Welcome Mat

forget the welcome mat ; we're
all meat so they say
so if you've teeth come on in
forgive the soul some say
forgive the god some pray
forget the welcome mat ; we're
all done and no one's in
so if you've come from afar
you have a longer journey to go
before you see me once again
forgive my friends
forgive my sins
forgive my brain
forgive my skin
going back inside
going back inside
going back inside the cave that
holds my brain ~ to clean
the welcome mat

Cold Weather Welcome Mat Haiku

jack frost gives me life
a saint bernard jumps and plays
good riddance, summer

The Rejection and the Welcome Mat

she sends me an invitation to her 'no' club
i reply by praying for the salvation of her whole
a hole of New Senses is what i am digging for these days
i send her an invitation to my 'friendship unconditional' community
i include a link to an ebony welcome mat 'With Love and Sincerity'
maybe one day God will provide a door for a chance meeting once again
the knocker and the answerer....on He Knows For Sure....
the only thing i can do from there is simply move on and softly anticipate while progressing
personal choice is not a makeshift stop sign....it is actually Divinely Provided Green Light

A Special Welcome Mat For Happiness

so easy to be happy right now
worked really hard to get here
remember the smell of stale sweat on the tattered backseat pillowcase
the moon was as blue as i was
the sun was weighed down with icicles
so refreshing to smile right now
struggles like mad to set up the stage for its return
remember the tick crawling amongst the hairs of my genital area
images of the devil himself toying with my emotions and self control
the rain was merciless
the sun had no conscience
such a relief to afford affordability today
wonderful to know God does not judge....

Premium Member The Welcome Mat In Front of Our Home

This family fears God above.
Within these walls, there will always be love.
The door will constantly be open to the good.
I want that to be unequivocally understood.
If you are good, you will always be welcome.
We don't care where you are going, or where you are from.
See the welcome mat in front of our home?
While it is there, you will never have to roam.

Welcome Mat

Welcome Mat…. by: Steven Hudson

Hands tremble at the grip in my hand,
Two worlds collide in moments of time,
The trigger shakes, while onlookers scorn
What once was peace, now a violent storm

Away ye dogs of thunder come to plunder my house!
Who come to grant me the title of fatherless son
You knocked on our door looking for trouble
But when trouble rose to greet you, you froze like a mouse.

I did not seek you out, you forced a delinquents hand
It was only justice, to protect that which I love
The pulse that quickens, the fear that sickens
The weight of words preceding a heavy handed blow

What was meant to destroy me
Only proved to employ me
For in the face of my enemy the only choice remains
To stand strong, stand fast, that my losses, may become gains.

Premium Member The Un-Welcome Mat

I
Do not
Want to hear
Your sales pitches.
I need no brushes.
I do not eat cookies.
I donated blood last week.
I have a good vacuum cleaner.
I have no time to read magazines.
Please do not tell me your religion.
Do I look like I wear makeup?
I have an alarm system.
You do not need my vote.
I just cut the grass.
I do not smoke.
So you can
Just get
Lost.

This is a double nonet

Brand New Welcome Mat

the moon lingers

hanging desperately in the sky

dreading daylight

it luminates the sky

casting shadows

creating dark alleys

and forgotten heartache

Daylight grimaces on the horizon

playfully gracing the sky.

the darkness fades

a portrait of wildflowers welcomes the light

pathways to the soul refreshed.

doorway renewed

a fresh new welcome mat placed on my heart:)

My Chest Is Your Welcome Mat

Lost Love is always welcome here
Behind blue eyes
And in these tears

Inside my hollow hopeless heart
Between black lungs
And broken parts

Upon my calloused finger tips
That touched the skin
I've come to miss
