Premium Member The Great Flood - My Two Cents Worth

God brought a flood to destroy the world
‘coz mankind had corrupted his way upon the earth

Afterward, God vowed never to destroy it by water again
since man was corrupt from the day of his birth

Seems the Lord had his cake there, and ate it too
and that’s my take, for what it’s worth

Premium Member Two Cents Worth

Lest I be guilty of grossest negligence
I feel like I must put in my own two cents
As I watch and evaluate strong evidence
We owe a debt of gratitude to Mike Pence.

I know, I know, he’s not even a Democrat
But on Jan 6th he knew where he was at
He stuck by the Constitution and all that,
As I see it, it takes courage to stand pat.

If Pence had listened to Donald J. Trump
Asked how high and been ready to jump
On our democracy, he’d’ve taken a dump
We’d’ve never recovered from the lump.

I’m pleased to know some have principle
Not willing to turn their back on sensible
And will defy their unscrupulous principal
I want more cut from a Mike Pence stencil.

Bravo to a politician I thought was a toady,
Wasn’t an a**-kissing Donald Trump roadie.

All About Answers
When I ask the right question to the wrong person
I’m usually answered with a stare.

Take Note
The longer your question, the shorter my answer becomes.

Correct Answers
I believe all my answers to be correct,
but many of the questions I take out of context.

Problems
The preponderance of a problem
has a psychological influence over my solution.

Defeat
The problem that I allow to defeat me today,
Will continue to stand before me tomorrow.

I accept not defeat, and rarely take prisoners.

At times our reaction is less desirable,
than the action that gave it birth.

Opinions
Your two cents worth may have great value to some
but to me it’s worth exactly two cents.

For the man whose mistakes are foreign
I give the right to criticize me.

We never take criticism, It’s always freely given

Birth gives you life,
environment determines its quality.

Prayer Works

Dear Speaker Ryan

I want to tell you something
?The dead don’t want your prayers
?The dead don’t care
 that you pray for them?
They are dead after all

And you and your so-called Christians
?Are to blame?
You refuse to do anything
?Anything at all
 to stop the carnage
?In our streets

The U.S. is flooded with guns
?And more are sold every day

Millions of people don’t have health coverage
?Millions are barely surviving
?And your answer?
Our dear great compassionate Speaker

Your answer?
Is Prayer works
?Government action does not
You act as if the gun violence
?Plaguing our country
?Was like the weather
?Beyond our control

Here’s my prayer for you?
And your colleagues
When you die?
I pray that God?
Will send you

And your friends
?Straight to hell
Where Satan
and his demons?
Will use you for target practice
That’s my prayer to you?
And as you know?
Prayer works

note: this may be too political and in your face but I don't care. I have had enough of this nonsense. We must stop the carnage in our streets! That’s my two cents worth and I am sticking to my guns pun very much intended.

Stupid Fool

Stupid fool look at yourself what has your knowledge gained!
No forward motion or healthy growth,
Just some poor intellect pouring out of a grumpy man.
What perseverance do you follow upon your stagnated road?
Or do you push from opposite sides until your viewpoints lost!
Your grimness stirs my sanity and boils my blood in clumps,
I cannot take one look at you and please my mind with peace.
Just for once would you stop and listen, to another’s way of thinking,
And leave your rigidity at the door because I am tired of your two cents worth.
This intransigence you cloak your words with, pierce every soul you meet,
You bleed the life out of every thought and every encountered dialogue.
The utter pigheadedness of your verbal contributions,
Bring nothing but stalemate,
And one day soon or perhaps it won’t, be the death of your legacy!

You who have just now graduated
with advice have been duly saturated
Nevertheless, here's my two cents worth
for how to survive on this Earth...

Give and give more; you'll get back and receive
and since I'm a nobody who you may not believe
Just look at Mr. Warren Buffet and Mr. Bill Gates
who gave away billions --- look at their estates...

What you put into life is what you'll take out
Go all in each and every day; that's the best way
And if you ever get down, then find a cause bigger than you
Then devote yourself to it; that's what you do...

Because when it's all over and the dance is done
If you've given life your all, you'll feel that you've won

Premium Member A Gift For Thee Hater

For your penny's worth of thought,
Please take two cents worth back.
For the destruction that you brought
With all that empathy you lack,
For your narrow vision tunnel
That's dug deeper than your tact,
We gift to thee a shovel
So your barbs you may retract.

Premium Member Criticism

The reason we never take criticism,
Is because it's always freely given;
And if you can't accept it, let pass,
The opportunity to criticize another;
For while your two cents worth
Might have great value to some,
The one for whom it's directed
Might appraise your opinion
At exactly two cents.

Quid Pro Quo

Dream On-2

Dream on

Be it white rabbit holes of wonderlands
Or black holes of never-here flounder lands ,
Dreaming on and on
Vaunted webs they spawn
In this ‘ uni-verse’ that ever expands*.

Expanding like vapor, fluff and free verse
In eccentric quest, new frontiers traverse
Dreamlands roaming
Ideas beaming
Procreating, creating things diverse.

Diverse, like what is extant, are all stuff
From the nutsy-feverish heads of buffs
Their ways are damn strange
Their worlds like deranged
Salt of earth, they are, above all rebuff.

Kneading up, weeding and leading the earth
Right , left or centre , ever, two cents worth
Although they grandstand
And get praised or panned
Of their wisdom, world should not be in dearth.

*Science tells that the universe keeps on expanding by itself.
Black hole is a region in space- time whose gravity field is too strong for anything including light to escape from it.

Tangled Vines

Tangled vines are relative
twisting way up into my family tree.
When we were young, still in college,
my cousins all knew I needed a buck or two,
small amount just to get over a slump.
I finally asked for ten because
it would have helped me move on.
My rich bro gave me his two cents worth
and I've really never wondered why.
But the others, only had excuses
growing from twisted, tangled minds.

I've included each one in my will now
a hundred dollars apiece from my millions.

Hey Bro, Can You Spare a Dime

 sijo with notes

Although , everyone knew what was needed was a “quarter;”
yet all we asked for was a dime,* it would have helped us move on.
My rich bro gave me his two cents worth, which surprised no one.

FYI: Brother, Can You Spare a Dime” — The Anthem of the Great Depression. In 1932, a young New York City lyricist named E.Y. “Yip” Harburg, together with composer Jay Gorney, penned what is considered the anthem of the Great Depression, “Brother, Can You Spare a Dime?” It was part of the 1932 musical Americana.

*FYI 2: The dime referred to meant $10.00 during the depression.
