Kansas Winter Does Not Play
Jack Frost has taken us hostage today
My tootsies are freezing in every which way
When Kansas winter arrives, she does not play.
The sky is dark, not blue, more of a dismal gray.
Dapple horse is hiding in the first unlocked barn bay.
When Kansas winter arrives, she does not play.
The cars are not moving on the icy highway.
Someone broke their leg, and needs an x-ray.
When Kansas winter arrives, she does not play.
I’m staying inside if that is close to okay.
Nothing is warm out there, not even blue jay.
When Kansas winter arrives, she does not play.
