Flesh

*Flesh* by Blossom Monyei
Is it our fault as human beings?
We were given flesh.
Obeying its commands.
We drown in the consequences of our sins.

Even as we strive to pay no heed to our flesh.
We're pulled for it to be satisfied,
Pressured by our peers to enjoy.
We compromise and satisfy our hungry flesh.

Flesh of bottles,
Flesh of greediness,
Flesh of lust,
Flesh of worldliness.

Trials and temptations we can't skip,
It's like walking through a hallway filled with devilish hypnosis,
Pulling, pulling to satisfy our hungry flesh,
How'd we walk without being hypnotized?

Take away this flesh,
It weakens our faith,
We aren't strong enough.
So everytime we fall.

nude

from top to bottom, like a
root,
she stretched across the entire
canvas,

eyes, petals, closed
                  ~ arms ~ melting ~ beewax ~ liquid ~ imitating
water ~

                              outside the
frame, you could see
her stretched legs
                              white,
                                        snowflakes
her flawless body ~ it
                                         seemed to expand
right
       before your eyes, like
                                       a deerskin stretched
on a wooden log wall,
in a hunting lodge,
and
to keep from falling, she was clinging, here and
there, to a few nails, as if she
was a spider that underscored the
 importance of
roots,

*(and, what if this power weakens, even when you are on a canvas?
and what was held together can fall apart like a silk veil blown by the wind.)

Premium MemberA Good Sense Of Humour Blunts The Sharp Blades

A good sense of humour blunts the sharp blades
Lifting a heavy heart, making our burden fades
Permanent or temporary, it’s facial muscles' relaxant aid
Bringing joy and laughter, keep it as a precious jade!

Humour is anti-stress, a powerful medicine in life
A priceless cream to cure our cuts from trial’s knife
When some difficult circumstances come rife
Exchange humour with someone to cope, forget any strife.

Humour only interferes… alleviating boredoms
Strengthens neurons, gives us brilliance and wisdom
As facial muscles stretch from smiles, we can overcome
Some problems pass while sense of humour is our chum.

When our sense of humor weakens or runs-out
Ask AI’s help, watch reels, takes things light, don’t pout
Our own facial expressions can even make some humors sprout
To keep the world laughing, always be ready like a scout!

You anchor your rancor, a cancerous canker,
Not just any mole
Your hatred you hide it, you split and divide it,
It's soured your soul

The women, you bait them, you date and berate them,
You're no kind of man
You're just out for the kill and you spill out your swill,
Like nobody can

Their hearts beating faster, they race towards disaster,
Watch out for that curve
The dark he is seeking, it weakens their beacons,
But strengthens his nerve

They know they're in trouble, his efforts now double,
Not just a bad dream
Unable to match him, they kick and they scratch him,
And let out a scream

He's vain, so he's flattered, they're raped and they're battered
And left there to bleed
In his warped little brain, all their terror and pain,
Will then fill his need

Through hell and high waters, must teach all our daughters,
To stand up and fight
It's horrific but true, it could happen to you,
And happen tonight

Voices in the Void

Without my pen, the pain becomes my voice.
The cruelty of others, the hardness of their hearts,
Linger in this place of cult,
Where public shaming is currency.

I scream for help, face to face,
Yet they cast me deeper into despair.
Tears bleed red, patience drains,
My heart trembles, a silent echo in the vast universe.

My eyes never dry, my body weakens,
Heart torn apart, full of anguish,
Yet no one feels the depth within;
They mistrust the plea for help.

This is my story, my life—
Manipulated by whispers,
By cults hiding in plain sight.
Insecurity among them breeds cruelty.

They lurk at corners, ready to strike.
I called for help. He laughed: "You're funny."
How can real danger ever sound like a joke?
This is the world's cruel reality:

Where chasing money and shifting blame
Leave no space for help.
And still—I believe, somewhere, somehow,
kindness awaits—
like a single candle glimmering
in the heart of the void.

The Lake

The Lake.....

lies… still,
a glistening sheet of tin foil,
shimmering in a cold-eyed wind.

At night
the lake still... lies… still;
a coffin with lid screwed light-tight.

On occasion, the moon trickles light,
lightly across the lake's pitch-black back;
the knack of making the coffin lid crack!

Today, I challenge myself
to touch-dive the lake’s chilling depths,
halfway down I halt, a dark vault,
weakens my errant confidence.
Despite puppet legs and handcuffed arms
I spin frantically to reach a detached surface,
bursting out like some skittish, Scottish salmon
only to be held between the two supremos;
illuminated sky and darksome water.

Tonight, the lake grips my bedroom window
and I watch as watery, inky tentacles
claw and talon at an unsettled shoreline.

Later, I wait for sleep to possess me,
sensing surrounding hills clinging closely
while rain falls like pellets of iron.

So I drift…listening to the lake
whispering dangerous, whispering treacherous secrets
until nature’s seesaw; night tilts into daylight.

