Living creatures
Speak to me.
"I do not want to die."
Yet, I bestow death upon you.
Standing at the edge of death,
Still, you gesture to me.
I grant you the right
To draw a small breath.
In the end, my own life longs for the very same thing!
To my thirst, in the dark valley,
Grant me even a pool of stagnant water from a shallow well!
Just by hearing the bird's song
Before the dawn breaks,
For a fleeting moment, I can hear the sound
Of the stream flowing down!
Is it well with my soul?
when my heart has a gaping hole?
It is well with my soul,
because I am not alone and am whole
whole in my faith, God is by my side
He has held me close for grief's lifelong ride
He has shown me how in him to abide
and because of that I CAN say
It is well with my soul
Boasted my 'new friend,' “A life well-lived is mine
In the capitals of Europe I've sampled vintage wine
Hob-nobbed with the jet-set in Vegas and the Hills
Always a celebrity there to pick up the bills”
“Changed wives a few times, I’m proud to admit
They seem to tire of the night life and my endless wit
As for children, I guess I wasn’t one for diapers or tears
Ha ,ha. Successfully avoided my biggest fear"
I listened to my friend’s account with growing dismay
How can man his (precious) life throw away?
TO BEING IN THE WELL OF THE WORD
(Apropos Of Poets Of The World)
My time is waning,
May yours continue to wax—
Those waiting need you:-
Keep pending the word;
Waiting minds need your guidance—
Let your wisdom flow:-
You have been chosen;
Do not fear the blessed choice—
Just echo the word:-
The vibe is given;
Let it flow every day—
Your cistern pouring:-
Yours is a full well;
Keep rolling up its waters—
Splashing waiting minds:-
How speedy yet sweet the swift
how slow and sleepy the sloth
how creepy crawly the caterpillar
metamorphosing into a moth
how flutters by the butterfly
how groaning grumbly the grouse
how caterwauly the cat
wailing at night outside the house
how snips when shears the snipe
how doggedly dogs the dog
how hops skips and jumps
the tadpole now a frog
how kicks and bucks the mule
shucks how dodges the duck
that's the lot it's all I've got
there's no more so you're in luck
A soul that's hungry and never well-fed,
is always searching for something much greater,
a great love whose meaning is ne'er misread,
or destiny whose time arrives much later.
In God and thee I find a hopeful fate,
a future that restores a quiet grace,
and moments in time's endless, flowing state;
where I embrace your beauty's radiant face.
But if the heavens and the stars above,
and all the world were drowned in seas of gloom,
my lines still live forever in thee, my love,
beyond end of days, beyond even doom!
If love transcends all seasons and all times,
then your spring lives on in all of my rhymes.
I'm a wella for you,
beloved.
i sabi you're thirsty.
i am aware. Wella,
a spring waters for you.
i am a fountain for wella for you com, make me be a wella for you.
you de always thirsty, beloved. I find you water
as long as i'm alive.
i am a wella for refreshment.
a wella a system for you?
i am a fountain.
i am ya wella, com drink ya water. Mai love
I'm a well for you,
beloved.
I know you're thirsty.
I am aware. Well,
a spring waters for you.
I am a fountain of well for you Come, let me be a well for you.
You are always thirsty, beloved. I give you water
As long as I'm alive.
I am a well of refreshment.
A well a system for you?
I am your fountain.
I am your well, come drink your water. My love.

Written words by James Edward Lee Sr 2026
Wishing wells don’t provide.
They just flush out anything.
Buckets of algae that we call good luck.
I’ve never enjoyed a thing a day in my life.
Cracked ribs that might as well be mine.
I have anxiety that’s so severe, it’s like sunken ships.
Moaning ships, getting shipwrecked.
Wishing wells don’t provide.
Wishes are burdens as much as my nervous system.
I want to tear my nerves out.
Feels like…
Butterflies that can’t land right.
I enjoy this life like algae.
It’s colorful but still slimy.
A while ago you all might recall, I requested
Justice from the Lord.? No faith in lawfare I
Asked He take away the parasites, that destroyed
Much faith, I hear now that many are
deceased.' Of those who hung with epstein
And on innocence did feast.' I'll recall here a saying
I learned it when young..God settles debts without
Money, always remember that my son.)
Pen pressed against page,
image drought, verse famine, cage,
of dry well syndrome, vacuum,
lack of glowing term,
blighted crop, devoid of germ,
words I sculpt mere gaunt legume
Impetus, spark, boost,
urban mirror where plots roost,
spawn from pillar, striking plinth,
futile quest struck dumb,
barren bard whose face is glum,
yet they bay for gemstone glint
they were outside the whole day, my daughter and Glow
Glow is her dog who delighted in romping around in the snow
My daughter made two snowmen in spite of the dog’s antics
Tomorrow it is going to be sixty-seven, so she will be frantic
Because snow people do not fare well
When a day is sunny as a Christmas bell
they will be a pile of water in a few hours, I knew
But today they had a blast in the snow, these two
The older I get the more I realize that health will always be my most valuable asset.

When we kill, hurt, and wound, with our words you see,
then also by the words of others, affected we will be.
To stop the fiery darts, them we should not throw,
whatsoever we give out, inside us begins to grow.
How can we play with a hornets nest, and not expect to get stung,
how can we not be affected, by the words of our own tongue.
How can we find peace, when we’re so willing to put up a fight,
how can we not get bitten, when we’re so eager to bite.
When we walk willingly, with the bitterness you see,
one against another, is how it will always be.
Destroying one another, and casting our shadows of death,
instead of giving life, we take each other’s breath.
Living in this way, to us all, brings death, inwardly,
if we can help each other die so well, then why not to live, you see.
Hopeless pull
like water fall
she walks with silk and breaths airs milk
I fell for her as words fell over
her mind like knives and quick like spoken
words less said shes here she's wed
I fell for her as words fell over
Her body pulsed
I fell all spoken.
(“Zero Point of Creation”, 2018, original encaustic)
There in the moment
Caught up without a thought
Captured by the sunlight,
A gust of wind, the perfume of roses
The soothing feel of water
Flowing through a garden hose
What was that
Timeless, mindless
Respite?
The gap between all moments of time
The little oblivion
That connects it all.
