raven's wingspan was huge
her talons grabbed me right up
I became food

Noah commissioned a wee dove as his ocean scout
It ventured out three times seeking sprigs of life
on the third try it brought back hope to mankind.
I would have chosen an albatross for the task
with its great wingspan suited for sea voyages
It could have done the deed in half the time.
Perhaps the dove was more efficient and intelligent
maybe the albatross lacked focus and discipline
been tempted by the sirens of fog and froth.
Did it feel spited in the shadow of the Genesis ship.
Who am I to question a blessed man
who built an arc and refreshened mankind.

my hazel eyes follow the eagle
largest wingspan in the world
startling me with his shadow
does he have a message
he disappears in the clouds
taking my thoughts to heaven
red geranium gives me a nod
she is joyful today
I take my hose and give her a drink
she winks at me
both wanting the best for the world
my neighbors argue
I cannot decipher all of the words
still I realize there is a problem
I send love and light their way
eagle, geranium, neighbors and me...
we are one

Wingspan spread open
hiding sun's rays
as the hawk flies high
scoping out the area
looking for his next meal

A dark blue midnight awning has its portrait,
etched by a a starlit silver lustrous galaxy,
silhouette of black lace frilled clouds,
in somber quietude adrift beneath a vibrant pearl,
amber moon whose gleaming radiance bemused awhile,
at the stark underbelly of flickering candles,
that the urban nocturne spellbound revel in perchance,
sleep pattern held captive by ethereal bliss,
angelic dreams wrapped in opal tincture,
what optic relishes await at early first light,
a colourfast dawn unveils it’s bronze bespoke banner,
heaven bound yellow flare insouciant whim,
red orange burst sky a stirring presage,
for wingspan flight of stone gray plume creature,
natural world usher whose gold throat cadence,
rouses wonderment among the persimmon trees,
tapping into human yearning for awestruck omen,
Kashmir bright velvet hue azimuth a scant gem,
yet sapphire orb twinkles close or distant lure
might embolden dull minds with ardent spark

Most times people just see them as yucky,
or other times they might just have the key
to the Butterfly Dragonfly dressed blues
East Asia, the oriental choo choo's.
Mind you that this one pulls more D less B,
it bears a light-scattering property,
affects the wing's color variances,
trends from blue to gold, most curiousness.
Although, they hold their born pigmentation
a wingspan iridescent blue-liken.
Spots on their hindwings I.D. their sexes,
patterned wings I.D. their partners, no ex's.
Diet be flyers, mosquitoes, preferred.
Mountains, and forest, but wetlands, favored.

my muse
springs awake
from slumber;
in overdrive
at the crack of dawn.
my mind's eye
wide open;
my imagination,
a bird spreading
it's elephantine wingspan,
taking dizzying flight.
poetic inspirations
are breadcrumbs
scattering
here and there.
my ink-filled pen
gracefully skates
across a blank page;
a poem was born
with a faint gust of wind.

Albatross with deft shape
Aptly walz with wingspan
Across wild oceans soars
Abstract sway and power
As stars beam with delight
Apostle verve and scop
Always burden bearer

lost in the freedom
~up there in the endless sky~
feathered giant flies
above the oceans
~his large wingspan allows him
to dance a long time
on an open stage
~the elegance takes slowly
an albatross shape

He fills me
He fills me
He fills me He fills me my life
with good things
He fills me
with His Spiirit
He fills me I don't deserve it
His grace He fills me in mercy
he died His son for Me
He fills my life with urgency, love agape
and like an eagle He's soaring above
His eyes sees always miles and miles
ahead His arms holds me
He embraces me I am His child
His mouth breathes into me
Life my youth is renewed like the eagle
He covers me with His wingspan
He fills my life with good things
He fills me
Hallelujah

The ancients honored you in their cultures
Mythology crowned Jataya, King Of Vultures
Obligate scavengers, you conduct your foray
Toward putrid carcass of what will be your prey
Dead bodies, prairie dogs, rodents, wild boars
Insatiable eclectic pallet opens many doors
Vomit, your defense, your uric acid searing
Hunched backbone, broadened wingspan so fearing
Here they soar, the vultures who seldom kill
Just scouting about for their carrion meal

Arrayed with a colorful spectrum that can camouflage
Imagine a butterfly’s life as it silently flutters in flight
Watching her solo or in a multi-pigmented entourage
Your eyes behold her until she disappears from sight
The sunlight reflected her clarity as a shooting star
Wings are so fragile that you dare not touch them
Only a handful of kaleidoscopic creatures match her
She’s brilliant as a stained-glass window or a diadem
The change from larva to butterfly happens as she hurls
A conversion was formed in secret, incredible to behold
She cannot soar until her magnificent new wings unfurl
As she seeks safe shelter from the fierce wind, so bold
Look at how the queen butterfly spreads her wingspan
For a moment, she became aware of her life expectancy
Not just a pretty face from God’s psychedelic spray can
She knows she has to mate with no concern for intimacy
This enchanting transformation gracefully embellishes the earth
An enchanting, delicate species that is admired for its confidence
An enchanted, transformed body yields shortly after giving birth
A gift that brings immense joy carries a rather sorrowful existence
