it was a bright pretty happy day
Joy had always been excited about life
she was from a small town
seventeen years old, in her happy element
She was from the kind of a town where people take care of each other
her bicycle chain broke on a country road
a nice-looking man in a blue pickup truck smiled at her
He turned his truck around to help
Offered to take her to town to fix it
Lifted the bike into his truck, showing his kindness
Joy trusted his smile
she was never seen again

Everything feels like it’s right,
There’s no reason to take flight,
Yet inside, it’s not quite right,
Still feels heavy, not quite light.
I said “yes,” or so I thought,
But something keeps me standing still.
I want to give You all I’ve got,
Yet part of me resists Your will.
You see me trying to let go,
But there is still something below,
A weight I can’t quite shake,
A chain I have yet to break.
Forgive me, Lord,
For holding back my soul.
This fear is like a rope;
It is tied tight, out of control.
But nothing is too hard for You.
In weakness, You make me strong.
In sadness, You bring comfort;
In You, I belong.
So I’ll release this lingering fear,
Though the path ahead’s not always clear.
Your plans remain above my own;
In You, my trust is fully grown.
You provide, sustain, and heal.
You fill the gaps I try to conceal.
You called, You chose despite my doubt;
Who am I to shut You out?
So here I am; I trust You, for real.
Lead me, Lord, and shape my will.
I long for more of only You,
More of You in all I do.

Loyalty isn’t asking for much it’s giving Anything you can, without hesitation, without fear of loss.
It’s being there, even when its dark,
and offering Anything because it’s worth it.
Because You were worth it.
But You didn't believe.
Loyalty is the quiet promise to give Anything,
and trust that it’s enough.

You must be dumb
The understanding of this truth will make you numb
Imagine trusting a man who left his wife for you
Looking at your body
He gets motivated
Looking at his life
He is frustrated
The need for excitement brings deceit
Soon his marriage faces defeat
For women, loneliness is often the case
Then she embraces another man
This was never part of the plan
But in reality, lust becomes the driving force
Imagine trusting a man who left his wife for you
Often we learn too late
This might be up for debate
But in reality, this happens all too often

You are a God of mercy
God is unfailing love
Your love for me is perfect
and it comes from up above
Your angels sing Your praises
singing joy and love to all
trusting the Father's praises
Jesus will come yes when I call

Solemn newscasters retell
Accounts filled with sorrow.
More children lost
where they should have been safe.
Seven lives cut short by
the careful planning of one.
We see Rachel’s tears
falling again. They’re gone.
Parents, communities cry out
“How can such evil be addressed?”
Empty arms ache with excruciating pain.
We remember Michelangelo’s “La Pieta”,
She neither blamed her Creator,
nor held back her expression of sorrow.
As we see yet another example of innocent slaughter,
And wonder how we address this culture of death.
Such pervasive life-destroying demands provoke us
to join the saints below the altar and cry, “How long Lord…?

They trusted the tree, so they tunneled beneath her.
Knowing she would keep them safe during the winter.
The bear made his nest first, then the fox.
Lamb followed her mistress, loving her reading voice.
Gaia kept them warm, nurturing them.
The book reader had to come up for food.
As did the fox.
However, the bear slumbered on, listening to the story.

I used to think my ship would come in
Dreaming of fortune, a modicum of fame,
But learning to be content where I am
Has taught me the real name of the game.
Finding oneself and being happy inside
Is more important than loads of currency
Though security is certainly a desirable
So is just knowing “the Lord will provide.”
When the fates deal me some bitter pill
And my future is looking especially grim,
I need to remember He’s with me still,
Sustenance depends on my trusting Him.

Nothing to see here the black bear said.
I am giving the rabbit a lift with my head.
Then you will eat him? Someone asked with glee.
The bear rolled his eyes and said “tweedle dee dee”.
The rabbit had not thought of this possibility.
He wondered then if too trusting he must be.
But the bear was his friend, so would keep him safe.
They had a terrific friendship, he and Mr. Rafe.
Mr. Rafe whispered you should scream.
It would be fun to wake them up from this dream.
The rabbit did not feel as comfortable now.
But glad it was a dream, this part was a wow.

*Trusting God
Written: by Miracle Man
September 21, 2020
It's easy trusting God when things go my way,
But God has used difficulties to built that trust.
Oft times he places speed bumps within my day,
stimulating my attitude, prompting it to adjust.
I know when He's trying just to get my attention,
but when odds are against me I don't feel forsook.
He remains my strength through each intervention,
and brings to my thoughts things that I overlook.
*Proverbs 3: 5-6
Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths.
