Calm down, little bird. Try not to speak.
You must have a bullet in your beak.
Just let me give this poem a tweak.
Cheer up little bird - forever fly.
Forget about the bullet that whizzed by.

Premium MemberBeauty Not on Zoom

Wild electrification whizzed through the room
It was the celebrity beauty, and not merely on zoom
She had brought her witch hat and flying straw broom
Vah vah voom, vah vah voom, vah vah voom said the room.

One more moon

A moon is moon even for a few days,
Let us thank a roaming stone’s wayward ways.
Too bad it’s too tiny
For naked eyes to see,
Wish, Cosmos has more such ways to amaze.
And yet what may delight
May perhaps prove a plight,
Nature’s ways that amaze may also daze.

Happenings |04.10.2024|Moon

Poet’s notes: A wayward asteroid (of the size of a school bus) named ‘2024PT5’ whizzed past on 29th September pulled by Earth’s gravity. Alas, this delight of having a second moon will be short-lived (for only 57 days) before it disappears in deep space.

Premium MemberAn Uneasy Feeling

Thoughts of confusion were swirling
in my head, and I desperately needed
a quiet place to be,
I headed to the seaside, where I sat,
gazing into the sea.
The calm, still body of water was
undisturbed by the gust of wind that
whizzed by,
Immersed in the silence of nothingness,
I prayed these muddled thoughts would
 fly away like a butterfly.

As I turned my head towards the sky,
I saw the dark clouds were slowly drifting
by,
Suddenly, I felt the warmth of his sweet
love draining from my heart , leaving
it empty and stone cold.
Then, an overwhelming grip of
emptiness took a painfully tight hold,
The Sun was now barely visible,
Oh, How I wish it were possible to be
invisible.

Oh, how I wished I could let go of this
woe.
I couldn’t help but wonder if I was the
last one to know.

Premium MemberLittle Miss Muffet

“Little Miss Muffet sat on a tuffet,
Eating her curds and whey,
Along came a spider who sat down beside her
And frightened Miss Muffet away.”

After a long vacation a little girl called Miss Muffet and her family
returned home at night. They realized the house needs cleaning that
they decided to do in the morning. Meanwhile, mother served Miss
Muffet bowl of curd and whey. She sat comfortably on a soft tuffet,
and as she was about to take the first spoonful of her favorite treat,
a big spider descended from the window sill where it had built a web
when the house was empty. The eight-legged creepy creature was
attracted by the scent of the snack. So, it came down and sat beside
Miss Muffet. Suddenly, a fly whizzed in from nowhere and crawled
up the bowl. The swift spider ran fast across the arm of Miss Muffet,
and pounced on its prey that disappeared within its mouth. The fast
moving scaring scenario frightened Miss Muffet, and she ran away.
Upset and hungry, she could not sleep that night.

My diaphanous wallet held the moon,
a curious sensation rose in my chest
pale at night
I stole a
massive cosmic cluster
for a tinge of ethereal light.

Secretly wears Saturn's rings
Venus continues her romance
brought me her prized assets
kissed quickly
planet Mars snuck through
discrete carrier bag,
dedicated to city redecorating.

Widespread cognizance prevailed
drape of wings and sapphire plume,
designed bespoke by the Seraphim
nimbus swirls and nebulous sky,
within the cosmic shower ring,
a sempiternal empyreal cherubic niche,
I swiftly seized it as it whizzed by.

Premium MemberSanta Needs More Zoom

After last year slow night ride~after all the millions of miles,
Santa's sled needed a check-up with smiles.
Last year his sled went way too slow,
it needed a ton of power with some more go~go.
He wants to make sure all the good girls~boys,
would get all of their many deserving toys.
His mechanic worked many hours then said~take it for a ride,
Santa whizzed through the sky then came back and cried.
His sled now had power with plenty of Zoom,
coming out the back of this sled was a huge fiery plume.
Santa had his jolly big laugh,
a million thanks to you and to your staff.

Premium MemberVanilla

Ice, ice, baby
You pour me over maybe
A straw to pierce the depths
Inhale the deepest breaths

A fancy glass all fluted
In milky joy I'm rooted
A scoop of whizzed banana
Tastes of pure Americana

The decor is all flashy
Just white and red, not trashy
All dressed up in your nifties
Time travel to the fifties

For teens on scooters suited
All sweetness undiluted
A jukebox in the corner
Soothes away all worldy trauma

Drop a dime to stick a tune on
Whirrs and clicks to drop the best song
Grab yourself a Coca-Cola
Dance in lights from the Rock-Ola

Gals all twirls and frilly knickers
Dudes in shiny winkle pickers
There's an innocence and beauty
As they jive to Tutti Frutti

How we'd love to travel back there
Leaving every burden and care
Just an evening sure to thrill ya
Taste of ice-cold pure vanilla

Premium MemberSpirits of a San Francicso Dream

Their smiles , citizens, unafraid to so do.
Is what brought me back to San Francisco.
I’d get inane ideas , that Chicago was better.
But once back there,I loathed the weather.

