Has-Beans

One cup was enough
to curl his toes
as caffeine
the psychoactive chemical
allowed no doze
or more than a mug
no matter how roasted
the polyphenols
affected his free radicals
'til he did feel really quite toasted
and yet with no wish to upset
the happy home
after so many years of married life
he chose to grin and bear it
the 'Harried Hubby' syndrome
for altho' his dear wife
brewed her coffee in a pot
bad-tasting as it was
grounds for divorce
it was not

A Toasted Marshmallow

Golden skin,
crispy and warm,
nestled on a stick,
a small ember of joy.

A dance above the flame,
sugar melting,
the sweet scent rising,
whispers of summer nights.

With a gentle pop,
the center flows,
a moment of bliss,
soft and sticky,
waiting to embrace the graham,
the chocolate,
the laughter of friends.

A toasted marshmallow,
simple pleasure,
a sweet memory,
captured in a bite.

Premium MemberToasted Marsh Ghosts

let’s toast some ghosts, the witch said to me.
Her hair was as red as the devil’s sea.
I had no words, but wondered what she meant.
when I saw it, I was lost in wonderment.

You are really toasting ghosts! I exclaimed.
I told you she said to me, her hair inflamed.
The ghosts were booing, hissing, and stuff.
She said “they blubber, but I can huff.”

I was amazed at her ability to do what she did.
Out in the open, showing everyone. What a kid!
Do you eat them too? I asked, kind of intrigued.
I am not a cannibal! She told me. Not a bad seed.

Why do you toast them? I asked her, wanting to know.
They love it, she told me. It helps them so….
They cannot boo as hard when they are pristine.
I do it to be helpful; it is not a bit mean.

Premium MemberToasted Jeans

There is no need for thermal underwear
Passion so hot keeps me warm in your arms
I feel like a rainbow with every touch
If it is love or lust matters not I must
Have my chocolate kiss and caramel spooning
Making me such a silly bird swooning
So deep in your space we are one
Running in place to meet the sun

Dippy Don'T Drippy When the Bread Is Toasted

Butter 12 slices of potatoes bread
With a garlic butter
Fry bread one side until brown
On the fried side
One slice of swiss cheese
Place one tablespoon of honey mambo and saurkrut
Layer five to seven prices of corned beef
Or four roast beef and four corned beef
Top with swiss and grill until done.
Serve with a beer, ginger ale and lemon, with a spot of whiskey and sugar.

Toasted

I love it when i
realise the day
The captured smells amidst the sunny prone
mixes of chocolate and spilled fizz
splattered lotion and water spray
melted blacktop and toasted toes
realising the day within the day
and the seconds within moments

Toasted Kernals of Salted, Saged Brothing's

he spoke of hear the pig's heart
they sounded loudly thru the ribs
his flesh was fresh and would
cause him to wish for silence
"the husk's of the kernal's,
are grounded by those sages who
are brothed by livers and kidneys
the flesh of the swine, damn-it might his
heart be silent
might my ears hearest him not!
she created me with seasons
in the room
beaneath her floor
the heart sounds thru it's aroma
to starve me into my sileance.
might bread be browned
and eggs warmed to perfection
that the I might silence the
pig beneath the floor.
than might you love me
than might you love me!

He wishes to have scrapple egg's and toast.

Premium MemberToasted Red Cheddar

This is one of my favourites
sitting down at end of the day
with a big mug of coffee plus
two slice red cheddar toasted on tray

The toasted cheese is done on grill
making it sizzle and bubble what a thrill!
the redness flows down its side
put on so thick it looks like a hill

As you put the toast to your mouth
your senses are raised such a height
anticipation is raised to 100 per cent
your mind pictures your very first bite

This is your last bite before bed
making you sleep so very deep
if you were to pass away at night
your last abiding memory to keep

So I loved my toasted cheese
but now need to keep myself in shape
it's so fattening on the waistline
so must fight it to shorten the tape

Toasted Tourists

The heat was a change from our normal abode
a wonderful way to reside,
but when it is high at the noon of the day
it would be nice to stay cool inside.

A country so hot was a good place to be
where from routine and work we were free,
where the sunshine and sand of our holiday land
let us play all day long in the sea.

But next time we go we will fly on a plane
and find nice cool rooms to stay in,
the sun heated our caravan too hot by far
so we roasted like nuts in a tin.

Good luck to our friends they can drive on their own
to the land where they're toasted right through
for we'll only go where there's places to stay
with air-con and plenty to do.

We got bored in this land where there's nothing but sand,
though the natives were friendly, that's true,
but just sitting all day on beaches that way
is not what we’d normally do.

We had travelled so far with our caravan and car
with our friends that are really quite sweet
but in two thousand and four we learned a bit more
about things that we'll never repeat!

When the Night Toasted Darkness

Created on: August 14, 2007 Last Updated: August 13, 2013

The night toasted darkness
And the shadows set in
Into the deep wilderness
The moon shone again

Behold, for the darkness has no truths
So much deceiving me that I don't know what to do
The anger comes upon me and I try to release it
But instead in my queasy stomach, an ache in the pit

Circles of memories and reminders flutter about my brain
Coming in double time, pieces falling like rain
I try to speak but I just slam the door
Because the words cannot be spoken anymore

Maybe it's the side of me people take for granted
With a heart like an eggshell and a posture like granite
One false move could send me off this planet
Running from the nonsense and irony that runs so rampant dammit

Toasted

perfect love, joined from above,
kind returns to kind,
dual thought it brings,
same thought she sings,
loves subtle connection rhyme,

ya toasted Vie,
'perfect love'
says I,
without a doubt,
is sweet...
