I say “just one bite,” I swear I do
But somehow I keep going, what can I do
Every time food comes near, I give in
And suddenly I’m full again, where do I begin?
I try to be strong I really try
But food keeps finding me, I don’t know why
My fork won’t stop, my plate is a mess
Yet somehow I munch with full happiness
I tell myself later I’ll eat less
But somehow I always make a mess
It’s a tasty trap I can’t escape
I end up laughing with crumbs on me.
My stomach protests but I ignore the signs
Each bite convinces me it’s perfectly fine
I wobble, I giggle, I reach for one more
The snack-filled adventure I can’t ignore
This pant may not fit me tomorrow
But right now, who cares about sorrow?
I’ll deal with it later, it’s all okay
I’ll worry later, I’m feasting today.
Right now, it’s snacks that lead the way,
Who needs control when dessert’s on display?
I eat like it’s always a holiday,
So I lift my hands and shout, “Hooray!”
Mmmm Mmmm delicious and yummy !
What a glorious day, I'm feeling rich !

I was bumbling
with pots and pans
see me fumbling
for something yummy
with an empty tummy
it was rumbling
took a long hard look
and now I'm mumbling
as there's not a lot to cook
but bread crusts crumbling
long past their sell-by date
it's ever-so humbling
but there's no point at all
this late in grumbling
about standing the heat
or beating a retreat
but better yet than
simply stumbling
out of the frying pan
and into the fire tumbling
Potato chip, I love you up,
my darling little buttercup.
A cup! A Reese’s chocolate one
with peanut butter. Oh, what fun!
What fun is time with nacho chips;
delightful cheese to tease my lips.
My lips around a hamburger,
with onion rings my heart to stir.
Stir the chili in the pot.
Add Tabasco; cook it hot.
Hot, that snack I love so well,
is buttered popcorn that I smell.
Smell the pasta fantasy-
sauce and parmesan for me.
Me and cheesecake, cherries atop.
Once I start, I cannot stop.
Stop for ice cream; what I wish-
a sundae sitting in a dish.
Dish me up some southern fried
with mashed potatoes on the side.
A side of bacon, crispy fat.
I see nothing wrong in that!
That’s a spicy hot tamale.
Enchiladas make me jolly.
Jolly Christmas; candies sweet,
turkey, ham; so much to eat.
Eat a pizza. It’s the best.
Now I’ve gotta take a rest.
With Medicaid I got my dentures so bright
To pursue each and every culinary delight
Now with swagger I sway
But DOGE takes them away
Guess it's yogurt for dinner again tonight

Ceviche is yummy
If fish is freshly caught
With lots of spices
Vinegar with slice cucumber
Crush ginger with slice tomatoes
Calamansi and hot peppers
Plus mix with coconut milk
And a bottle of red wine.
Bus driver frantic,
searching for two missing kids,
who did not get off the bus !
Found them on the floor,
between the last seats eating,
driver, parents now happy !
I'm here to check and see
Your availability
If you'd care to take a ride
If you have the capability
To get out for a while
If there's a possibility
We could hit a coffee shop
And on the way back simply stop
To talk and drink latte
Or sit right there at the café
Let's split a French croissant
Your company is all I want
You will love my secret recipe, she assured me.
It has goat cheese.
I kept silent.
And lots of good healthy vegetables.
I thought goat cheese sounded yucky.
Now she throws in vegetables?
I do not eat vegetables.
Politeness forces me to stay until she has mixed the concoction.
Not bad, I think.
But nothing I will ever eat again.
Too much work, and too many vegetables.
The goat cheese was tasty though.
That was a sweet surprise.
