Diplomatic Secrets to Take to My Grave
I worked for 27 years
as a US diplomat
and witnessed a lot of things
that were and are considered
secrets.
– and we are trained
to keep these secrets
secret.
and I will no doubt die
and take some secrets
to my grave.

My teeth walked down the stairs today
Molar stepped on aluminum and I yelled “hey!”
They were rioting to protest the new floss.
I rolled my eyes; after all, I am the boss!
My mouth tried to speak but nothing came out
Not whisper, a gurgle, a cough or a shout.
My teeth snickered; a sassy incisor cheered.
They were gaining momentum as I had feared!
My tongue gave me a wagging; I heard not a word.
Those damn teeth had made my face feel absurd.
My teeth began dancing, in the night, in the street.
To a crazy, happy, sensual reggae beat.
How to get them back? What would I have to do?
I promised them the moon, and new floss too….

Fear has gripped my very soul
sadness overwhelms
his hardest battle’s being fought
the worst is yet to come
Can’t turn back the hands of time
life takes a toll each day
his smile’s quite deceiving
his frailty’s on display
The time has now arrived
we’re saying our goodbyes
sitting on angel’s wings
his spirit, it does fly
Tears… they come
and then they go
then once again
they begin to flow
Emotions are swirling about
feels like a roller coaster ride
I have to take hold of myself
every part of me aches inside
It’s said “Time heals all wounds”
a bit of it has passed
I haven’t any idea
how long this pain will last
Just so that I don’t break
I take to my paper & pen
writing is where I turn to
that and support from my friends

What It Does Take to Make a Break
my effort does make
exactly what it will take
to bake a great cake
Jim Horn
i had made a pie
and my recipe would try
used and did apply
my poems are not bad
best ones that I ever had
written and am glad
is a prodigy
trump committed blasphemy
also bigamy
bible upside down
we had heard all over town
while we all would frown
my poems will combine
always great and they are mine
paragraph and line

What does it take to walk away,
From all the abuse, when you chose to stay,
Through phony tears and avid routines,
Training your mind not to leave,
When compassion becomes toxic to your heart and soul,
When you become used to not letting go,
When your love runs so deep, yet you cannot accept,
The mind games, the pain, the disrespect,
You wash your hands and forgive everyday,
Honestly...how much more can you take?,
Regretting you allowed it to go this far,
It meant nothing all this time and ended up breaking you heart,
Yet you endured...and stood by his side,
But what does it take to say goodbye?

This bloke said, ‘Hi,’ but we nearly passed him by
My mate said, ‘You should listen, he's a scientist guy.’
He uttered lots of nonsense but it stuck inside my head
And now I rarely go out cos I walk the streets in dread
He said, ‘ What if the ostriches never could fly
and a bit more evolution sees them take to the sky,
you’d better make a bee line to a market seller
and ask him if you might procure his biggest umbrella.
If your coffee is alfresco when you’re shopping in town,
you sit there and you sup it but the level don’t go down.
Better put a hand or saucer over your cup
but whatever you do, don’t ever look up.’
Might we then discover Darwin got it all wrong
The evidence apparent in the god almighty pong
I hope it doesn't come to pass till after I’m dead
That elephants and hippos circle over our head
I cannot help but think about the prehistoric era
And the reason for extinction which could not be any clearer
No cosmic collision killed the beasts that came before us
They were smothered in the output from an airborne brontosaurus!

My Friends, Hear the words of the Lord
He's on your side always and forever
have your heart open always to receive
words of love, perfect love to deliver
Be very strong and so courageous
hold on to God's words with a full grip
never let go of His precious promises
following Jesus is a wonderful trip
The Lord your God is ever near
He goes wherever you do go
you have His presence ever near
with His sword to fight your foe
God gives you a very special promise
He will not leave you or forsake you
words that bring hope to one's heart
for God is able to bless you so to do
( Deuteronomy 31: 6
''Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.”)

