Billy’s known to be fast on his feet,
but the girls who’ve sat in the next seat
    at the movies all know
    that his tootsies are slow
when compared to his hands. They’re so fleet.

Premium Member Socks

Fresh and comfortable
They hug my tootsies
When I put them on to start my day
Walking with me every mile
[even when I stray]
Different colors
From ink wellers
Brighten each step
As I am headed out the door
I can even slide across the floor like Tom Cruise
They even hide in my shoes
Until it is refreshing to take them off
After a long day, and a walk with the dog[s]

Premium Member Wash your tootsies

Wash your tootsies, your feathers, your toes
Wash your face, your tail, your beak nose.
Wash wash wash and cluck cluck cluck.
We will soon be cleaner than any duck!

The hens were happy, all chattering in line.
They loved the water, they were doing fine.
Wash wash wash and cluck cluck cluck.
Love the bubbles, but please don’t duck!

Shunshine

Shunshine was a character I would do for
the Grands when they were little. After securing them in the toddler swings at the park I would push them for a while. Then to mix things up I would absent mindedly start singing
Flo de doh doh doh in a gravelly voice .This was the announcement
that old Shunshine was back in town. With exaggerated movement I would gauge just where
their feet were in the swings arc and would place myself so that when I bent to retrieve an imaginary
object of concern their little toddler tootsies would boot me in the butt.Sometimes I would move out of the way just in the Nick of time to build suspense .When I thought the time was right I would linger at my imagined inspection.Bingo! Then all indignant I would whirl
around and say" Hey!,don't be kicking your old granny.Every last one of them thought it
Was just too much fun. When the oldest was ten I leaned over one day and said Hey Mase do you remember this?, and softly sang Flo de doh doh doh into his ear.A sweet smile played upon his face as he said I remember that.Old Shunshine.

Premium Member Tootsies

I think the dryer ate my socks.
  I cannot find a pair.
  Whatever will my tootsies wear?

  No sign of socks
    on my floor,
      in my drawer,
         or behind my door!

It seems so weird they just disappeared!

I thought I spied one under the bed,
it was just my Calico cat instead.

I asked the dryer their whereabouts.
  Did he know?
  I had my doubts.

Were they stuck with static to a dress?
This tumbling machine would not confess.

   I begged my crocs,
  “Have you seen my socks?”
“We plead the fifth,” they replied.

  "Had my dryer lied?

I pleaded with the hamper to tell me the truth.
Where oh where is the old sock sleuth?

   Droopy
   sporty,
   smelly and
   black.

TELL THE DRYER I WANT THEM BACK!

The Toe Truck

If your shoes are too small
And your tootsies get stuck,
Do not fret, simply call
For the nearest toe truck.

Speak up loud - use your tongue;
Don’t get laced up in knots.
Virtues may be unsung
But the toe truck has lots.

So if help is your goal,
Toe trucks cannot be beat.
They will comfort your sole
As they race to de-feet.

*Inspired by a misspelling in a story
my grandson was writing.

As coffee cups go mine's very pretty
With butterflies and flowers thereon
Not very masculine I must admit
But welcome at the crack of dawn

Stumbling my way down to the kitchen
At six o'clock on the dot
Dragging my body bumping into things
Arms flailing reaching for the pot

The first sip goes down kinda roughly
I shake and shudder giving thanks
My body tingles right down to my tootsies
That stuff can sure turn my crank

Been thinking of taking it intravenously
That's when there's no turning back
When you fall headlong over the precipice
And have serious withdrawal attacks

But to top it all off this substance is legal
How cool is that my good friends
When stuff can give you this much of a buzz
It's bound to be illegal in the end

So far so good and until further notice
You can drink it openly if you wish
But as soon as it goes the way of marijuana
That's a whole different kettle of fish

Sometimes I
just want to lie on
the grass with
yellow blooms,
daisy heads between my toes
to make a statement.

In a world
of conformists who
swarm cities
in their suits,
I take my time...being me
and that’s what matters.

No hustle
bustle, kafuffle
in my life,
a private
realm of serenity and
peace where I reside.

As the grass
tickles my tootsies,
giggling green
chlorphylled
toesies wave, greeting the day
with daisy jewels.

I love to go dancing each week,
alas, a new partner I now urgently seek

No conversation, Joe was such a bore,
as we shuffled around the dance floor

We’d mastered a waltz and the tango.
but he didn’t quite ‘get’ the fandango

He’d say let’s try that dance move again -
crushing my tootsies, till I cry out in pain

I couldn’t walk when he broke my left toe
I said I'm sorry Joe, but you’ve just got to go

My plaster cast gets removed on Monday
In time a new partner will come my way

If you’re wondering where Joe dances now ...
he’s at the rear end of a pantomime cow!

Premium Member Kansas Winter Does Not Play

Jack Frost has taken us hostage today
My tootsies are freezing in every which way
When Kansas winter arrives, she does not play.

The sky is dark, not blue, more of a dismal gray.
Dapple horse is hiding in the first unlocked barn bay.
When Kansas winter arrives, she does not play.

The cars are not moving on the icy highway.
Someone broke their leg, and needs an x-ray.
When Kansas winter arrives, she does not play.

I’m staying inside if that is close to okay.
Nothing is warm out there, not even blue jay.
When Kansas winter arrives, she does not play.

Premium Member Boobie Wooble

Why are us doobies addicted to “boobie woobies”
No, it isn't a code, it's tough-guy talk for us loonies
Am I striking a chord
Still boobies I adore
Can't live without 'em, they curl up my tootsies

Premium Member Just What the Doctor Ordered

Doc said put on this hospital gown
Then remove your clothes from the waist down
My bare tootsies she clocks
As I’d removed my socks
No need for that, she said with a frown!

True story today - get my biopsy results in a month - got my fingers crossed ... wish I could have kept my legs crossed lol

Space Shot

If I were a scientist I'd build a massive gun
To blast myself beyond the moon and then beyond the sun
I say the sun but it’s a star, our closest so I'm told
But I would keep on going cos the stars just leave me cold
They’re balls of burning gases and I’m sorry to be fickle
They always burn your tootsies and they defrost your popsicle
So on I'd travel speeding like a nuke intergalactic
Glad I built my launcher out of metal and not plastic
Lest I fail my mission, I'll rally and jet on
No meteorite shall halt my flight, I'll have my helmet on
I only hope that as I go my lungs don't spill my breath
For who would then inform you of my sad untimely death
My sole intent to land upon a planet like our earth
And so I would send word instead about my second birth
I'd need to make a missile that could take my message home
But first I'd make a shelter, perhaps a perspex dome
Once I'm fed and rested I would make another shooter
For there's no way that I could make an Interstellar scooter
If that's what you expected I must demonstrate defiance
My skills are in ballistics and not in rocket science

If the Shoe Fits

Prince Charming arrived at the shoe store
looking for his Cinderella and future bride,
it was announced ahead of time on the internet,
thousands of women lined up for the event.,
hoping their tootsies would fit the glass slipper,
hours of grunts and groans and no luck,
Barbie Doll appeared in her gown and it was over.