Driving

I love this road.
Every little mound, and every crevasse,
Flower filled, to the brim.
The moths and mosquitos caught in my headlamps.
Trees of aspen and oak keeping me on track.
And here, the night clouds are much darker than the night sky.
And jets zoom 50 metres above my head, asking,
"What are you here for?"
In which I respond, "I'm taking in the sights."
"This road is beautiful."
"I wonder where it ends."
"Does it really have to end?"

And as for the rest,
Every single time, at every single jet,
I'm shaking, trembling, I'm speeding at each bump.
Pot-holes ruin my suspension.
My engine weakens (believably gently) at the thought.
My brake pads and wheels through the wearing of my rubber--
They're guiding me slowly out of this car.
And here, glowing brighter than the moon, I ask them,
"Why are you so weak?"
In which they respond, "I'm just burning bright."
"This road is beautiful."
"I'm wondering when does it end."
"And, will it end before me?"

Tailwinds

Life’s walls remain as high as the clouds
 Covered by shrouds of thunderclouds
Looking up I awe in vast wonder
Mental impasse envelopes by the hour
     Hour after hour
      I grow more dour
I knit a suit of doubt
I only see myself with rout
         Still on the battlefield
          Inside I aimlessly yield
           A crack appears
            The wall has fears
             A fraction of a win
              I sneak a grin
               I smack at the crack
                I laugh as I thwack
                 Time is my weapon
                  Grit is my gun
                   The hole widens
                     The bleakness weakens
                      The wall can time-worn
                       And I can become reborn
                        Time is my tailwind

It wasn't a stroke

I thought this life could get no worse,
But life's new chapter contains a verse,
Brought together a certain way,
A poem is born what will it say,
Life's a story going on and on,
Those tragic moments I thought were gone,
Without pre warning there was no sign,
Apart from this I was feeling fine,
Of all the body it chose this place,
The whole left side of my ageing face,
You think the worst! it is a stroke,
Typical diagnosis from a bloke,
There is a condition I did not know,
It's not a stroke your off deaths row,
It's called Bells palsy it can be caused by stress,
Weakens facial muscles your looking a mess,
So what comes next in my life of gloom,
A suspect package "what's this inside?"
                  BOOOOMMM!!!!!!!

Just Right

Remember sometimes in life,
There will be things we can't control,
Try to not let that consume you,
Or eat away at your soul.

Self torturing our confidence and mind,
Should really be some kind of crime,
As worrying weakens our ambitions,
While over-thinking steals our time.

Yet trying not to fret or fear,
About what's ahead of you,
Can be so easy for anyone to say,
But sometimes a battle to actually do.

Don't let them anxious thoughts,
Stress and keep you up at night,
As what will be, will be,
It will all turn out, just right.

Premium MemberShy Heart

Being in constant isolation/
The heart weakens without contact/
My heart used to/
Have a way with words/
To slowly weaken/
Only to stumble and fall/
My heart has things to say/
But I am unable to/
Let alone the fear of rejection/
Or some idiot calling the police/
Can you read/
What my eyes implore to you/
My heart is trying to speak/
Through my eyes/
To engrave what my heart/
Has to say without words/
I feel the drums beating/
Heart thumping so hard/
My shy heart is unable/
To express my inner heart/
Show my shy heart/
How to react like a normal one/

Dangerous gift

Leaving me in a ocean of deceit Entrusting me with mistakes I'd repeat Shattering a heart that once felt complete An unending war that ensures defeat.

An enchanting wilderness that weakens your sight A beautiful angel that can never be seen in white Like a black hole, it sucks in all the light Right after you believe you have got something worth the fight.

It can also be,

A source of eternal peace when you choose right With a bed of roses laid every night The mysterious secret behind your smile Your shield and strength against every fight.

A problem you don't have to solve Granting you with pleasure that can never be enough In one word all you need and want That dangerous gift we call love.

The Light in His Eyes

When I see him,
I feel weightless, floating—
His smile, his laughter,
A wonder so bright,
It brings endless joy to my heart.

I’m left breathless
Every time he’s near.
I love all of him—
Everything he offers,
And even if he gave nothing,
Still, I would love him the same.
He holds the happiness I seek.

He acts tough,
But I know,
Behind the walls he’s built,
Something great waits to be seen.

Every time he smiles,
His eyes glow—
They shine like stars,
And I am left speechless
By their light.

His voice alone weakens me.
Words fall short
To express how I feel—
He ignites the fire within.

It’s like I’m drowning
In emotions I can’t understand,
Yet somehow,
They make me feel
I could conquer the world.

I could write endlessly
Of what he means to me,
But the pages would fill,
Overflowing—
Still, it wouldn’t be enough
To capture it all.

A cheer is near

Tho' noone is there to care,
Even when there're lots of scares,
When noone brings love to share,
Don't give up, a cheer is near.
Tho' trouble may range very hot,
Hopes of winning may be short,
The pains of time weakens the shouts,
That's when God really heals hurts.