Fly with me
This poem depicts a beautiful picture of how God often set us up for success.
An Eaglet is hungry in his nest
His body steadied in a cold rest
Mom comes flying in an undulating breeze
In each flight, she came with empty feet
Mom pushes her little one out of the nest
The young Eaglet fell on his chest
Hitting his face against the cliff of the hill
He picked up a beetle and ate it; his first kill.
He stayed by itself, no longer brooded at night
As time passed he was airborne for his first flight
Mother pushes her little one in and out again
As he screamed for food over and over again
“Mom, what are you doing?”?
“Hey! Mom, what are you doing?”?
Mom flew by, dangling a marmot in his feet
The eaglet lost balance in eagerness to eat
The parent swung by, daring him to fly
Lifted up high, he gave it a first try
He sailed across the valley, almost tumbling
In an undulating flight, almost scrambling
He tried to get his bearing, still trying
And for the first time in his life, he was flying.

It takes life to live life,
Fresh air to breathe;
Sunlight to have energy,
And a power to create.
It takes war to win freedom,
Courage to be a hero;
Pain to be a poet,
And two to tango.
It takes humility to say sorry,
Forgiveness to forget;
Meekness to make apology,
And mistake to show regret.
It takes a long hard road
To go the extra mile;
And a cheerful moment,
To make someone smile.
It takes smile to stay young,
Speed to beat the clock;
So much love to have time,
And shepherd to feed the flock.
It takes prayer to realize a dream,
To be perfect, more practice;
Self-discipline to improve,
And time to gain success.
It takes work to prove faith,
Truth to set man free;
Proof to accept the truth,
And heart to be holy.
It takes trial to be strong,
Faith to move mountain;
Blood for man to be redeemed,
And hope to reside in heaven.
Endless things so it seems,
For everyone to learn and see;
In a perfect world of glory,
What does it take to be?

I am in this emotional state of GLADNESS
Because i have grown.
I have grown so much and still have so
Much more to grow.
Who ever thinks that he has reached his growth limit really
Does not know the true situation of human existance and
UNDERSTANDING
We should all attempt to grow to our own individual
Capacities, and possibly beyond. Ok, there is a a CHRONIC INFLUX of knowledge
Which enthralls us all. Originating around the globe.
It is nearly insurmountable.
With gains and LOSES WE ARE PROS. We should know.
When we as humans, think that we have won.
I say "NO". We are in the MID DRIFT.
A different type of UNDERSTANDING.
We have ULTIMATELY discovered a new theme, a new
Encouragement and been seared by multiple ideologies.
There exist new information every time you BLINK,
You might have already missed a key component, but we have all
Been enhanced by the expanse .....of KNOWLEDGE.
We must put our ear to the DOOR.
NOW TELL ME WHAT IT TAKES TO BE A HUMAN BEING.
i'm GLAD BECAUSE I THINK I'M A HUMAN BEING.

Father Christ Jesus listeners often got swept by His charismatic manner
Blurted their intention to follow Him
That does not mean they were ready to be true disciples of Father Christ Jesus
In this Gospel story
A man wanted to follow Father Christ but was deflated (let down) when Father Christ pointed out that He had no home
His followers would have none of the things considered necessary for a happy life
Following Jesus or Father Christ wouldn’t always be comfortable and that thought turned many away
For the second man in the story
The timing wasn’t right
He wanted to fulfill his duty to his dying father before setting out with Father Christ Jesus sets the agenda
Our duty is to obey Father Christ Jesus knew that looking back while plowing can ruin the job
He used that example to help the third man that we need to have a singleness of purpose to His disciple
We still have to make sacrifices to follow Father Christ Jesus
But He promises that the rewards will be worth much more

Zeke and His Old Lady Ride Again
By Elton Camp
Men trembled when Zeke appeared
In his black leather jacket and beard
When he and his gang rode into town,
Why, even the sheriff would back down
His defiant look and motorcycle roar
Portended what might well be in store
It was Lou who his “old lady” became
Sexy and trim, she was quite a dame
On his Harley the two rode together
Terribly fearsome birds of a feather
They were the terror of the highway
As such, they couldn’t always stay
Childbirth took them off the road
The two moved into a family mode
Lou became a part-time file clerk
Zeke at a repair shop went to work
Occasionally, they will ride a bit more
But things are not as they were before
Old Zeke hobbles a lot these days
It’s two hundred pounds Lou weighs

What may it take to reply
A apology after another
A sweet chocolate
A poetry of praise
A Joke to laugh
A bouquet of flowers
A shower of reminders
Or just a though that
I remembered you
What may it take to reply
..
