Born in Skipton raised in the village of addingham in wharfedale, moved to New Zealand for 36 years, now a resident of Perth Western Australia, i have 2 sons 3 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren..Sons were born in the uk, 2 grandchildren in New Zealand, 1 grandchild and 4 great grandchildren are true blue aussies.

UPDATE ON HARRY

Hi friends, firstly to let you know your messages of support have been read to Harry who thanks everybody for their good wishes and prayers. Unfortunately, I have to tell you he was moved into a care home where his wife can stop with him but sadly he is now on borrowed time. He cannot use his phone or laptop now and we are praying his time on this earth is comfortable and he is surrounded by love. I am sure he would wish me to thank you all and apologise for his not being able to comment on your wonderful poems. Harry and I have spoken every day for over 10 years even when he moved back to Australia, we spent a couple or three hours on Skype while we worked on our books and chatted about most things, one of his great joys was Poetrysoup and the poetry friends he made. Although they m remade their home back in Oz his heart was always in Yorkshire and me being a Yorkshire lass understood that. he is somebody we will all miss greatly, his wisdom and tenacity, and love for words will never be forgotten. His daughter-in-law keeps me informed now on his progress and as you can imagine his family are in turmoil.

If possible and if anyone wants to soup me with personal messages for Harry I will try to get them to the family to read out to him, I cannot promise they will reach him, but they will be passed on to is family. Mandy.

Dear Mandy, somehow I knew this news was coming, which breaks my heart, because I wish it wasn't so. Harry is so kind and compassionate, with such a wonderful heart. It was about 12 years ago and Harry mentioned contributing to a rock band - he was proud of that and should be...life has those victories/accomplishments---every life can find peace, especially when we can leave something behind in the midst of our journey forward...
