When instinct becomes
an educated guess
And improvisation
demands quick redress
Like thinking on one’s feet
if too drunk to stand
Be found all at sea
throwing up on dry land
Twisted situations
we find ourselves in
When bundles of joy
reek original sin
Smack on the butt
for showing a bit of cheek
Do everything perfect
be labelled a freak
Gestures, signals,
often appear to confuse
High five, fist bump
a sweaty handshake defused
One or two fingers:
the bird a sign of peace
Kneel with respect
submissive purr on a leash
Diversions, promises,
never black and white
Passive aggression
silent treatment for slight
Jack in the box, ripper
jumps out with a knife
Break a leg, for the
performance of his life
Police warning: never
mess around with guns
Gut reaction sparks a
stampede, or the runs
Playing it very cool,
whilst feeling much heat
Praying devoutly,
burnt at stake for deceit
Sticking out one’s tongue
in contempt, no a kiss!
Sigh of relief
they were just taking the piss
Such is living, such is death
come friend or foe
On second thoughts

Rare Stanza- Reza Syllabic Verse
(this is supposed to be syllabic verse, but there's not any selection for the form)
I teeter at this moment
between wanting to touch you
and just walking past by you
not looking back, forget you.
A blanket of cloud hovers
even the sky now teeters
between spreading light to all
or shrouding the earth in dark.
Often I love to linger
choosing quiet solitude
then suddenly I worry
that loneliness might catch me.
I live my life in extremes
blurring emotions into
unclear hues of loves and hates
mirror collage to taunt me.
Your silken skin, trembling to the touch
A scent of sandalwood, wafts as to soar
Your pant, accentual-syllabic verse
Beat ever faster, no ration of time
Awkward moments as two become one
An everlasting symphony of fire
Quenched, after the crescendo of the night
Descending from a dream all in my mind
Fallen boys with white crosses,
your nightmares now peaceful dreams.
Gone the shrapnel, the bullets,
trenches of blood crimson streams.
To earth, condemned, fears of men,
fertile ashes to brave dust.
Rouse from warm brotherly beds,
dear sirs remind us you must.
Listen! Trumpet now calling
by dawn soldier's silhouette.
Heed the Last Post of battle,
forever lest we forget.
Arise ye from deep slumber,
Unknown spirits of unseen.
Weep and we will wipe away
your tears from Nineteen Fourteen.

CAMEO
Choker,
A velvet ribbon,
Adorned with a sweet cameo.
Old, Antique,
Valued for it's ancient beauty.
A special gem to pass down.
Priceless.
Judy Ball
Real cameos are very special.
They add a lot of Old World charm to most any outfit and can be worn as a choker or
a broach.
( This form of poetry is called "Cameo" and I used the Cameo gem as the subject.)
(Cameo is a seven line unrhymed syllabic verse form. The count is: 2,5,8,3,8,7,2)
It isn't listed in the form list so I thought I should list it here.
WEDDING CAMEO
I chose,
A blue cameo,
Romantic, antique adornment,
So special,
Charming, simple, elegant touch,
To complete my wedding gown,
array.
