“Much Ado About Nothing”
Romeo’s love doesn’t fall through,
As Tybalt piques his fancy too.
And Juliet,
Not in love yet
Chills out on Tinder and Temu.
William, don’t mind the premise pick,
The rhymes have moved on so to speak;
Short and lightweight -
It’s shooting straight,
Not a sonnet, a limerick.
No tragic twists, no tricksy lies,
No fam’ly feuds to dramatize.
It might be viewed
Vulgar and lewd -
But no one kills and no one dies!

A life in a bubble ain’t no life at all.
You’ve gotta not be scared of a little fall.
So lift your head little one to the endless call.
Stand up tall, don’t crawl, now walk.
Midnight, dark light, under a sea of lights.
Bright stars, so far, we are temporary in this one life.
Wishes come true when I awake to the sunlight with you.
With your hand in my hand I can find a way through.
Be my reason, to be less resentful.
Lead me forward forever more.
Help me to see I need to be less hateful.
Show me a light I have never seen before.
Before you all I knew was angst and pain.
Now through you and with you I can rise again.
I never had the courage, but you pulled me through.
Now I can see the truth in you.
One step at a time I can learn to fix me.
You’re so tricksy with your magic smile.
You give me reason to laugh with you endlessly.
Stick with me through thick and thick…it gets easier in a while.

A poet’s pen of wicked artifice,
it is so heavy and so eclectic;
The writer’s creativity’s heavy,
tricksy to be inflamed so luminous;
Too many dollar bills to pay a price
I carry this burden like a fire-stick;
Striking harshly as it is meant to be,
smoke inhalation can be dangerous;
I suppose breathing is the sacrifice
to take abstract and mix in prolific;
Glittery concoction becomes deadly,
thus the nature of the magnanimous;
Crossfaded heart deciphering metric,
the unconventional flow hits wavy;
A fixed compass on wicked artifice.

What is love?
Some seed that doesn’t grow.
Some flower that doesn’t show.
Perhaps invisible arrows catch the wind
Perhaps life sees love but instead makes it a sin.
What is love?
Something that surrounds the mind.
Something that some of looking will never find.
Perhaps it’s all written in the stars.
Perhaps it beats deep within a heart.
But when love is here, when love is now.
No other sight, no other sound.
No other light, no other day.
None will matter either way.
Perhaps the trick is convincing it to stay.

I visit you in dreams,
and my visit is always unexpected.
I’m always excited and more
than a little apprehensive.
.
In dream variations, your reactions shuffle
like poker cards - you’re surprised and pleased,
or wary, or even politely disappointed.
.
Dreams can be a harsh mirror and as in real life,
my emotions are poorly protected.
.
Brushstrokes of truth hide behind the
tricksy falsehoods of dream-scapes. After all,
I’m an unworthy suitor in practically every way.
.
In the real world, I’m sure early, favorable
impressions would fade to inevitable boredom.
I have that effect on adults - I’ve seen it
- a quick nod and I’m invisible.
.
I should be a bank robber - “What did the
robber look like?” the police would ask.
“Well... the teller would say,” fading off to vagueness.
.
I could stand right there looking at my phone.
“Did YOU see anything?” The cop would ask me.
“I was playing candy crush...” I’d begin,
but the cop would walk distractedly away.
.
By the time they got the video evidence, I’d be long gone.

Deep violet Hibiscus with velvety petals,
On the quaint fence, sprawl the zestful creepers.
Mesmerizing tall branches of serene evergreen,
With tricksy Swallowtails, Redbreast Robin merrily whistling.

Deep violet Hibiscus with velvety petals,
On the quaint fence, sprawl the zestful creepers.
Mesmerizing tall branches of serene evergreen,
With tricksy Swallowtails, Redbreast Robin merrily whistling.
Ebullient songs of chirping Hummingbirds,
Little bushy squirrel excitedly searching for nuts,
Large leaves of Willow creating a comforting shade underneath,
Reminding of secret footsteps, rustling of leaves.
Mysteriously charming moon with blinking stars at night,
Gleaming jewels tell poignant stories, luminous and bright.
An unforgettable lullaby raindrops whisper,
Meanders in my alluring dreams, a gently murmuring river.
Peacocks dancing in a trance to the exuberant melody of rain -
Enthralling are the mystical rays of golden dawn divine.
In the fathomless blue ocean of my memory, I dive, and find the pearls,
My muse, my inspiration - guiding light, most precious!
Crooning mellifluously in my recurring dreams,
The deepest love, the immense blissfulness, all intertwined!

Fox.
A black-tipped tail disappears behind a tree,
Flashes of orange and black until, finally, I see you.
Majestic in a tricksy way, I would like to say I cornered you,
But I know better.
I meet your unwavering gaze.
They say there is no emotion in your black eyes,
Yet,
Knowledge beyond compare shines through the darkness,
Lighting up my world.
I understand now.
Seeming impenetrable walls of lies crumble, revealing the truth.
I see myself. In myself, I see you.
I know now.
We are not separate, but one and the same.
Two beings, two spirits, intertwined, forever spinning, chasing, knowing,
Fox.

Most sweets their nectar pollen pollinates,
Preserving life before their sap gets sapped;
Yet amber's sweetest resin resonates,
Ambrosia's essence from death's lap gets lapped.
But you, my sweet, are most untimely soured,
Indulgent hungers feed with greedy gluts
On dulcet fares, you're from your prime devoured,
Consumed unsweetly through most seedy guts.
You're like a cloyed, discandied bubblegum,
A sweetened, syrup-sugared pixie dust;
Your cheer gets halved, they're more than double glum,
An eaten snack succumbed through tricksy lust.
Most sweets conserved from death live still distilled,
Yet those most sour that have their fill fulfilled.

Long blonde hair
impulse stare
Leather jacket
metal glare
ruby lips
skin fair
wicked dreams
selfish cares
heated talk
simple mind
cold front
out of time
rancid couch
clammy heels
dusty snout
wheels and deals
tricksy miss
sticky legs
long limbs
phone rings
air still
cant walk
cant feel
cloudy haze
crazy mess
cold sweats
all bets
all time
lost chain
lost mind
out of time
outta time
