept my pace with the sinking silent sun
My wife called she went for a brief shopping
And would be back home before I return.
I came back in my own time not so quick
Found the door locked for she hadn’t returned
Held hostage on the road by the traffic
Made me realize how our times’ wheel turned.
I sat tired on the dark steps of the door
Searched the memory when this happened last
Finding none I told mind already sore
Think a sonnet on things that happen first.
Locked out by modernity chaotic
My mind tried to make the wait poetic.
