Premium Member Calm Down Little Bird
Calm down, little bird. Try not to speak.
You must have a bullet in your beak.
Just let me give this poem a tweak.
Cheer up little bird - forever fly.
Forget about the bullet that whizzed by....

Premium Member Beauty Not on Zoom
Wild electrification whizzed through the room
It was the celebrity beauty, and not merely on zoom
She had brought her witch hat and flying straw broom
Vah vah voom, vah vah voom, vah vah voom said the room....

His Religion
By Angeline Vine

Every night he went
into Mrs. Foosebah's bathroom
and whizzed all over her seat

He confessed this
to a guy named Sal who
was sitting at the snack bar
at the bowling alley

so he felt as if
he had
some form of religion
due to his confession

When someone asked . . .
he said he was Catholic...

Beery Biker
After one too many beers
in the wee hours of the night,
I whizzed around town on my
motorbike, feeling light.

I zoomed into dim sidestreets
and who or what did I meet?
Deep potholes, like drunk hobos,
recklessly crossing the street!

But nastier than potholes,
the pavement was a different case.
It leaped and stood bolt upright
and slammed hard against my face !!...

Premium Member Battle's Glory
O'er valley and dale
  flashed lightning and hail
Brass buttons, glimpses of steel

Soon bullets whizzed by
  cringing lads' shell-shocked eyes
Severed heads seen to spin and reel

Peach-fuzzed cheeks without beard
  a frantic youth's cry seared
skies the color of blood congealed

Sharp pains split his chest
as he sobbed up the rest
of a life lost to fortune's wheel...

Unto the Past
The creeping silence screams inside the room,
caught between the fading light and the gloom;
alone I grapple with thoughts of a distant past,
days of youth that whizzed by and did not last.

Sick of the dark shadows keeping me company
while my mind drifts back to places so far away,
I dream of my lost boyhood's bittersweet refrain
just when intrudes the gentle whisper of the rain....

Premium Member Nature Beckons
Ocean waves murmured in his ear
   Tales of adventure and buccaneers
Wind whispered softly through a tree
Free yourself; come play with me

Sun's bright rays pierced his heart
I'll light the path to your sweetheart
Cirrus clouds' wisps and curls whizzed on by
   Beckoning him follow Heaven's sigh

Nature beckons, extending invitations
We ponder her writing, her adjurations...

Premium Member A New Word Whizzed By - Nonsense Contest
A new word whizzed by
  just under me nose
It tickled me moustache-hairs
  and teased me toes

Amused and amazed
  I sputtered alive
but that whizzy new word
  bzzzz'ed back to its hive

So I took out me air-horn
which gave me a shiver ~
Put me moustache-hairs
and me toes back in me quiver

Just where have the weeks gone
Another year has whizzed past
No New Years resolution, I'd only break it
Unless it’s to meet George Clooney
Ah fiddlesticks he’s married now!
Romance is off the cards
Yeah, but a girl can dream!

NB I have never made a New Year's Resolution, this is just a standing joke with my husband
