on boulevard du Montparnasse
soaking in the sun and the vibes
of a parisian sunday morning

Berlin

this non conformist city
breathes a calm but edgy air
through gaps in the graffiti 
and the street art everywhere

its face is sometimes brutal
but its heart and soul seem not
and it walks a sexy diverse walk
that’s cold yet somehow hot

(but I know I’m getting older
when those fun thoughts in my head
reject the swinging KitKatClub
for KitKat bars instead)

Tourist Spot

Cranes drop on water
Lodge and lull for a buffet
Bathe awhile and fly.

GNRT DAY 27 DULUTH TO BAYFIELD TOURIST MODE

For today’s easy drive from Duluth, MInnesota to Bayfield, Wisconsin
as is our nature we took the scenic route
ready to discover what Wisconsin is all about.

We stopped often along the way…(we never drive anywhere straight )
so we could experience first hand the beauty of this state.

We paused at a windmill, an old jail, a covered wagon

My city is a tourist spot
People come from all over
It’s also the home for Scad college
Which has pushed the price
Of renting a house or
An apartment sky high 
They do what’s best
For tourism and Scad
The bus stops were removed
From downtown which made it
Harder for the people who
Live here, longer walks in between
Stops, or the bus not

As I sit still in the still vehicle looking at the water hole with sure expectation, once through binoculars and again with normal gaze, there was sudden movement as a herd of deer approached the water hole. Chancery lane at 5 o’clock 
Towards the Strand I go
It’s a tourist kind of walk

Komorebi Tourist in Paradise

Tradewinds strummed the cocoa nutter's palm fingers
the sun crept down to its packed trunk
overburdened routes tangled tunnels underground
the sun snuck below through the subtropic shaft 
a sunny chamber secrets rays gaping droplets 
friendly fronds fingering the sun's gaps as palms' breadth widen
cavernous collapses as sunlight escapes
shadows were the only victims that were claimed

The Cloaked Ghost

Ghost
Gothic
Eidolon,
Sovereign king
Tears begin flowing.
Byzantine abandoned.
The cloaked statue sits and waits. 
The tourist lifts her head and sighs.  
Phantom’s pain she feels his suffering.

Labyrinthine journey stirs stark madness.
Intruders’ rash and reckless taunting

The days have been calm and collected.
The guests have been happy, content.
The weekday staff scurry out from the hotel
To avoid the upcoming event.

Weekend receptionists tremble
As the Friday night check-ins approach,
Fearing the tsunami of wrinklies
On their three-day excursions-by-coach.

The first vehicle’s brakes squeal their warning
As its door opens up with a sigh.

Like a Tourist

As the morning comes
thoughts begin to wonder
how to live like a tourist could
walk the beach to see the sunrise
have fresh fruit and banana pancakes
for dinner, eat shrimp with a shot of tequila
take my photo next to the heart stature
go shopping at the local market
take a nap in the afternoon
dance under the stars
go back to sleep

Secret Sanctuary For a Tourist

Sh! This is a secret place in a mystical magical forest.
Has she ever been discovered by others? I hope not.
I dare not ask, not ready to alert the other tourists.
This would spoil my private sanctuary. I decide to swim nude.
Not realizing everyone else sleeps in for another hour.

A New Zealand Visit With the Maori People

During a tour in this island nation, 
a Maori guide was seeking a nomination.

Among our tour he sought out a spokesman,
to respond to the chief's words, as a small token.

"Sir, will you represent your touring tribe?"
"Yes," I responded, "for a very large bribe!"

I wanted to know what was required.
Giving a speech was nothing I desired.