Being a Chicagoan, born, I had many warm ties.
But my heart beat only, for San Francisco skies.
I longed to hear the magical cable cars ring.
It seemed my suitcase, in the closet, to that tune , would only sing.

One New Year’s Eve in the midst of an icy snowstorm ,
At a party, I announced. I was moving
back west, to where I belonged!
My dream was met with angst and derision.
The more people said, “No”, they really
cemented my decision.

The decades like a zephyr train , simply
whizzed by.
And I have lived here and met incredible
people under California skies.
Sunny skies, those western, smiles, are a
year round event.
And as my grateful days, come to close,
I pray to heaven, I will be sent!

Premium MemberUniverse

She made a wish on a falling star
As it blazed by in a fiery streak
It was quite a sight to see
As Luna was reaching its peak

She stood there, just a speck, in a vast universe
Gazing at those twinkles on high
 So many wonders to contemplate
and in her awe she let out a sigh

So many thoughts whirled through her mind
As her curiousity began to grow
 Another falling star whizzed by
And left the sky all aglow

Premium MemberTrain Ride

Clickity clack, clickity clack
the sound keeps coming back
I remember the ride,
had time to bide,
	as the train clattered along.

We swished and swirled further beyond
the burbling golden pond
than I had ever been,
affirmed my grin,
as the train whizzed gaily along.

I remember the zip and zap,
then the sharp, sudden snap,
my head against the seat
and the fierce heat
as the train swiftly zoomed along.

I remember the sudden smash,
the sound of booming crash,
dreadful growling rail wheels,
turned on their heels
as the train shrieked and screeched along!

Premium MemberDivine Intervention

I recall a scary time
when I brushed shoulders with death.
A blustery winter wind
seeded snow with freezing rain.

I got stuck on the highway
in whiteout conditions.
And the road was one big mess,
traffic was moving too fast.

Hitting a patch of black ice,
I’m spinning out of control.
And I’m right in the path of
an on-coming tanker truck.

The driver’s frightened face was
visibly white with panic.
Letting the steering wheel go,
I was prepared to meet death.

A calmness came over me,
there was no panic or fear.
For I knew it’d be over
in a mere millisecond.

Then something miraculous
occurred, and my life was changed.
Through Divine intervention,
my car got nudged to the side.

And then that tanker whizzed by
with only inches to spare.
I then believed and thanked God,
for my guardian angel.

Premium MemberFunny Santa

Funny Santa had a comedy act
He did it in midair, holding onto his sack.
The toys spilled around in the sky sometimes.
He did not care. He was practicing his lines.

People were amazed at his comedy act.
They discussed a present for him and made a pact.
They brought him a whoopee cushion, made by me.
He whizzed through the air and landed on three.

He is hilarious the easily entertained reindeer said.
If you think that's something, you should see him in bed.
They turned to Mrs. Claus, and began to titter.
She inspired them to laughter, chatter and chitter.

Premium MemberA New Word Whizzed By - Nonsense Contest

A new word whizzed by
  just under me nose
It tickled me moustache-hairs
  and teased me toes

Amused and amazed
  I sputtered alive
but that whizzy new word
  bzzzz'ed back to its hive

So I took out me air-horn
which gave me a shiver ~
Put me moustache-hairs
and me toes back in me quiver

Premium MemberRainbow Riches

If you saw a rainbow and you clambered up one side
And then whizzed down the other like it was a massive slide
I have to say it all sounds like a lot of fun to me
But when you got back down again, I wonder where you'd be

I thought that I would find out, and so I gave it a try
The top of that there curve was really high up in the sky
But when I slid back down again, the breeze was really cold
I smacked my toe against a pot: that pot was painted gold

I have to say I had no use for some old painted pot
Or those old coins all painted gold of which there were a lot
I climbed back up that rainbow even though my toe was bent
Then hurtled down to find my landlord waiting for his rent

I told him I was broke until my motor car was sold
He said but that’s a rainbow... did you find no crock of gold
But then the rainbow faded and my guts were in a knot
And I was so dumbfounded, all that I could say was, ‘What?’
