In twilight’s hush, where dreams commence,
I wandered lost in limerence.
A glance, a spark, a breathless flame,
Yet never once he spoke my name
Love lived in ache, not permanence.
Who am I to wake a beast
Dressed up in stark reality?
For all the signs I could not read
And all the signs I did not see,
Love left within a vacancy.
Who am I to stir the storm beneath
A fragile mask, a velvet sheath?
I danced with ghosts in memory,
Chased echoes in the elegy.
Love, once a fire, now absentee
A whisper lost to vacancy.

i am a house with the doors left open
for too long.
too many footsteps have walked in
dragging their storms with them.
i do not know how to tell them
i have no space left
to shelter their rain.
i try to listen, to nod, to stay—
but the ceiling is cracking.
i can’t hold up another storm.
so maybe this time,
i will lock the door.
i will sit in the quiet
and hold my own hand first.

Like the Sun, in its brightness
and thoughts that equals it shine,
goes boldly about.
Ventures without fear to be another Shakespeare
with another sonnet, or a hundred.
Take a drive and see Aurora
rise, like Maya Angelou
on a road,
and get lost in Robert Frost.
The Sun, in its brightness,
seems to soar solely in the sky.
The moon shares the sky with the stars in darkness.
Brightness and darkness
appears to be their illegitimate children
Brightness, darkness, shadow: a poet shines.

My lips the vacancy sign,
my heart the hotel
You ran up room service again.
left burn marks on the mattress.
Rude to the staff
Yet you seem to always be welcomed back
With my lips flashing like a neon vacancy need for your love

Internally, I am at peace
Making the most of those
Idle moments
Simply siphoning every last
Second of sanity
Yet there is the yearning
Opening the dusty heart has risks
Undeniable, soulful yearning

When I was down and had no love
there was a sign on my heart's door
it simply read, "unoccupied"
but it's not hanging there anymore.
The reason is that I found someone
who gave true love to me
she then placed a new sign on my heart
which reads, "no vacancy."
Well since then others have tried to come in
but I politely turn them away
because my new love is the queen of my heart
and she says that shes here to stay.
Since she has entered into my life
things have not been the same
and under her sign, "no vacancy"
she has boldly etched her name.
She has put a new bounce into my step
she has put a sparkle into my eye
thus I prevent all others from coming in
no matter how hard they try.
My sweetheart gives me all that I need
she is everything that I ever wished for
so do not come knocking if you can read
for there's a sign on my heart's door.
Please make sure you see this sign
before you come flirting with me
it was firmly put there by the true love of mine
and it reads, "no vacancy."

pain
knocked
at the door
last night...
love answered,
invited it in,
fed it hope,
clothed it with faith,
and showed it the back

A Vast Vacancy Of Tearful Moaning Cries
I had always thought to find death in the dead
after seeing lives lost, found I other clues.
Joys of life showed me other answers instead
even if amplified by sad nightly blues.
When glowing red-sun, treads on its daily path
graced by marbled clouds in high summer skies.
Fears of death lost its sting, void of darkness's wrath
and vast vacancy of tearful moaning cries.
Wherein such deeper knowledge gave sweet new cause
I found myself dancing in glittering light.
Seeker journeying far and fast without pause
racing through long brutal maze of darkest fright.
Stand I, beds of flowers, eating bright sunshine
Upon enlightenment my soul does now dine.

Now is the boredom of winter.
Each day is a lost city;
The lost city of wood is still.
The cold is a chisel,
Cutting deep in the wood;
There is a message in the long grain,
A message for saints.
Tomorrow may be a long day,
A day of plenty
A day of smiles.
Yet winter rides on--
It goes in a white envelope.
The rain has become ice.
The wind is keen--
It keeps time with the boughs.
The trees have tongues--
Even now.
But no sound comes out.
Only silence,
A silence walking on padded feet.
There is no white ghost there,
Only an apparition,
An impostor.
Where have all the birds gone?
The trees are empty.
The limbs are vacant.

Scattered shelters
Sometimes shine
Into the sadness
Of what is mine,
That gentle touch
Gives some relief,
Just swept along
A phantom beach,
As waves roll in
I feel the breeze
Replace my thoughts
With swaying ease.
At last returned
Into my vacancy.

Lying in my bed, it was only after
Every sound had finished
That I realized the woman was pregnant.
These are hard times for everyone.
What am I suppose to do?
Kick my own mother-in-law out?
It was dark, her breathing was labored, yes.
I figured from travel.
They seem fine now, though.
I can see them in Elijah's
Manger a hundred yards out.
That dirty little hay hole.
I pray they make it through the night.

~ within the dwellings of the night
through darkness lies a dim light~
lost souls wander earth and space in between us
searching eternity for a reminance of a shattered past
not forgotten nor seen ~
something lost
longing for a second chance

My Ex Husband:-
Lied to me
Was often drunk and violent
Belittled me
Spent all my money
Ran off with my best friend ...
HE’S FIRED!
Position is now vacant
the new applicant needs to be:-
Honest
Teetotal and gentle as a lamb
Stand by me through thick and thin and not put me down
Solvent enough to buy me the odd bunch of flowers or an orchid
Loyal – (the only real friends I have left are male!)
If you think you can fill this position ...
YOU’RE HIRED!

I came in yesterday, and
Unpacked my things in the room.
But, I couldn't shake the feeling:
This place will be my tomb.
It's rundown, tattered,
But maybe sort of cozy.
Mind if I look around?
(I'm feeling kind of nosy)
Come to think of it,
I'll probably stay a while.
I'm shocked at how
Quickly it makes me smile
To be with you, here,
In your torn, broken heart.
At this point I
Couldn't bear to be apart.
So let me rent the room
That's vacant in your soul.
I'll pay you in my love.
I'll never be late, because I'll pay you in my love.
